They custom bent a pipe to properly connect the new mufflers to the stock piping, and even fabricated a hanger to properly support the new exhaust system, so no cutting corners there. Before calling it done, they checked in to make sure the exhaust tips were aligned and even to my liking -- that attention to detail goes a long way. Went into office and asked how much it would be. The daughter told me it would be $140.00 for Bullet muffler and $40.00 more with resonator delete. Once the guy cut stock muffler, they let me hear each muffler that I picked before they welded permanently. To make sure it was the sound I wanted. Helpful and the work is done fairly quick. Took about one and a half hours to get out of there considering they had a couple customers ahead of me. Good prices. Would definitely recommend. Beware of this shop. Worst welding shop I ever have been. I need a custom piping for car's muffler. So, They cut my original pipe. However , they refuse to finish at the middle of the work. Since the old man there claimed they got no time on it. What a joke?! May be other customer has a more pricely project for then... um.. So then I took it elsewhere and turns out this place did not give the right catalytic converter for my car so I was going to have to replace it again with the right one this time. I called them to tell them and they refused to resolve the issue. Needed a new aftermarket catalytic for my car and Pepe's was suggested to me by the smog place I go to in Pasadena. I first wondered how a busy smog shop in Pasadena sends their customers needing brand new catalytics all the way to El Monte. I've known my smog guy Alen for several years and he's a stand-up guy. I knew he wouldnt send me somewhere he didnt trust himself. I called Pepe's and I first wanted to know if they had one to fit my car. Rene was very helpful and assured me they did. He was definitely informative and knowledgeable on the phone so that was reassuring. I was quoted a good price for my replacement catalytic converter and I made my way to El Monte. Pepe's is on the backside of an automotive repair plaza along Durfee. The place was busy when I got there. I was helped right away. I had some questions and they answered all of them. The warranty was 5 years or 50,000 miles but unfortunately they only had one brand in the size catalytic I needed. I was familiar with the brand so I was fine with it. I waited maybe 20-30 mins as they had 2 cars on the 2 lifts they were working on when I got there and there was 1 other car ahead of me. As soon as my car was on the lift (you drive it onto the Worth lift yourself) they began working on it and replacing the cat right away. I also asked them to check if my other exhaust gaskets needed replacing and they checked all of those by having me start the car after the cat was installed. Thankfully all were still intact and I didnt need to replace any of them. Great service. Good people. Great prices. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Oh and I passed smog. Went to Pepe's muffler shop to make my exhaust a little louder than stock. They did a really poor job on the welding; not only they weren't alignment right, but also causes leaks and rattles. After going back two times to ask them to fix the exhaust leak that was cased by them, they did not fix the problem. The car still makes a loud rattle noise and still have exhaust leaks while driving. If you want a unprofessional job, then go to them!! read more

I used to bring my car here for the smaller exhaust jobs or when I was on a tight budget. It is true that you get what you pay for. The pricing here is cheap and staff are friendly but you pay for the bad quality work. What I learned over the in the past from coming here: -the welds are hideous -they don't bother to double check if everything looks right and is STRAIGHT. On my most recent visit, I brought my car in for them to do a resonance/drone pipe (they call it a "cut out") because the interior drone is almost unbearable and it made a high pitch buzz. The guy finished it in less than 10minutes. As soon as I started driving, the car felt totally different. There was no change in drone. The buzz is still there but changed very slightly. My car felt sluggish as if there's back pressure now.. I went to remove my exhaust today and I found out why.. they cut into my midpipe for the drone pipe and did not smooth out the inside of the pipe. So this whole time there has been a metal flap blocking my exhaust flow (refer to attached pic). Not only that, it is directing the exhaust flow into the drone pipe which defeats the entire purpose of a drone pipe.. Now I have to spend more time and money to get it fixed.. Sorry but I've finally learned and will not be coming back. read more

2 weeks after I been to this muffler shop I just became really annoyed by the way my axle back came out. I took in a brand new axle back with hardware, when they were finished, it looked second hand. The welds and the bends on the pipe, HORRIBLE. It seems as if all they want to do is finish the job as soon as possible totally disregarding coustomer service. When you see the pictures I'll post you will see exactly want I mean. Very unprofessional and rude when I try to explain exactly how I want the exhaust to be. I had bubble wrap on the axle back just to ensure it doesn't get scratched up. They ended up removing it and toss it everywhere as they were taking measurements! I was recommended by a smog shop to come over here for a new cat, called in and got a price and went in the same morning. When I get there I had to wait a while just to get greeted and have them acknowledge I was there trying to get a new cat installed. After waiting they finally get the car up on the lift and got the cat changed out, I asked for the old cat back because I was told I am allowed to keep it. Why not right? It is my car part off my own car. I saw someone else take theirs as well. But when I asked the guy shouted NO and told me I can't have it. I asked why? He said because you just can't? with attitude I went ahead and told him I saw somebody else take theirs earlier while I was waiting. He told me I was seeing things... WTF? this guy is a asshole. I went ahead and said okay than and I was getting ready to pay he decides to charge me another $5 more I told him I was the person who called 2 hours earlier and what he quoted me at. He said he doesn't remember quoting anybody that price and after some more going back and fourth he said fine again with attitude. I asked about the warranty on the cat converter, how am I suppose to have proof of purchase without a receipt? This guy gets piss and writes me a receipt all sloppy with info that isn't even correct on it. At this point I was irritated already and I just snatched the receipt from him and left. So now the new cat converter is rattling... why? Because their welds on the cat is horrible. I'm not even going to bother taking it back to these asshalts, and would rather pay somebody else to re-weld the whole thing. read more
