This local legend is the only pizza cove in New York!! PAPPALARDO's has great weekly & family specials that are among some of the best pizza deals around! The service is always great providing bright smiles & always friendly!! They also have some of the best Italian ice flavors around, Tropical Rainbow baby!!

This is a new review, because yelp would not let me update my old one. I previously had an experience at the restaurant that did not go so well, and the manager reached out to me and made things right. The pizza here is phenomenal, and the people who take your order on the phone are so friendly. I am so happy that the manager took the time to reach out to us, hear our concerns, And take appropriate action. Keep up the great work, I look forward to eating this delicious pizza again soon!

Where's the meat???? Taste like paste and not pasta

This place back in the day was next to a dance club and did great business... I received a offer in the weekender paper for meat lasagna for $8...Thursday night special...well let me tell you , there was nothing special about it ...it was so bad , we didn't even eat it..... dont waste your time or your money there as if you do, you cannot say you were not warned .....this place is just bad....

This & several other 2 liter diet cokes in their fridge behind the counter were nearly 4 months past the best by date

OOPS! YOU DID IT AGAIN! Glad to see nothing has changed since my last review. Thanks for the 2 liter soda 6 months behind the best by date. My dad got this yesterday, 4/27/22 & the soda is dated 10/18/21. I contemplated on my last review if you're using products beyond the best by date... after this happening AGAIN w/ soda, I'm confident you are. Done with this place! Update again, 4/28/22; my dad went back with the soda & they gave him money back. It should've ended there but instead, they told him his coupon was expired. It was MY coupon & it wasn't expired so I called pappalardos & this is how I was spoken to by Joe pappalardo (the owner): he told my coupon was 3 years expired - LOL WHAT - & asking when I received it. I told him the coupon was very much valid (SEE THE PICTURE, clearly valid till 4/30/22) & how this is the 2nd time of them having expired soda. He asked if he "should go beat up the guy who sent that email" bc he supposedly opted out of that email program & how (supposedly) no one else comes in with that coupon (sure Joe, sure). He also asked me, "why are you calling me during dinner", he stated he's almost 70 years old (congratulations?) & that he buys his soda from 2 different stop&shops (1 being the Hicksville rd location), essentially deflecting the blame to stop&shop. Take some responsibility & accountability! Joe left me a voicemail apologizing that my coupon was in fact valid, but still blaming stop&shop. Sorry not sorry, this man is A KOOK. Myself & my family will never give this place business again. I don't need mediocre pizza with a side of attitude & a cup of 6 month expired soda.

My friend wanted to try so we stopped in, I got the NY Style round and a Roman Styler Diavola (Hot Soppressata, Cherry Peppers, Mikes Hot Honey, Burrata). I wasn't expecting much, but was blown away. The Traditional NY Style was a 10 out of 10 - Crispy crust that still had some chew to it, flavorful sauce but not artificially sweet, savory Mozzarella, salty romano cheese and topped with fresh basil leaves. Delicious and the best I have had on Long Island. The Diavola Slice was also impressive. The flavor punch of the Cherry Peppers, Soppressata coupled with the sweetness of the hot honey were a perfect match for the fluffy roman crust. I definitely think the toppings matter with the roman style crust, if it too delicate then the crust overpowers the slice. Not with this, the Diavola gets a 9 out of 10 for a specialty slice. Great Pizza.

The place remains popular as it was quite busy for a weekday evening when I went in. Despite that, I ordered immediately, they move very quickly and the service was good + fast! According to one of the staff members, they're known for their buffalo chicken and bbq chicken slices. I ordered buffalo chicken, the Serra, and a regular pepperoni. The pepperoni was my favorite. The buffalo chicken slice was fairly decent considering I don't care for other buffalo chicken slices. It appeared to be popcorn chicken tossed in buffalo sauce and with a light drizzle of blue cheese dressing on top, so hard to mess up. Additionally the Serra was fine as well, possibly needing a boost in the flavors (or salt) since it was just sauce. It seems like a decent, casual place to sit in and grab a quick bite, they had some cocktails on the menu that looked interesting and I'll keep in mind for next time. Overall, I look forward to coming back and trying other items

Every time I visit I always grab a few pizzas to bring home and I always make sure to ask to upgrade to DOP ingredients. This place is as authentic as it gets. From the oven, which was imported from Naples, to the owner being a certified pizzaiolo, and the amount of DOP ingredients in use and available, there's a level of care and respect for Neapolitan pizza that you can taste in the each pizza. The ingredients are excellent, the crust is consistently great, the dough has the perfect chew , and nothing feels like an afterthought. Over the years they've grown in popularity and have added several new items on the menu, to include pizzas, but the ones that stay constant in my rotation are Moms, The Margareta (DOP), and the meatball with ricotta. For me, they make the best neopolitan pizza on Long Island. I also love that it's connected to the pork store next door. There's something about the whole setup that feels like a throwback to my childhood and the kind of Italian American places I grew up around that seem like there's so few of today. Going to Saverio's is more than just grabbing a pizza. There's whole experience has a warmth and authenticity to it that's increasingly hard to find...and while you're waiting for your pizza, going next door and buying some food, whether it's cold cuts, cheeses, or pasta is very much a part of the experience. Saverios is genuinely one of a few places I always look forward to visiting when I'm on the Island. You should check it out if you haven't already.

I definitely think these pies are best eaten fresh out of the oven when you can really get that nice crunch, but even after bringing them home, they still tasted pretty damn good. What made it fun was ordering a variety so the whole family could try a little bit of everything. Everyone ended up having their own favorite, which always makes for a good debate at the table. Mine was definitely the fig--the combination of flavors just worked for me. Good pizza, great service and a fun way to do pizza night with the family. Next time, I'm grabbing a slice straight out of the oven!

I see my friends mostly at wakes now and my ride fell down on me, so here in Jamaica i stand. For all who've not been, it is about the dirtiest, most germy place per square foot in NYCs transportation world. Its the kind of place I hope you'll never ever see in your life. Everybody's bumping into you and yelling about track changes, looking like a bunch of morons who think they're going somewhere important. Anyway, I ended up getting off at Massepequa and going to Leonardo's Pizza hoping they had a beer but they didn't, figures. First, I had the Italian Wedding Soup. It arrived looking like a drowned swamp with all those stringy, pale noodles swirling around in the broth like a bunch of white wigglers, similarto what i had for first lunchies. They were just sitting there next to these limp green leaves and the carrots were just floating in it. It's like the soup is trying to convince you it's healthy, but the whole thing just looks depressing. You take a bite, and it tastes, well, it tastes rather good, but the name is what really gets me. "Italian Wedding Soup." That's a odd name if I ever heard one. What does soup have to do with getting married? It just makes you think of a bunch of grandmothers crying and guys in rented tuxedos talking about their golf handicaps and portfolios. Plus I'm never getting married again, never ever - i learned my lesson. Then came the Detroit Slice. It sat there on a paper plate next to my copy of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, which was the only thing in my whole damn life that's keeping me company. Look at the edge of that crust--it's burnt to a crisp. Black as night, dark as spadesbut maybetgats how they do it on Long Island. The sauce is piled right down the middle like a thick red streak, covered in all these little dried oregano herbs I applied. I sat there eating this cheesy crusted square, staring at Mark Twain on the cover, and I swear it made me feel sad. Not because the book is terrible, it reminded me of my childhood, another complete disaster. The pizza actually had that crispy, cheesy edge going for it, I'll give them that, but because it felt lonely eating alone in public,vi never do that. Me, Samuel Clements and a thick slice of pizza on a cheap paper plate. Next time I'll be sure to eat out with someone fun.
