Coffee review only! I've been craving a good cold brew coffee, and I checked out Shipleys. I got a large iced Carmel cold brew with light ice, and I'm obsessed! It is perfectly mixed and doesn't have too much of a coffee taste, just the way I like it. The large was a good size because it lasted me my whole morning. It is less than $5 and took them less than 2 minutes for me to go through the drive thru, pay, and get my coffee. A great morning treat! read more

Apparently at this location unless you ask for hot glazed donuts you gonna get cold glazed donuts ---past experiences with donut shops,Shipley or otherwise, when you order glazed donuts you get hot fresh donuts unless they only have old. But this location and visit today served me cold donuts---I had to return to the counter to ask for hot donuts. Ugh. Donuts are smaller these days but that's not unexpected in today's climate and surprisingly an order of 12 donuts, cup of coffee and a milk was over $20. The front cashiers were polite and respectful are a credit to the establishment. The staff was so amazing, I let them know I had never been to Shipley's before and asked a couple questions and they were patient and helpful. They're iced coffee comes from a machine like at the gas station it appeared to be community coffee, they had no sugar free options. I ordered a jalapeño cheese sausage kolache which was delicious. Looking for a great donut? Don't pass up Shipley Do-Nuts! These are no-muss, no-fuss delightfully delicious donuts. Being from the East Coast, I'm a Dunkin' gal, but the closest one to Baton Rouge is quite a ways away. Shipley donuts do not disappoint and (dare I say it) might even be better than Dunkin' (gasp!). Their specialty seemed to be filled bear-claw type donuts, but being a child, I had a chocolate sprinkle donut and had to mindfully tell myself to not eat in one bite. The staff were super friendly and patient with me while I decided on my delectable treat. The location is convenient to get to and there is a drive-thru for those on the go. Usually great. The donuts were hot and tasty. The hot chocolate was like muddy water. Zero flavor. Save your $3.50 on that.

They're always too lazy to ever open the lobby, and good luck trying to get them to tell you what donuts they have over the drive through.

I love Shipley! I'm a Texas native and Shipley is my go to place back home! I love my donut holes, cream filled donuts and jalapeño cheese kolaches (piggy in a blanket). These kolaches always have real jalapeños and cheese baked along side of the sausage instead of a sausage which is made with cheese and jalapeños. Donut holes are soft with just the right amount of sugar. I will definitely be back! read more

Ordered two sausage kolache from here. It was my first time ordering from here. I ordered through Waitr, but my driver came 20 minutes early and the food was still cold. My Sausage Kolaches turned out to just be two hot dogs in bread. I was very dissatisfied with my order today. read more

I've been so excited for this Shipley to open up! I'm a Texas guy and was thrilled they were making their return to Baton Rouge. I went on their opening day and it was PACKED! The drive-thru was curved around the building, the inside was busy as well. I chose to go in, so i could see the inside. They were quick, efficient, and gave some of that southern hospitality. I ordered a dozen glazed Donuts for my team, 2 kolaches for me (boudin and Shipleys spicy) Those delicious hexagon shaped donuts were savory, fluffy, and fresh. The kolaches were... fantastic, delicious, phenomenal! It's a dangerous thing they are so close to where I live and work... I'll be a frequent visitor. read more

I love donuts! I especially love kolaches. This place is exactly what I needed in my life (super close and has a drive through). I'm a big fan of the sausage, cheese, and jalapeno. They're not skimpy on the cheese. The boudin kolache was tasty too. The maple donut was unlike anything I've ever tried! I also enjoyed the blueberry cake donut. The reason for minus one star is because my other cake donut was raw in the middle so it was inedible. Also they were out of a lot of stuff by 11am on Saturday when they stay open til 7pm.... They didn't have enough boudin kolaches (I only ordered 3) and also was out of the oreo donut. read more

All I can say is Yikes. The Shipley in Metairie is amazing. This one not so much. We ordered the sausage and cheese kolaches and got cheese, hotdog, and jalapeño kolaches. The Cappuccino wasn't home made and tasted like plastic. The maple glazed donut had fuzz on it, the others were stale. My wife's coffee tasted like "chemicals" according to her. I had shipleys from a different state before so when I saw baton rouge opened one I was excited. I came by to try them, had a long line ahead of me, thats fine. I finally got to the window and only one of the flavors I wanted was available. The worst part was she didnt tell me this until after I paid. I tried to just get a refund because the flavors that they did have were plain, glazed or awful. She said she couldnt give me a refund. I paid for the filled ones but did not get any filled ones, just glazed/ old fashioned (cheaper priced donuts). I didnt make a big deal out of it but it sucked cause I feel played. That lady has probably been doing it, thus the long, slow line. People had to find out at the window that none of the stuff they ordered were available, then had to sit there and reconsider their orders, just like I did, after they already took their money.
