Ok this review is LOOOOOONG overdue. I have used the service department a few times at this place because it was recommended by a coworker. So from personal experience I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. They are expensive and it takes them a long time to make the necessary repairs. Especially if your a walk in. I only chose Mike's repair because it happened to be the first business card at my local mechanic and i was in a time crunch so I didn't have time to research. I called Mike's repair at 8am and they said they would be able to retrieve my car (15 min away from their location) in a "few hours." 12:30pm i call them - they said another hour to hour and a half. I should have cancelled at this point but just wanted it to be done with. They finally came with a tow truck at 4:45pm to get my car - nothing said, no apologies for the wait. The weather had been sunny and beautiful all day so no excuse either weather-wise for an 8 hour delay. Eight hours of waiting for a tow truck and nothing said. Don't go here, not a trustworthy place to fix your car. Only offers "6 months parts and labor" warranties where elsewhere it's at least 12 months/12K miles. Had an alternator replaced here January 2016 for about $400 and it was defective as I had to get it replaced this past weekend at Monroe's (recommend going here if you can). On average, alternators last 7 years (80K-150K). I talked to someone here and I explained to them the situation and they were unwilling to help me out in any way nor stand by their service (or lack thereof). These are shady people beware. My car was towed and I take full responsibility for parking in a location I should not have parked and I am more than happy to pay my dues for it, however, this place has some shady practices going on. My car was towed away on a Saturday night and was on their lot for at best 2.5 hours, they were not open on Sunday so at best I could pick it up on Monday. I show up as soon as they claim to be open on Monday to find out that they aren't actually open and still need to go through paperwork and tell me I need to wait an hour before getting help and getting my car back. After all the time waiting I then discover that they are charging me for my car being there 3 days and them citing the "Somerville City Ordinance". Well upon further investigation the ordinance reads and this is a direct copy and paste from the city's documentation "Day of storage shall be the date in which the vehicle arrives at the storage facility and day 2 shall be the time in which the facility opens on the following day after the vehicle arrives at the storage facility" Let me point out the fact that the ordinance says "day 2 shall be the time in which the facility opens on THE FOLLOWING DAY after the vehicle arrives". Well if you are closed how can that possibly be the following day? Also if you weren't open at the time for me to pick up the vehicle how can that count as well. They were also threatening to add additional charges and make me pay more money because of my "attitude". This is a shady business, these are shady people with no respect. Let me just start by saying I have never in my life written a review on a business. If there was an option to have zero stars that is the rating that I would give this company. My 2001 dodge intrepid broke down at 6 pm on my way to work Sunday night. Mikes towing came to tow my car to their yard for me. On Monday I spoke to the mechanic and was told the engine was blown. I told him I was going to give them the car to junk it as it was not worth fixing. I brought them the bill of sale as soon as I could which was Wednesday since I had been working. I went in to give the bill of sale to them and they charged me $300!!!!! I couldn't believe it. I know they will get something for junking the car or parts from it. I don't care about that. But for real?? 300 for a tow less than 3 miles???? And you get the car for scrap!!! Like I said I have NEVER in my life written a review. I generally laugh at people that go through the trouble to post something online. However I have never experienced such poor customer service nor have I ever been ripped off so badly. Rude, arrogant drivers - Today a flatbed from Mike's Towing was behind me. Apparently I wasn't driving fast enough because the driver was riding my bumper and gesturing angrily at me. Good thing it wasn't my car on his bed, I wouldn't want anyone with anger management issues taking care of my car. We had a terrible situation with a roll over on a tractor with a 4ft brush hog attached as well. Was down in a deep water drain off ditch and was completely upside down. Mike got that tractor and brush hog out of there without one dent. We truly didn't expect that. Plus he towed it out onto the main road and put it on our trailer as well. I'm sure you read negative and positive reviews but we have used Mikes services several times. He was AWESOME every time. Thank you Mike for what you did for us. Stay away!!! I was quoted 150 over the phne just to look at my vehicle but when I got there they charged me a discount of 250. My fuel level was not reading accurate..get it diagnose from auto zone ..the fuel sensor need to replace..This Place charge me 106 dollars..for the diagnostic check them told me I need to replace fuel pump the cost 695 dollars..I get it done at another mechanic for less than half...The guy just replace the sending unit...This Place is a rip off. read more

After my car was towed to Mike's, they informed me that the car was sent to the auto body shop the next day. I found out four days later that Mike's had not, in fact, released the car as they told me they did. This mistake set my repairs back by four days, and has resulted in four additional days of rental expense. read more
