    One of two chairs reupholstered. Love them!!!

    What can I say other than they had two very difficult family heirlooms to reupholster with which that they did an amazing job. The price was exactly as quoted and the fabric was better than what we found at Mood in NYC. They picked up and returned chairs in just two weeks. Very fast. Great work. The Matriarch approved which was most important. I'd trust them with anything from store fixtures to antiques.

We made a significant…read moreinvestment with The Shade Store for shades and drapes in our new apartment, and what should have been a seamless, premium experience turned into weeks of frustration, poor communication, and zero accountability. To start, The Shade Store sent a technician to measure our windows--and notably, our elevator as well. Based on those measurements, we moved forward with a large order. At this point the service had been fine, nothing particularly impressive or helpful, but also nothing that caused us concern. However, what they failed to mention (and later openly admitted) is that they already knew the shades would not fit in our building's elevator. This critical detail was never disclosed to us prior to purchase. When delivery day came and the shades didn't fit, we contacted them, only to learn that they knew the problem in advance and had done nothing about it. From there, the situation devolved into a series of disorganized and ineffective attempts to fix their own oversight:     *    A technician arrived hours late and didn't even know what he had been sent to do.     *    A third-party team was sent but wasn't authorized to remove the shades from their packaging, making it impossible to maneuver them up the stairs.     *    Yet another technician came, only to confirm--again--that getting them upstairs wasn't feasible. After three failed attempts, The Shade Store told us that we should handle getting the shades upstairs ourselves (for their mistake), and they would reimburse us. That process alone delayed things by nearly four weeks--meaning our shades weren't installed before move-in, creating a major disruption for our family and young children. We ended up separately contracting with our building's elevator company at our own expense to solve their incompetence. As if that weren't enough, we also discovered--completely by accident--that some of our drapes were delayed. This was never proactively communicated to us. Throughout this entire ordeal, I personally had to call and chase The Shade Store more than 10 times, with each call lasting close to or over an hour. Every time, I had to re-explain the entire situation from scratch. Each representative promised to take ownership, provided their contact information--and then disappeared. It was a shocking lack of accountability. Now, after everything has finally been delivered and installed, we are still waiting to be reimbursed for the costs we incurred fixing their mistake. They told us several days ago that we would be hearing from them and that it was a priority...still waiting. Setting aside reimbursement they clearly owe use, at no point have they even hinted that they are prepared to take any action to help make this right. This experience was defined by poor planning, lack of transparency, disorganization, and an ongoing failure to follow through. For a company positioning itself as premium, this level of service is completely unacceptable and others should know before trusting them.
