Found Mike's Mufflers on yelp and decided to try them because of the reviews. They exceeded my expectations. I had a CEL with a P0420 code (catalytic converter efficiency low). Marty was very helpful over the phone and when I went down there made sure they were putting in the right part. In verifying the numbers on the car he noticed that I was missing the emissions sticker on the hood. Something I overlooked when I bought the car since it had the hood repainted. Marty even called the dealership to order the part for me. Once I got it, I came back a couple days later during my lunch time and they installed it quickly! Even had a great conversation. I know they do real good work and original took my lowered 87 Nissan truck there in the early 90. So I decided to drive from Temple City and take the same truck to get a new muffler. While they were getting the truck on the rack, they tore my brake line and the guy driving it told me it was like that already. Well if it was, there wasn't any trial of brake fluid from where I had parked it earlier in front of the shop. The only trial of break fluid was in front of the garage. So I decided to take my truck to my mechanic who looked at it and asked if I had hit something? My car is coming close to 20 years old and the catalytic converter is starting to finally fail, after having a run-in with a bad oxygen sensor two years ago. It will almost certainly need to be replaced next November to pass the smog exam. My local dealership, fishing for $$$ as usual, said to me by phone that replacing it would take two days and cost as much as $4000.00. Friends of mine strongly recommended this place, and I dropped by to consult today with Mike. I felt at ease immediately in his shop. He took the time to speak with me, and said that when this is all said and done, he can get me in and out in about an hour or two on an appointment, for $250.00 or so. His shop bends their own pipe & Mike discussed the models of CATS that he has on hand. I can tell right off the bat, this man is as honest as a summer's day is long. One of my friends is a lady who just retired from her job at Chef's Restaurant. She took her daughter's car there once. Mike could have done the repairs for her for cash, but instead told her that he heard about her car model, and the problem was a warranty issue; so he said that she needed to go to her dealership and "...get that fixed for free rather than paying me your hard-earned money for this..." She went to her dealer and they repaired it for free. She did just that, and has been a loyal customer of his since on other muffler repairs. Went here for a downpipe leak and muffler delete. They welded the downpipe for $30, no issues. Muffler delete with a new pipe didnt hold up because of the material and came back for a refund. They assessed the issue and realized it was not my fault and refunded my money, no hassles. Mike and his staff and amazing! They are both efficient and sweet. When my cat converter failed on me, I was quoted over $1000 for my Honda Accord 2007 because it required an OEM part. I called into Mike's Muffler and they went through the trouble of calling into Honda for me. They took my VIN number to find the exact discounted price that Honda provided them. The total came to about $780 + tax. Wow! When I came in to place my deposit, they were extremely helpful. They double checked that they couldn't find my part on Aftermarket and explained to me how my cat converter could have failed so early on (I'm a complete car noob). They told me I can come in as early as tomorrow and were so quick and efficient with installing the part that I was able to fix my car during my lunch break. Thank you! Awesome experience! Marty was great on the phone and I drove all the way from Glendale to have my front 02 sensor and cat replaced in my 2001 VW Beetle (because I got a good quote). Couldn't have passed smog without a new cat it seems. I was in and out in maybe an hour with Ermay doing the job. Such pros here for sure! Chatted with Mike and Marty while they let me sit and observe (I actually like to watch my car repairs - I've had so many). Right off the freeway too. I originally met Mike in 1990 and immediately liked him. He is a super cool guy, honest and does great work and I've been bringing my cars to him ever since. However there was a 7 year or so gap between visits and I last time I went in, I met Danny. I've always wondered when he was going to hire another guy for he's always so busy. I noticed Mike is more on the business end now and doesn't do too much hands on anymore except when it gets really busy. Hey, I don't blame him as he's the owner and been doing this for over 30 years. Well I hate to be the only semi bad review on here but Danny was the one who did my car and his work was just not as good as Mikes. He is not as detail oriented as Mike is and his welding is a bit sloppy. He seemed like he just wanted to get the job finished and move on to the next car. Maybe it was a bad day for him, who knows. I didn't say anything to Mike and I ended up going somewhere else to have it cleaned up. Don't get me wrong, Danny is a really nice guy but he just needs a bit more experience IMO. Mike is awesome and honest like I said and won't try to cheat you but if I do visit his shop again, I will request that he does the job. read more

I called in for an appointment and it was smooth, they called me on the day to remind me of the appointment and that was nice too. When it was time to install my exhaust system, mike installed it himself and he did an incredible job. Seeing them work on the cars, it shows how much experience they have under their belt. Cool shop awesome people. My only issue with going here was the wait. There was only me and another person getting work done, and I got there at 1pm and left at 5pm. Just to straight pipe my car......this should have been a 30mins or less job. I had the guy working on my car constantly having side convos with the other muffler guys. I had to keep following up with the guy working on my car and get him back on track. I decided to try these guys out and dont get me wrong, its good work. But I believe that if the shop ain't busy, I should be in and out of there in a jiffy. read more

I spoke with Mike briefly on the phone and he was very friendly and helpful. When I got to the shop and met Mike in person, he was so curteous, professional and very easy to deal with. The cost for parts and labor were in line with all of the places I've called previously. When I was waiting for my car to be finished, he tried putting a muffler on my car when I specifically told him I didnt want a muffler and only a resonater.
