This food truck is amazing! I happened by it because someone needed to go to Kaiser to pick up something. I was feeling really nauseated that morning and the smell of fish from the truck really helped ease the nausea, so I decided to buy something. I didn't catch the server's name, but he was really friendly and helpful. I noted there was shrimp on the menu, which was a bit concerning given my allergy and already starting with nausea, so the server did his best to minimize cross contamination even though I said it was ok (since it would be impossible since everything is fried in the same oil). Since I was willing to take the chance on the allergy, I didn't expect the server to still be that careful with the food since I did mention the allergy wasn't too severe (and wouldn't matter if he avoided more contamination because of the oil). All in all, super friendly guy who did his best to make sure I enjoyed my food, so it was super appreciated. read more

I must venture in my wagon train far from mission viejo and embark on a large and arduous journey to a land far away known as riverside. Had a fish taco and chicken strips tonight. The fish taco are on 2 corn tortillas with cabbage, pico, and his house sauce. His fish is awesome so the taco was great. 2 of these with a side of fries and a DIPA would be fantastic. The chicken strips are good, it's the same batter as the fish so they're not like the breaded ones you see everywhere else. The chicken's juicy and the batter's properly seasoned. This is my first time trying food from a food truck and I wasn't disappointed! I came here after work with my coworkers after seeing the food truck parked by Target. I'm glad they were parked by Target because I feel safer stopping at this area versus the gas station area I would usually see them at. We each got a plate and I had got the shrimp only platter because I'm not usually a big fan of fish. For the shrimp only plate it came with 10 fried shrimps, the seasoned crinkle cut fries, house made sauce, and a lemon for $23. Wow the batter and seasoning on the fried shrimp was delicious! I could taste Cajun seasoning in it. It had the right amount of spice and they were crispy. The shrimp is a pretty good size as well! I also enjoyed the house made sauce they have. The sauce had a nice tart and creaminess to it that made it compliment the shrimp and fries so much. The fries had some seasoning on them and were a thick crinkle cut. They were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Even though I don't like fish, seeing the way my coworkers were enjoying their fried fish made me want some, so I may try it the next time I see the food truck! read more

Fast service, super friendly. This is my second time coming. The first time I ate it so fast couldn't take a picture. I ordered tilapia and shrimp. Super flaky, seasoned well. The fries were like any regular fries. He has a special sauce that is kind of spicy but taste good. I'm very picky eater and especially about my fry'd fish, This place is so good it's cooked to order I had the cod fish and shrimp dish little heat but the batter is crunch, flavorful, fish was tender moist and let's say I ate everything so fast that I forgot to take some pics of my plate. Mikey knows his fish. Lots of choices of wild fish. He urged the sole and I know to go with the chef's suggestion. I was a bit worried because it's pretty easy to overwhelm sole with batter. Nope! That's some darn good Southern fish fry there! But it's not a house. More like a tiny house on wheels. Yep. A bright red food truck. The best advice I can give is, come earlier in the day, if at all possible. We didn't; it was an hour and a half before closing. So, there were several of their fishie choices already bought out, much to my dismay. That included the tilapia, fillet of sole, and catfish. Oh, ok. If it's tofu you're after, you might still be in luck! So then, we made matters worse for anybody after us by snatching up the last two cod+shrimp dinners, which, btw, were superb. In fact, I'd dare say, far better than 90% of the restaurants in the area. The batter is light, crunchy, and lightly spicy. The fish was quite fresh. The shrimp was plump and tasty. The fries, delicious. The only thing I felt was missing was a little cup of salad or slaw, because they don't do salad or any greens for that matter. There is no place to sit down, and you probably wouldn't want to anyway because this location is at a busy, dusty intersection in a dumpy, abandoned gas station landscaped with a fine collection of weeds. So save your ambiance expectations for the fish fry places that aren't as good. Regardless, this little food truck was a little gem and exactly the kind of place I would want to return. read more

Iv been following Mike's fry house on ig forever, finally got the opportunity to try them out on my way home from big bear (I arrived beyond hungry). Once I got to the order window I did not know what to order, everything on the menu sounded amazing. I was recommended the swai and shrimp and it was delicious. Fresh, flaky and crunchy the best combination. I recommend ordering an extra of their special sauce! My order did take 20 mins so be prepared to wait and they do give you a call/text when your order is ready. Plenty of time to walk around target or order food at another truck. read more

I now have a new favorite for some good food!!! I need to try more things, but the fried shrimp with the "secret sauce" is an amazing combination! I love the seasoned "Del Taco" fries too! I'm a big fan of putting malt vinegar on my fries, but the type of seasoning and the amount of it, was perfection! THIS IS NOT BEER BATTERED FISH!!! Soooo good! We have been wanting to try Mikey's Fry House for awhile, and boy am I glad we did! We caught them at like 9pm tonight and we got great service and amazing food! We got the salmon, catfish, and lobster with Swai! All the fish was shrimp was delicious, the batter was perfect! And the fries! The perfect crunch and seasoning! Their special/secret sauce SLAPS! Well, hot dang. That is some good fish. My husband got the Swai and fries and I "wasn't hungry." That was a mistake. The batter is similar to how the Brits do it, but flavored like the South. A friend told me about this food truck since she knew I was a foodie and I'm so glad she did! The fried fish here is so delicious. I love the Cajun seasoning Mikey adds to the fish, shrimp, and fries. It has such good flavor and pairs well with his secret dipping sauce. I want the secret dipping sauce recipe lol. So far I've had their Swai, dover sole, cod, lobster, & of course the shrimp. All delicious, but my favorite is the swai and dover sole. All cooked to order so it can 10-15 minutes for your order to be ready. He's usually open Friday through Sunday, but sometimes he's open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays. We are extremely picky about eating fish, especially from a food truck. But let me tell you, we have eaten this fish fry many times, and we've never been disappointed! There are so many options, and everything is always so fresh. I always get the Swai, but my fiancé has tried just about everything on the menu. The portions are great for the price, and the containers are compostable (which is refreshing because you don'tsee that very often in food trucks). The homemade sauce is delicious, and we love the cajun seasoning on the fries. The owner is always nice, and his food truck is always immaculately clean! He serves a pretty large area in and around Riverside, so if you see this bright red, black and yellow food truck around, do yourself a favor and try it! So good! read more

This place is the goods! Got Dover, shrimp and fries. Batter light and crispy not oily. Batter is a sort of a Cajun beer batter and was pleasantly surprised while driving home it didn't get soggy. When I went it wasn't crowded but possibly could be since there are other trucks around. Secret sauce is good as well. You will end up dipping everything you bought in it trust!!! Located on the street just outside of the side of Target. Prices are pretty reasonable as well. Looking forward to the fried lobster which definitely caught my eye.
