We were late for the pastries but I did get to try a plain croissant with the horchata/espresso drink. First and foremost, the owner is humble, has a great personality and he appears to take some serious pride in his coffee and knows how to meet his customer's needs. Had the horchata iced coffee, was super excited to try, sadly, was not what I expected. I expected more of a natural sweet horchata milk rice taste to it, it taste more on the gritty side, like when drinking the bottom part of a horchata beverage. Holy crap! Strong, delicious, and fantastically smooth cold brew coffee from here this morning had me going all day long. The owner was super friendly and really took the time to describe some options to me to match what I was looking for. I had a splash of almond milk in my coffee and it was delicious. I don't think all 5 feet of me needed the larger size, since it gave me the shakes for hours, BUT it was so yummy. I'll definitely be back for a smaller cold brew ;). Highly recommend! It's love from a first sip of coffee. It really is! When I was working at Fort Sam Houston and drive down broadway to get to one of the gates, I would always see a relatively big crowd of people around Mila's. Always wanted to try it, but didn't get to experience it until more recently. I love their pick of coffee beans, pastries (they got mostly vegan pastries and they are GOOD!) and even coffee sweetener everything was amazing to me. Pastries were nice and fresh, the variety was also very decent considering how tiny their venue is. Coffee was smooth and aromatic, I had my cortado and it was delicious. It's a walking distance from Pearl, so husband and I took a little exploration walk. I told him that it was something special I wanted him to try. We both loved it! Service was also very friendly and warm. These guys know what they're doing. Now we all just sit and wait until Mila Coffee opens bigger hardstanding location, so more and more people can start enjoying this goodness. I will be coming back for that almond croissant and my cortado for sure. Service was great. The staff was very nice and social with the other customers. The head barista took the time to explain some of the drink orders to the couple in front of me. They ordered the Horchata Iced Coffee and the Mexican Vanilla Latte. Their Horchata Iced Coffee didn't look like it was mixed very well. I ordered the Mexican Vanilla Latte. The expresso was weak. I couldn't taste their Mexican Vanilla at all. There was no option for milk other than whole milk. It tasted mostly like steam milk, which is great for those who don't like the coffee flavor. All cups for hot drinks are small. It was barely mediocre at best. I also ordered a cinnamon roll. It was a good size (a little bigger than my fist). It was very rubbery in texture but good flavor overall. It has the perfect amount of cinnamon. The icing was crummy. I am not satisfied with the price I paid($10). I understand it the products are local but the quality was not present to pay the amount that was charged. read more

I decided to look up some new coffee spots near a place I go to occasionally for work. (I like to know the best coffee places where ever I am). The reviews couldn't be more positive so I decided to check it out this am. I was there early so the line was not long yet. The barista talked to everyone in line, and was just a genuine, nice guy. I'm boring so I get drip coffee, it was very delicious. It's a bright blend of coffee but not to acidic, which is the problem I seem to have at some of the newer coffee locations. I like the smoother roasts. I find this roast is easy to drink. It was brewed really nicely, full of flavor, but not overly strong. I'm pretty excited to have a new spot! read more
