This is my first treatment. I've tried EVERYTHING from threading, tweezing, shaving, electrolysis (at longer than average intervals and higher than average voltage and still never being able to leave the small sections without my apocalyptic-resistant facial hair mocking me by seemingly gathering strength! Waxing is a joke as are hair removal creams OF ANY KIND. My dermatologist suggested my trying laser. After a review search, I chose Milan. During the consultation, tbh I had no real confidence that this would work either. My resignation to scarred skin from the many methods I tried that promised success, but delivered only frustration was foremost in my thoughts. I figured the rep would merely tell me everything I wanted to hear to get my signature of commitment. To my great surprise the rep was able to personally understand my issues! Authenticity cannot be faked! She truly understood my pain. Well, having just completed my first treatment, I can attest the environment though fully prepared to do battle against the power of these evil whiskers, conversely the space and mood is very relaxed. My assigned specialist made me comfortable and answered my questions without hesitation further instilling confidence. Expectations are set! Let me save you some time. I wanted to get a new area lasered after having some other areas lasered by other establishments 15 years ago. I responded really fast and well in those prior sessions with minimal regrowth. Soon after making an appointment at Milan, I cancelled it after reading online how expensive their packages were. I was texted by a member of their staff/sales team about the reason for my cancellation, and I explained that it did not seem like it could possibly be a good value for me. She offered me a free laser treatment to come in and talk to them anyway. Against my better judgment, I went in. I had to sit through a canned sales pitch that contains all the standard emotional trigger points (validation of current frustrations, promise of freedom, why their lasers won't hurt so much, etc.) and is tedious for people who already know about laser hair removal. I repeated that I really had only a small area to do and that I expected to respond very fast and be done, as before. I wouldn't even need the lifetime promise. She nonetheless quoted me a price that I estimate is ~8x higher than that of a very good med spa downtown. The "free treatment" she offered was for an area (below my navel) where I have effectively zero hair (she seemed skeptical, I even showed her). The tone changed incredibly abruptly when I said I was not going to sign today. She then texted me another offer the next day, dropping the price a bit. It was still way, way higher than other places with excellent reputations and lasers that work just as well. I've since gone to a competitor and been happy with the results. No aggressive sales tactics with them either. TLDR: I was up front about my concerns and they completely wasted my time not addressing them. I imagine their tactics work really well on conflict-avoidant people, especially those who have never had laser hair removal performed before. This place makes sense IMO only if you know you've got extensive areas to cover that will regrow. Even then, I would comparison shop. read more

I loved my time coming to Milan Hyde Park! Timetra is a very patient and thorough laser operator and is very careful to make sure that her clients have no adverse effects. This place is great even for people with heavily pigmented skin, which has historically been a concern. They also have top of the line technology to make the process and least painful as possible. And the facilities are spotless. The prices will scare you. They scared me because I am frugal queen, but they run many promos to decrease the cost and the lifetime access is unbeatable.
