came by here to get a cold cut for lunch, the staff was very friendly, and it was kind of funny they were so close it was like watching a sitcom live. so, I ordered an Italian combo on a roll and a small pasta salad. made in matter of second really since I was looking around and my order was done. I do agree with others about the pricing, but it's understandable with inflation. Plus, I do agree the building is old, but it has charm and was pretty clean and organized. My sandwich was great, plenty of meat and great bread. The pasta salad was good, but it did have bit more oil than necessary. overall, I will have to try more since the hot food that was recommended looked good. read more

I come here for the roast beef. It's store made, beautifully rare and it's not over seasoned. I can't speak to the complaints I read because I've never had the pizza but the deli side doesn't disappoint. Used to go there all the time growing up in Montgomery, and it's not the same. Now? Be prepared to pay top dollar for bad food and service. I have had 2 interactions with them in 2 weeks, and will never return. First time I was rudely yelled at on the phone for providing the wrong address (didn't) and the guy on the other end shouted "Well then strangers have your pizza." Figured the guy had a bad day, so I let it go. Ordered today - half burnt, half raw DISGUSTING and inedible food. Done with them forever. Mike's isn't the only place in town anymore. I came to this deli a few days ago to grab some lunch during a training. I got a pre-made sandwich, a small container of pasta salad, a bottle of soda and a bottle of water. Total? $14. Yeah, ouch. The sandwich was good, it had breaded eggplant, red peppers, cheese and salami on foccacia bread. The pasta salad was tasty as well, but had way too much oil. A couple of other people at the training ordered sandwiches, and it was noticed that that a lot of mistakes were made when making the sandwiches, and they were generous on the meat, but skimpy on tomatoes, using what was literally described as "tomato shavings." It was okay, not sure I would try again, if I could find a better priced alternative. read more

The worse place ever. Disgusting place is old and musty. Disgusting again. Guys are rude. Disgusting. Ordered a slice on the way home from the Middletown Galleria was so hungry. Ordered pizza to be delivered to school. Called when they never showed - told it would be any minute. Showed up 25 minutes late. Charged $6 more than quoted over the phone. Absolutely disgusted with this service. read more

So went in the other day because everyone was ordering from there and I didn't feel like driving - I order a turkey sandwich on a ROLL- nothing else...9.25$....I was charged 9.25 for a sandwich on a roll...went to another place today, turkey SUB and a bag of chips for 9.30$...that's what wrong with Mike's...needless to say I'll be driving to other spots , last strike. read more

When I moved to NY last year, I wanted to have the "NY Deli" experience. I was referred here and I have to say, to date I have not had a better deli sandwich. I loved it! The put a lot of meat and the guy was cool. The only thing that keeps me coming back more is the price. You think the outside looks bad? Don't glance into the kitchen! This place is DISGUSTING. They make the pizzas in the morning and then leave them out all day, putting toppings on and throwing them in that nasty excuse of an oven when ordered. The kitchen is falling apart and the freezer is by far the worst. Your food is NEVER fresh here, they make it a week in advance. They are ridiculously overpriced for such bad quality. I ordered a three foot sub and a tray of wings two days in advance. I notified them I would pick it up at 10:00 AM and as I was on my way there, they called to say there was a problem from their bakery getting the sub roll. They offered an alternative tray of subs instead of the 3 foot sub. I arrived at 10:10 AM and they hadn't even started to make it yet and had to wait for delivery. I was told that the sub tray was cheaper and had more food, but they wrong up the bill and it was still the same price. MIke's Deli in the heart of the village of Montgomery is a real deli that makes a real sandwich. The proportion of a sub makes it or breaks it for me. Since I have been going there, the subs have pretty much been consistently well proportion. I love a fat sub and that is how they make it. The put a lot of meat so you get a great tasting sub. The average sub costs around 7-8 dollars. It is pretty much in line for the area. One of the owners, Maryanne is very pleasant and remembers just how I like it. That really makes a difference to me. They use and change their gloves while they make your sandwich, which is a plus since I have gone places that either haven't or when they have they left the gloves on and handled money....You might as well not even wear the gloves if you handle money with them. Occasionally, I see Paul Sr. in the back sitting at the counter (the Pizza parlor side) eating. He probably agrees with me on their food an portions. If you're in Montgomery, give Mike's deli a visit and grab a sub. You won't be disappointed. read more
