I was rear-ended by a truck and brought my vehicle in for a quote and what I hoped would be repair to my vehicle. I was informed by insurance company that vehicle was deemed a total loss and that I needed to pick up my vehicle (still drive-able) and return my rental. When I attempted to pick up my vehicle, Christine from Warwick Collision Center refused to let me take my vehicle. She said I could not retrieve until my insurance company paid for the cost of the quote and storage. Unfortunately, it took several months before this was straightened out between the two insurance companies. Warwick Collision Center kept charging $30 per day for storage while this was being sorted by the insurance companies. In the end, there was an additional $2,500 in storage charges that ended up getting paid by me. I contacted Christine and requested that this amount be credited and she said she would check with her Supervisor. I never heard back from Christine, and she failed to return several calls that I placed. In addition, my vehicle was not stored in a garage. When my wife went to retrieve some personal items, it was located in an empty, uncovered, security-less parking lot next to Home Depot on Bald Hill Ave. The battery was dead, the electronic key to the vehicle was broken. The vehicle was not protected from the elements due to damage to the trunk. When my wife opened the trunk, there was a family of mice living amongst her belongings. I advise that you think twice before doing business with this company due to their lack of integrity and professionalism.

There is nothing good about having your car damaged in an accident. The only good thing was, I didn't have to think about where to bring the car. I already knew, because of what happened to my son. He'd been in his own accident, a year before mine, and I was in New York City when it happened, too far away to do anything but worry. Richard Porcelli did what I couldn't. He sent a tow truck. He took my son under his wing the way a parent would, calmed him down, sat with him through one of the worst days of his life. I wasn't there for that. Richard was. I don't forget things like that, and I wasn't about to take my own car anywhere else. Porcelli's has been on Providence Street in West Warwick for more than forty years, and there's a difference between a business that's been doing something a long time and one that's just been open a long time. Those aren't the same thing. You can feel which one you're standing in. My insurance adjuster, a man I'd never met before this, told me flat out that his company likes working with Porcelli's. Honest, he said. Good work. Integrity. That's not a word insurance adjusters throw around freely about anyone. I ended up not at fault, so no deductible, and Porcelli's set me up with a rental. Given how the insurance company usually handles that part, I was bracing for whatever the cheapest available option was. Instead I drove off in a 2024 Jeep Compass. I was pleasantly surprised, though knowing Porcelli's by then, I probably shouldn't have been. The adjuster told me not to expect the car back before August 28th. I got the call today, August 6th, that it's done. It still needs an inspection, and instead of telling me to bring it back separately for that, they told me they'd put it up right away so it would already be finished by the time I came to get it. Nobody asked for that. It just happened, the same way it happened for my son, which is really the whole point. Porcelli's doesn't perform well once. It performs the same way every time. It's not an exaggeration to say that Porcelli's will treat you like family. If you ever find yourself needing them, and I hope you don't, you'll understand exactly why I told you to come here.
