The gym is very nice. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Especially Anthony who helped me and my family set up our memberships.

It's been many months since the last review and five of the ten treadmills are still dead while many of the cyclical machines are limping. Pieces of the weight machines remain broken or patched and cleanliness is still an issue. If this place continues on this path, then it's going to face an inevitable death. This place is a filthy pit. It is rarely cleaned, machines are regularly broken for weeks at a time. It is impossible to cancel the membership unless you get very lucky and are there when the right person is present. Broken lockers and bad maintenance of everything. Go somewhere else. read more

these guys do the classic "come in and cancel" and after moving out of state and figuring my contract will eventually expire as i my payments never stopped coming - they send collections after me ALMOST 2 YEARS AFTER I MOVED OUT OF STATE claiming that i owe over $150 FOR WHAT?! Front desk personnel is a young 'man' who was rude and aggressive, they change ownership of this location a few years ago and it's never been the same since. Ya know, I've been looking for a gym with a treadmill for use during the colder months. Took the time to visit Eagle Fitness. Went in and no one, not one employee, even acknowledged that I was there. They were all talking amongst themselves. It wasn't a very busy time of day, but I guess they were more interested in each other than a potential customer. That's fine. I waited about ten-minutes, which is a very long time when one is waiting for something, and left. They didn't just lose me as a customer, but six of my friends, who are retired and have lots of money in their pockets. We walk every morning and wanted to find a place inside this year because we're getting tired of being out in the cold mornings for our hour walk. Just as well I guess. With that kind of business attitude, they won't be open much longer. It's only a matter of time before the door closes. read more

I spent about 3 weeks visiting and trying out gyms in the Reno/Sparks area. I had a few "needs" and many many "wants" and just couldn't seem to find the right fit. Enter Eagle Fitness! I was charmed by the gentleman at the front desk. He was SO NICE and gave me all the info about the gym without being a pushy salesman. He was super upfront about pricing (so dang affordable!) and also suggested that I come back to try out a class that evening. I came back for the kickin' boot camp class on Monday night. It definitely kicked my butt, but gave me the right workout I was looking for while still being approachable for a fitness novice like myself. That's how most of the classes are here... great workouts for folks of all levels. The age range is so great here and that makes it feel accessible. The instructors usually work with you and offer mods if your body isn't quite ready for the tough stuff. The daycare always loves to see my daughter and she has such a great time, she never wants to leave! Also, as mentioned, it is perfectly affordable! It doesn't have a pool or hot tub or any fancy stuff, but for the price point, it's perfect. I can always get on a machine, even during peak hours, or find a spot in a class without any fuss. This is a nice local neighborhood gym that welcomes pretty much anyone! read more

Eagle Fitness Reno is a corrupt and horribly outdated gym. Canceling my membership here has been a nightmare and the employees are incredibly rude when the topic is brought up. I'm reviewing based on my teen daughter's experiences. For the past six months, she's taken classes here at least 3-4 times per week... Zumba, mixed fit, toning, yoga. She really likes the instructors, and for $22 per month for unlimited classes, I think it's a really good deal! She's taking classes here for credit instead of doing PE at her school, and the manager has been good about signing her attendance card every month. read more

Too busy, takes a long time to fix machines (some of which are broken more often than are working), do not allow for overnight lockers. All this was bearable but when canceling they make you pay an extra month because they need a "30-day cancellation policy". This is pretty ridiculous and just a way to milk you out of your money. I was member for about 9 years or so and never had any issue with the gym. It was a good price, fairly close to my house and 24 hour access. Never really had an issue getting equipment despite the size of the facility. Only downside was, it would sometimes take a while for pieces of equipment to get fixed. I was happy that they froze memberships during the first part of covid. Once they reopened it took me a while to get back over to freeze my membership until I felt comfortable going back but it was easy enough. Once I got vaccinated I reinstated my membership and was happy to be back until I went during the week after work which is usually the start of their peak hours. I was sad to see about 80% of the guys were either wearing their mask under their chin or some straight up had them off and were walking around without a care. I saw one guy even talk to a desk worker and the kid said nothing to him about having his mask under his chin. I emailed them to inquire about their mask policy (because I know some will let you have it off) and no response. I know I shouldn't care since I'm vaccinated but when there's signs all over saying masks must be worn at all times, it shows me how "serious" they are taking it and it just shows the type of crowd this place draws in. I decided to cancel and go for a closer gym that's bigger with more perks and they are amazing at enforcing covid protocol. When I canceled at EF, I did ask about the mask policy and the desk worker said ppl are suppose to have masks on at all time. It's just too small of a gym to not enforce the masks especially because there tends to be a group of elderly clients that go there regularly. And they were able to get an extra monthly charge because of their 30 day cancellation policy despite me canceling a week after they charged me for the month . Oh well. It's not a bad gym but just not the place for me anymore. read more

Sweet baby Jesus, please refill the shampoo in the men's bathroom. Seriously. It's literally why I cant give this place 5 stars. Generally speaking I find this to be a great gym. Mostly clean and the staff is friendly. I work with a trainer here and love her. Cliffs is seriously the best. The only other downside is that the treadmills all seem to have issues from random knocks, to broken TV's, to no inclining. I've not personally had a major issue but several folks start on one and move to another to find a working one. The music is great, good temp and they have a lot of rags around for sanitation too. Bathrooms get a little dingy even though their staff is signing all the time that they are being inspected. I don't care as much about that as I do getting soaking wet in the shower only to find out there's no shampoo. I don't wanna be stinky all day and neither do my coworkers lol. read more

I went to the gym after several months due to the Covid 19 closures. When I entered to the front desk the attendant was wearing his mask but I saw a lot of people walking all over on the gym not wearing mask. I did not feel it was safe to exercise in that facility and cancelled the membership at that time. They are still harassing me on the phone because I am not willing to pay for another 30 days of membership when they did not follow the minimum protocols and I am not able to used the gym. read more

Daycare ISSUES: beware I brought my daughter to the gym daycare there were 2 female staff and 3 children all seeming to be under 1 year old which was great however i observed the outside door (located in the daycare room) was wide open to the sidewalk and parking lot. I asked the girls if this was common practice to have the door open, and they responded yes when it is hot they open the door. I then stated that made me uncomfortable. My sister then asked if they would please put up the baby gate because it seems very risky to have small children in a daycare that has open unobstructed access to a parking lot. They then replied we will probably just shut it.. however they did not get up and they did not shut the door or put up the gate. I then left the room and spoke to the front desk worker and told her my concerns with the door being open, her response was that nothing has ever happened before and she offered to speak to them which she went and did. I waited about 5 minutes or so and felt uneasy by their lack of urgency or apparent care at all that they are watching other peoples children and their safety and security is in their hands. I then removed my daughter and when doing so noticed they still had not closed the door or put up a gate even after my request and the front desk personal spoke to them. I did not work out, and sadly we will not be joining this gym because of these very serious concerns. Its not just a risk for the children getting out and struck by a vehicle but it is also a concern that anybody off the sidewalk can walk into that daycare if they want to.. more easily than if they had to enter the gym and then find the daycare room. read more

I was referred here by my neighbor. Four of my neighbors belong to Eagle Fitness. The atmosphere has the perfect volume of music. TV programs meet the needs of its clients. There are many programs to choose from for your fitness needs. I love being able to go anytime of day. My favorite class is the zumba class. It is soo much fun, there's hardly any room for people. All participants have a good attitude and are welcoming to the class. It's a community of fitness clients who want you to have fun while exercising. The gym membership is affordable. read more

If you're looking for a small local gym that's open 24/7 Eagle Fitness is for you. A gym that offers the basic weights and machines to get a good workout. Depending on the time of day it can be quite crowded. The reason I give this gym 2 stars is the lack of organization and maintenance. Often times you'll have to go looking for a weight and at times isn't the cleanest (gym and locker room). In addition, some machines can take awhile before the repairs are done on them. This can be quite frustrating. It's a place to workout, but be prepared to sweat and not just from your workout. The gym temperature at times can be at an uncomfortable temperature due to the size of the gym. They have fans placed throughout the gym that "help," but the fans don't get rid of the humid feeling. Overall, it's a small gym that can get the job done. read more

Signing up was easy and the drop in fee is affordable. The area is small but manageable. There are still areas where you can deadlift if you need to. And there are mats if you want to deadlift quietly. The environment is friendly and people here mind their own business. Tip: if you do a walk in, come before 8:00 PM or you can't get in. read more

You must do so in person, but again, there's almost never staff actually there. Or you have to write in a letter requesting cancellation, they will cancel you 30 days after the post mark. But if you do that. Make sure you follow up. They didn't let me know they received my letter of cancellation. Spend a little more money for something you'll actually be able to use. read more

There are literally so many better gyms in Reno/Sparks for the same price. All the equipment is mediocre and warn down. It doesn't matter what time you go to the gym, 2am, 12pm, 8pm... there will never be enough weights/benches available which can be annoying if you're trying to get a quick workout in. THE WORST PART you can't cancel over the phone??? You have to mail in a letter to cancel you membership... I guess I didn't realize we were living in the 1800s still and our only form of communication is mail. Why can't you just call to cancel or cancel online? Makes no sense. The front desk people are literally incompetent so I wont even waste your time talking to them. If you're looking for a gym just look somewhere else. read more

Every morning around 10:30 there is a woman yelling in the cycling room at her "class" so loud you can hear her over your ear buds, the room has a door but she won't close it and if you go over and shut the door she reopens it. It is distracting from your workout and very rude to other members, management really should have trainers keep the door closed during their classes !! read more

I loved this gym until they sent me to collections. My credit card had expired on file and I was never informed I had missed payments. Rather than communicating that information to me, I was completely blind sided with late fees and a random call from collections without any knowledge of why I owed this company any money. This was very disappointing and I do not want to fund a business that has no communication skills and honestly, employees who could careless of the well being of their customers. On the bright side, Dana Cavakis is wonderful. She's a great trainer and puts on amazing classes. read more

Our families go to gym now that 24hr stopped doing child care. The prices are great. We take our daughter to child care here multiple times a week and she loves it. We have donated multiple toys to there already well stocked supply. The girls are always very nice to our little one and both of us. The gym itself is on the smaller side but at the times we go it is not crowded so it really doesn't matter. The equipment is all new and functions without issue. Big enough to do whatever you want to workout. It's always clean. Weights, cardio and bathrooms. The trainers that train here are all nice and polite with machine usage. I have been to gyms in the past that trainers think they run the show and take multiple machines. Not here. I really like that fact that this is a local gym not a giant corporation. I was a little hesitant about his gym at first because it seems very small and crowded, which it is, but once you get in there and start working out it ends up being not so bad. Even when there's a lot of people in the gym it's easy to find an available and desirable machine to use. The staff is very responsive to complaints of any nature and any broken equipment seems to get fixed right away. There's also two group fitness rooms which are easily accessible during non class hours for floor work and free weights and such. Overall, it's a good price in a good neighborhood and the small nature of it doesn't slow me down. This gym has really grown on me since I began coming here and I think it's a good choice for someone on a budget. read more

Although it's considered small, it's seems plenty big enough to serve the neighboring area. The all-glass front gives it a nice open feel. However, you are totally on your own. I registered and paid on-line, and promptly given a door-access fob when I arrived, and that's it! The very young gals at the front desk appeared to be more like they were loitering, than even attempting to make a new member feel welcome, like he made the right choice signing up. Absolutely no additional information was offered. I had to pull for information about classes, training, etc. There is no brief tour or orientation of ANY kind. No one to explain how to use the machines, or even where anything is located. I get more service from a gas station than I did from Eagle Fitness. When I expressed my disappointment, I was just given a business-card to hire a personal trainer, if I needed any assistance with the equipment. Really!? I would think at the very least an optional "orientation session" would be available, (even for a modest charge), to include some simple instructions on the machines and which ones to use, and set work-out goals. My daughter left for college and called to cancel her membership. She was told she had to do it in person or send a written letter. So I dropped off a letter and asked why there was no way to cancel it online and was told they can't verify identity that way online. it's amazing that all kinds of businesses with much more critical information are able to do that. I give the gym itself, and individual staff, 5 stars. I've loved my experience, but the owner/manager is extremely unprofessional. In the middle of asking for a receipt to confirm I got a credit to my account (because she double charged me on my membership this month) the owner abruptly walked away in the middle of me asking. I am still a paying customer, whether you're irritated or not, and I was not irritated about it in any way, all I wanted was to make sure it was on my account now that i was in person at the gym. Even the front desk seemed shocked that you walked away. I hope you treat your employees better than your paying gym members! read more

Called on Tuesday, August 16th and still couldn't get a hold of the manager, but the employee at the desk assured me that he'd contact the manager to process my refund. I was called back 15 minutes later by Colleen who apologized for the charges that took place during the promotion and processed my refund and my membership cancellation. Everything else in my prior review stands. It's a nice little gym with good equipment, open 24 hours, and has amenities like free daycare if you need that. My only issue was with the billing and that was resolved, so I'm a happy camper. read more

I signed up in January and was told I had to cancel by May 22 to avoid the yearly fee so I called to cancel in early May. Because of the virus, there was no answer so I used their website email to cancel, but was still charged. I finally contacted the owner who knew I had no way of canceling in person and knew that I had written a letter to the website to cancel in time, but he refused to refund the monies that were wrongfully taken. I love coming here and let me tell you, I HATE the gym experience. This is no small feat, and it's this gym at this location that turned it all around. I gotta give credit where credit's due, which is to the trainers that run their many many classes. Because of them, I've lost more weight in two months than in two years at my old gym, in addition to just being stronger overall. It's basic stuff too: they push you to go further, harder, faster, but without ANY shaming. They want you to succeed and give you every tip to get you there. Basic, but so necessary. They know your name and your struggles, and every one has your back. In all honesty though, the gym itself is kinda rough. You have a couple carts with some crusty towels and spray disinfectant to wipe down your nastiness, which feels like it wouldn't even work. The drinking fountain is crusty too, the last time I filled my water something black and fuzzy popped out of the drain to say, "Hey!" Plus, no legit scale. Just a cheap plastic scale in the bathroom. Personally, I like the old school doctor's scale. This place gets packed after work, which isn't too bad if you're coming for classes but if you want some weight time, you have some creative positioning ahead of you. The classes keep me coming back, and are definitely worth the money. I don't use the gym facilities as much, reasons being the comments I made above, but the classes are so damn awesome it over shadows this gym's flaws. read more
