I've been wanting to try Mike's for sooo long and finally got around to ordering this past weekend. We tried a grandma, pesto and spinach artichoke. I like the fact that you can pizzettes so you can try a variety of pizzas. Our favorite pie by far was the pesto. Definitely unlike any other pizza I've had before! We also loved the grandma, but it didn't have any basil which we were confused about (could just be the way they make it). The spinach and artichoke was fine, but nothing out of the ordinary. Maybe if we had a larger pie of it, we would've thought differently. The main reason I'm giving Mike's 3 stars however is due to delivery. We had a set delivery time and I'm totally ok with things running late if there is communication about the status. It was 15 minutes behind delivery time and I had to reach out about where our pizza was. They informed us it would be 10-15 minutes which was fine. It got to be 25 minutes later and still no pizza or update. I had to text again for them to tell me they mixed up our order and were getting us the right one. After this update, they said max 20 minutes. Our pizza arrived 30 minutes after this last communication. Overall, we waited an extra hour and 15 minutes for our pizza which took us to 9:15 at night. I do appreciate them correcting the pizza order and making it warm for when it arrived here, however, I do not appreciate the lack of communication and did not even get a sorry when the pizza was delivered so late. If we do order again, I would order way earlier and not on a Friday night. read more

This place has a slightly unusual concept (texting orders and delivery only), but the food is out of this world. Any of the square pizzas is spot-on and full of flavor, unlike many pizzerias. Their dough tastes more complex than most other pizzerias too, being almost sourdough-like (in the best possible way). And, unlike most other pizzerias, their pepperoni pies have the highly sought-after "'Roni cups." Their fried calamari is also the best I've ever had, and I think I finally realized why: the coating tastes very much like the coating on KFC fried chicken! Incredible! As to their pastas, I've tried both their Amatriciana and their Pappardelle. Both were outstanding. Huge white truffle flavor on the pappardelle which, even if it's not, has a homemade texture. Better than most "sit-down" Italian restaurants, as long as you can get over the fact that it comes in a cardboard box for transport. For my money, Mike's has the best pizza and Italian food on Long Island, and I get it multiple times per week, despite having to drive 20 minutes for the pleasure. The only piece of constructive criticism I can offer is that I wish the bottom crust on their round pies was thinner. As is, it gives the pie just a little too much "chew" per bite. read more

The pizza looked good but it was lacking in cheese and sauce. A corner of a Sicilian pie I ordered was 90% dough. The dough was the worst part of it, unfortunately. It was very chewy like old Italian bread. I've never had to put so much effort into eating a pizza before. read more

Unreal...I've heard about this place now for a few weeks and have been waiting to get there and eat...but here in lies the problem. There is no "go here and eat". Delivery only, Massapequa/Amityville is the area they deliver too. You have to text the number listed above and they will send you a menu. You want fresh, tasty homemade pizza the way it's supposed to be then order from them. We don't live in the delivery area/zone so we went and picked it up. They met us in Amityville. Seriously, amazing pizza. We got a grandmas, and it's way better than any grandmas I ever had. I'm not a huge pizza snob, but I know a great pie when I find one and this is it. The pizza is just hands down delicious. The crust is amazing. Its definitely out of the ordinary ordering via text message but worth it. We got a Mike's Special which was awesome and a Meatball Parm roll. The roll was a little underwhelming by the time I got it home but figure it will be amazing reheated in the oven. Mikes has been the talk all over Facebook. We finally got the chance to try! We ordered a regular pizza with sausage and pepperoni, chicken roll, and a sausage roll. I don't think words can describe how delicious the food was. After picking up the pizza, we had about a 15 minute drive home and the pizza was still HOT. The food was INCREDIBLE. So worth the 20 minute drive. The crust is so light and fluffy and I've never had fresher pizza in my whole life. The flavors were so complex and flavorful. The sauce itself was so incredible and there were different types of cheese that added to the complexity. The crust was perfectly charred and crunchy just how I love it. Love the "secret" pizza concept. We decided to give Mike's a try for our regular pizza night. We did a 1/2 Neapolitan 1/2 Mike's Special. The Mike's special has pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onion, and mushrooms. Generally a very crispy crust but next time we'll get a slice with a feel less toppings. I think it made the middle of the pie a bit soggy for the first few bites weren't crisp. Overall great dough, sauce and flavor. And col experience of meeting the driver at burns park. read more

I found out about Mike's through a friend's food blog a couple weeks ago and had no idea they operated right in my hometown. The concept is cool - you text your order (although now it seems like the texting is unnecessary and you just order online) and if you're not within 2 miles delivery range, then you pick it up at an arranged pick up spot. I am within delivery range and the delivery driver always came in a fancy shirt which was fun. We've had the clam pie, vodka Sicilian, and Detroit-style with pepperoni. Clam pie was the first pie we had and our favorite; it was delicious. The other 2 were as well. However; the last couple times I've ordered the crust has been really burnt so much so that when we ordered it last night we ate around it. For the price you're paying for this pizza, it is disappointing to miss out on a big chunk of eating it. Clam pie was about $32 the others around the same. I think Mikes is great for ordering specialty flavors and their Detroit is very unique. Would recommend ordering either on Wednesday/Thursday or during afternoon hours because it seems like pizza we've ordered in less busy hours came out a little better. If you're looking for a unique flavor that you haven't tried before, I would say splurge on Mikes. But if you are just ordering a typical regular pie for friends last minute, might be fine with your usual spot. read more

The pizza here is always great, but yesterday's Sicilian pie was the worst we've ever had. I have to say, I usually order the Grandma and ordered the Sicilian by mistake, but I was shocked at how bad it was. The crust as burnt and was not overall what we have experienced with this establishments pies. And additionally, the prices for toppings.... we paid 8.00 for mushrooms and wanted onions, but onions cost way less than sausage and anchovies, yet onion and garlic toppings are $8.00, same as sausage and anchovies, which would be pricey anyway.... Sadly to say we threw most of it out, where we usually either finish it or save the left overs for re-heating. I guess at this point what we thought was a sure thing, seems like it's moving toward hit or miss. And the toppings prices are prohibitive. read more

Just revived our order. We ordered a regular pizza 1/2 pepperoni. It was really good. Nice hand sliced pepperoni The pie was cooked to perfection Also ordered the margarita pie. Kept seeing reviews of Mike's Pizza on social media, finally we experienced it for ourselves tonight. It was an unbelievable experience. We ordered a sausage/pepperoni pie and a chicken parm roll and sausage/pepper/onion roll. The crust on all was unbelievable never tasted one like it. Everyone in the family thought the pie was excellent, we will definitely be picking up more in the future. The chicken roll was very good as well. We save the sausage roll for tomorrow.
