I was in Grand Rapids visiting from Florida and Mike's had recently opened their doors less than a couple of miles from where I was staying so we decided to give them a try. We ordered the Chicago style pizza with everything except anchovies for pick up. They told us it would be ready in 20 minutes- and it was! The pizzeria itself has a comfortable and welcoming ambiance. The staff was friendly and offered a couple of good topping suggestions while I was on the phone placing our order. The hard copy menu offered many items not mentioned on their website; which is a shame. We would have ordered more than just the pizza if we'd known. The pizza was still hot when we got it home. The sauce had interesting zing to it and it tasted great!! If I didn't live in FL I'd add Mike's to my favorites!! read more

Went a few days ago with Friends for dinner. I have had take out a few times but this is the first time eating in. Really cozy atmosphere, not too big. They have a great draft beer selection. More than your Bud Lights and Miller Lites. Not a lot of choices but very good beers. I went for the Yuenling and it was delicious. For dinner, I felt just like having a sub so I got the BLT sub and it was fantastic. I only had a bite of dessert but the table ordered mini cannolis. These were very good over all. This is our local favorite! Whether ordering takeout or dining in, everyone is always so friendly and attentive. The pizzas are delicious and we always make sure to get Mike's Blend on our crust. Dine-in seating is limited but comfortable and with a cozy ambiance. They have a limited bar, if you're in the mood, or various soft drinks. First time we ate at Mike's Pizzeria, and have to report - it was great. The service was prompt and friendly from Emily who was very attentive to our needs. Our table was private. We each had a sandwich and shared loaded fries, which were covered in "real cheese and real bacon" - nothing fake here. I was in town a couple weeks ago not for vacation but under sad circumstances this time. On my last night in Michigan, instead of cooking because we were tired and burned out after a long day we went with take-out pizza. My cousins boyfriend placed the order and timed everything just right because when he arrived back the pizza was piping hot. Went with a large pepperoni with half mushrooms, half sausage along with breadsticks. I liked how pillowy they were along with the sprinkling of parmesan on them. The pizza had a nice amount of melty cheese on it and the sauce was pretty tasty. The toppings although were simple but the sausage and pepperoni was good in flavor. I love the pizza at Fratelli's when we're in the downtown area, but I let my cousin and boyfriend know that if we're staying in this is the pizza to go with. read more

I first learned of Mike through a hot sub my person brought home after a long day of remote work. What a joy it was to skip making dinner and instead enjoy the hard work and passion of this lovely human. The Italian Sub was perfect (a generous foot-long): flavorful meats and fresh ingredients that blended seamlessly. Capicola, ham, pepperoni, salami, provolone, banana peppers, crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, Italian dressing, and oregano--every bite felt like a warm hug from home. As a Jersey girl who often misses the abundance of good Italian-American food, I was thrilled to find a piece of home here. My gorgeous Meat-Lover opted for the Meat Lover Sub. Dinner was quiet--as it often is when the food is that good--and he respectfully and happily polished it off. When Mike asked for my name, I made sure to thank him for his work. That sub was so good, I couldn't bring myself to stray from it on my visit to the restaurant--I knew I'd find comfort in the familiar. The experience didn't stop there. Another kind staff member noticed my interest in the giant chocolate chip cookies displayed by the register. Speckled with what looked like sea salt, they were already tempting enough, but when I learned the salt was "Scandinavian," I was completely sold. "Bougie," he shared, and for those who love the finer things, it was the perfect touch for a massive delight. Naturally, my person followed suit and got one too. The staff was busy but precious--smiling and confident, as though they knew they weren't just serving great food but also creating a memorable experience. We ordered the Chicago deep dish and a GF supreme w/o cheese for pickup. Both pizzas were fantastic. My husband says the Chicago was the best he's had in years. The gf/df was great too even without cheese! The server who took our order over the phone was very helpful and accommodating when it came to customizing my pizza. Mike's Pizza is always solid - HIGHLY recommend the stromboli. It's dynamite. Today I had a pepperoni sub for lunch take out; also fantastic. It was similar to Mancino's pizza grinder, but better. Tons of toppings, nice quality sauce, perfectly toasted sub roll, 10/10. Only suggestion would be have little bags of Ruffles either included in the price of the sub, or have them for sale separately. There's a gas station next door where I remedied this, would have been nice to get it all in one stop. read more

I could say Mikes pizzeria has the best subs in the area. I think more appropriately; Mike's has the best Italian sub I've ever had. Pizza and breadsticks are also outstanding. If you haven't given them a try, you really should. I've gotten several co-workers and friends to give it a try and they all said the same thing, this is some damn good food. Service is really good aswell, always making sure i'm getting exactly what I want. Overall, I couldn't recommend Mike's pizza enough, they really do knock it out of the park with every visit. read more
