Mikie's is in a corner of this little strip mall. The location itself has been through numerous incarnations. The interior was once divided by a cumbersome wall and left an absence of a free flowing feeling. It's now open and the bar itself is inviting to sit at. Plenty of seats. 2 pool tables are to the left and 4-5 dart boards are just past. Mikie's offers plenty of on tap drafts both local and domestic. They always have top shelf liquor and the one beertender who's served me is very friendly. Mikie's offers plenty to eat. Maybe too many choices. I'm sure the menu is over 150 offerings. Steak, ribs, chicken, Mexican, wings, salads, pizza, seafood... Tried the wings again tonight. Sweet BBQ this trip. I asked to fry the wings extra long. That's the trick. Came in on Sat night around 7pm with my family we sat in the corner. It wasn't busy busy but man did it take forever to get a waitress over. I ordered all waters for us and asked for a beer for my dinner. Food did take about 20 min to come out. They burnt the pizza which they had to remake. We ordered the wing app but they came out not crispy at all. Please skip the pizza it seems like it's frozen dough and since our pizza was burnt the second one seemed microwaved. The best thing was the tenderloin and big enough to share. Chips are for the sandwiches so if you want fries a 3 dollar charge will be added. We asked the server since we had hot wings to please bring a pitcher of water she said no problem and forgot all about us. She finally brought the water and forgot all about the beer I asked for. Had to go up again and ask for a check and a togo box. I gave her a 4.00 tip and put on the check you forgot my beer. Next time go to Murphy's just 5 min down the street. read more

This is the first place I went to eat when I moved to the area 2 years ago, and I have returned many times since. Mikie's menu has something for everyone--it's huge and has a wide range of items. Their food is great and you get a large portion for a low/average cost. Drink specials are a must! Taco Tuesdays are usually very busy, but worth it. If you're a sports fan, Mikie's has TVs everywhere playing all the games for your viewing pleasure. The outdoor patio in the back provides a space for smokers, and there are pool tables and arcade games for anyone that likes to play games. My only hesitation for 5 stars is that they are consistently understaffed for how many people come in to eat, drink, and socialize. The wait for food or refills has been known to take a pretty minute. read more

Trust me on Thursday you don't want to get there late. This place is jumping and the wings don't last long. Luckily we ordered the last 20 wings for the night. Went in to get tacos and a couple pitchers. The bartender aka the manager poured out 4 pitchers of foam, then served us 2 that she let settle. After we took a sip the beer was flat and we wanted to purchase a different beer and food. She told us no, we had to drink the flat beer and we had to pay for it. We left as we were berated for just asking for something else. I didn't get to try the food but I've never been told I have to pay for something that any real bartender knows is crap. Anyone behind a bar knows the tap is messed up, why keep pouring foam into the pitcher. Just 8y it. And don't tell the customer you will drink it and you will pay for it in a very angry manner. read more

They charge for water. Enough said. But they also charge an extra $1.25 for lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion and mayo on burgers & sandwiches even though the menu lists these as "served with" in the description. This is my favorite local bar. The drinks are extremely cheap. Mostly service industry people come here. The food isn't bad and is very cheap. The staff is really friendly. Tuesday is .25 tacos and Thursday is .25 wings bone in or boneless. They have an outdoor patio that is heated where guests can smoke. The have drinks specials everyday. I can get a pitcher of beer for under $8. This place is awesome, especially if you are on a budget. read more

What I like about this place, the beer is ice cold, the food is good and it easy on my wallet! I had dinner here on a recent Thursday. It was .25 cent wing night AND there was a football game on. It was packed! So busy they ran out of wings in fact. I ordered the $10 ribeye dinner special. The steak was cook the way I ordered it but lacked seasoning- nothing a little salt couldn't fix. The green beans were cooked with bacon and the twice baked potato was made in house and loaded with cheese. The Texas toast was pretty addicting too! Also I've had their fries and they are some of the best in town. They are real potatoes and cooked in duck fat. Yup you heard, me duck fat! I like that this is a no frills working class bar with ice cold beverages and good food all for a great value! I'm planning on becoming a semi-regular. I would highly recommend going somewhere else (ANYWHERE ELSE) but if you decide to patronize this establishment, I suggest the following: 1) Keep track of EVERYTHING you order. 2) Only allow one server to wait on you. 3) ALWAYS PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD. 4) Keep your itemized bill. The wait staff is unorganized and they are crooks. I've been ripped off for the second and last time. The owners do not care about the customers and are clearly blind to what the staff is doing. The best chicken fried steak outside of Texas. I'll get to that in a second though. Also, the specials are definitely worth talking about. Staff was good, beer selection is really good, and the food is great. So why only three stars? As other people mentioned, the crowd there was pretty lame. I was there around 8-9 on a Wednesday and it was a bunch of older folks who never really made it in life. Back to the food. They get a big slab of new York strip steak (like 8lbs I think) and hand cut it down for their needs. The country fried steak is cut from this superb cut, and is then pounded out and hand breaded. The end result is a, dare I say delicate(?), steak inside of a light and crispy breading. Phenomenal. The rest of the plate is VERY lacking though. The gravy and mashed potatoes are tasteless and I honestly couldn't tell where one started and the other ended. The green beans are preportioned and refrigerated, I think microwaved to order. That being said, that incredible slice of steak and it's accoutrement were only $9 because they were on special. Hell , they had at least 7 different food and drink specials every day, which is nuts. French onion soup was unimpressive but edible. Side salad was bagged preshredded lettuce with some onion and a tomato. At the hour mark, I inquired to hour much longer for our food after our waitress had promissed shortly. I was told 10 more minutes. Food hadn't even been started. Unacceptable. Friendly atmosphere during the week, awesome food and great drinks! A lot of dumb younger boys come in and play their rap music on weekends so that kind of sucks. Ruins the whole friendly vibe of the bar when you have some dumb boys come in there and puff up their chests at everyone to try and impress their friends.
