I went early in the morning around 6:19AM hoping for something fresh, but it was a pretty bad experience. When I got my donut, I found a piece of hair in it, which was disgusting. On top of that the donut tasted like it was sitting there and just got reheated. Definitely not fresh. The lady who took my order also had an attitude, which just made the whole visit worse. Thanks to me winning a king cake from Yelp, I finally tried the delicious Thee Heavenly Donut! I must've been living under a rock to have not been here before as they are delish! Locally owned and operated, putting quality and customer service first! When I found out I won a king cake, I checked the menu to see all the delicious flavor options. My favorite king cake is typically Ambrosia's Zulu, so I decided to try Thee Heavenly Donuts' version. I called ahead and asked them to hold one for me (as they open at 4, and I couldn't be there till about 11). I was surprised when I got there that the owner (Kara) decided to decorate a fresh one for me on the spot. She even asked if I wanted Mardi Gras or Valentine's sprinkles, which I was so grateful as I was having family over for Valentine's! I also decided I had to try their donuts and told the owner who immediately put a sampler box together for me. I insisted on paying for them even though she tried to just give them to me - too sweet! They were all delicious too! As she mentioned the blueberry donuts being a customer favorite, sure enough, they were my favorite too. This biz was booming with customers, and now I know why! I told Kara that I passed by the Sherwood location on my way to this one, so I'm glad to know they own both. First town in this place and I felt in heaven! I had the king cake, it comes with the toppings very well packaged, ready for you to decorate at home. The kids enjoyed so much!!! I loved this idea, the amount of toppings was perfect, not too much to make a mess, but enough to do the king cake and get the kids happy licking their fingers when they are done decorating their piece of art. The bread was delicious! Very tasty and fresh. It feel like eating a big donut! I am not a huge fan of eating much king cake because it usually is overly sweet, but this one was very good, sweet but not too much, it was perfect with milk and coffee. The donuts and beignets here are amazing. I learned about this place via a Yelp event and I'm so glad to have found it. I received a "decorate your own" Christmas king cake, which I was super excited about. I arrived at the establishment at 4 am for my pick up (I'm an early bird, what can I say), since I wanted to get in and out. The owner's husband/co-owner wasn't expecting anyone that early, I guess, because he seemed a bit perplexed about the Yelp deal, but got things together after a while. I had to wait for about an hour, but I ordered some additional treats, which helped pass the time (smile). I wasn't upset about the wait. I was just happy that they took the time to provide us Yelpers with such a wonderful experience and opportunity. Everything was delicious. I did run into the owner on my way out, who apologized profusely for the wait. Again, I genuinely appreciate the kindness and generosity that they have extended to the Yelp community. I tried the spicy sausage kolache (I don't remember the proper name) it was delicious and not that spicy. Nice bread! I have been twice and each time I buy a boudin kolache and forget to eat it every time. I just have to buy that and nothing else so I can enjoy it! This is my New Year's resolution lol. Randomly stopped in here to get donut holes for my boys. We walked in at 11:59 and they close at 12:00. The person who helped us was so nice. They only had glazed donuts out. That's when I suddenly got a craving for Maple Pecan donut which was from a review I read from a year ago. I ordered two maple pecan donuts as soon as I was greeted and was highly impressed with the made to order service. I was in and out in no time and that's the same time it took me to eat those donuts. The BEST apple fritters--I had to buy six and take them back to NOLA to freeze for future enjoyment (275 deg in the toaster oven for 15-20 min). It is very hard to find knobby, crunchy apple fritters anymore, and these actually had apple bits in them! The shop is right off the I-10 and very easy on, easy off (on the opposite side from Blue Bayou). My only complaint is why did I not find this place before my son was a senior at LSU????
