I almost never leave reviews but my most recent experience at Milano was terrible. I have been here one or two times and had good experiences, but I recently visited in the middle of the week when there were almost no other customers but several employees. Despite the fact that there was no rush, my nail tech stood right behind me the moment I went to go pick a color and was very impatient. Then I was lead to a station that had obviously not been cleaned. There was a smell like someone had been eating nearby. He manipulated my hands very harshly and I had to say several times that he was hurting me, twisting my fingers to apply polish way harder than any nail tech has done before. I got a gel "Catseye" manicure where the polish has tiny magnetic particles that are moved into place with a magnet. He had never applied this type of polish and instead of switching in another employee who knew how to (several employees were milling about as there was only one other person in the salon) another employee demonstrated how to apply the polish on one nail and then walked away! He had no idea what he was doing, so he ended up just handing me the magnet and having me do it instead of trying to learn! I'm not a nail tech, I was just imitating what I've seen other nail techs do before (if you've had this type of gel polish before, you know the magnet is moved in a specific way to produce an iridescent effect) so it obviously didn't turn out right. The tech didn't even apply the polish uniformly and it was half transparent and completely bumpy on my nail. Again, I'm not usually the type to complain, but all these little things added up to me feeling very disrespected. If you have a nail spot you already like stick to it, because I feel stupid knowing I paid people for such terrible service, especially since they made me basically do my own manicure and my nails look terrible. I have only had regular pedicures here, but I have had a decent experience. Girlfriends and I will go nextdoor to Cambridge and pick up a bottle of rose and bring it over to get our nails done and relax. They always are good at reservations - we've had some small waits but nothing unexpected. Most of the times, I've been they;ll have one person start on someone but the others just sit there and wait (sometimes not even soaking in water yet). Ideally, when you book a group reservation, it would be nice to get everyone started and finished roughly at the same time. Sometimes my color will stay and last for 2-3 weeks (wow!) and once in a while it chips very quickly. that may just be the product of my environment (a little too active on my feet, in water more often, etc) so I can't correlate it to poor application here. Overall, it is an easy process, a great location, and a pleasant experience. read more

I regret to write this review but my nails have been destroyed by technicians that used the nail filing machine too aggressively. The salon is clean, large and easy to make appointments. BUT they lack of expertise in the small army of technicians they have employed is something that I needed to warn folks about. Sometimes you can get a good fast manicure here, but not many extras or details. They are often rushed and some of the techs, although nice, don't have enough experience. The last time I asked to have an acrylic nail replaced, as it was starting to lift. I asked about soaking it off, but the tech grabbed nail pliers, cut off a corner and ripped it off. It hurt, and split my own nail vertically half way down. As I yelled in pain, she then put Crazy Glue on it to close the open split. I haven't been back since. read more

Went in for a gel manicure. I was rushed and the owner burped when walking by my station. The gel didn't dry between sets and they all fell apart. The next day I went in for a fix and was rushed again. They didn't say sorry once and didn't even put lotion on my hands. The lady stripped my nails, painted them and then told me to wash my hands and was sent on my way. They chipped after three days. I won't ever go back. read more

I called in advance asking the price and they explained it was $33. When I sat in the chair, the woman kept pointing to their $50 spa treatment. I kept repeating just the regular pedicure for $33 and they kept shaking their head no that it had to be the $50 one. I then proceeded to have one of the worst pedicures I have ever received following. The tech didn't even clip my nails properly, and on top of that sped through everything step, I still had lotion on my legs from not being rubbed in properly. Booking appointments weeks in advance won't guarantee you service I've been coming here since it opened and had no complaints at first. Unfortunately I've had a negative experience here my last 3 visits. That's why I waited to write this review, I really wanted to keep giving it a chance and hoped the first 2 bad experiences I had were just bad days. Unfortunately, they weren't. I often make appointments to go with one or two friends. I make my appointments WEEKS in advance. Keep in mind these are different times of day, different days of the week, and never during a peak "busy" period. Any time I've gone with more than one person, they'll seat us all at the same time, and then only send one nail tech over. The one nail tech will start on one person, and the other two have to wait up to 10 minutes to have their service started. It's not just a minute or two, it's long enough that my friend will be almost ready to have her polish applied while I haven't even been started on yet. If you're getting pedicures with someone as a social thing or as a gift, this can COMPLETELY ruin the experience because everyone's services end at completely different times. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt AGAIN at my most recent appointment with my friend, but once I saw two other clients receive service before me (people that came at least 10 mins after) it was my last straw. I had to walk up to the front desk and ask if they could still accommodate me for them to even send someone over to start my pedicure. Side note - there were 2 other customers in the same position at my recent appointment- they had been seated together and only one nail tech came over. The other customer ALSO had to go up and complain after 5+ minutes of waiting. The pricing here is decent and the quality of the service is equivalent to what you pay for, but due to their inability to schedule services properly I will not be coming back here. It's sad because I really wanted to like it. I'm adding a star back because they did give me 10% off my service at the end, but it was only because I spoke up to the front desk. The other two times I had the same issue and didn't complain no one cared to make things right for me or even apologize for the wait. Unfortunately it's not enough to keep me coming back since I can't trust I'll actually be accommodated the next time I make an appointment. If the business sees this - when people book a service together, it's because they want to receive it TOGETHER. Please ensure you can accommodate ALL of your clients. Especially the ones who scheduled in advance, ensure you have enough staff on hand. If you don't have enough staff on hand for reserved appointments, consider not taking walk ins until more availability opens up. read more

The salon is very clean and the girl who did my nails was nice hence the 2 stars. My $63 pedicure is already chipping and it wasn't even 48 hours since I had it done. I am new to this Lounge but each time I go, am very pleased with the results. I LOVE CHRIS she listens and does what I ask. First time I went I asked her to paint shamrocks on my nails and the following time she did a great job for Easter. She is always ready for me when I come. This salon is wonderful. I've been coming here since August 2024. I get a gel fill for my set on my nails every month with Alina. She does really good elaborate nail designs and is efficient and nails last 3-4 weeks. Could probably go longer but I don't like when they get too grown out. Salon itself is super clean and equipment is brand new. I almost always get an appointment same day for my fill and I can walk-in for pedicures. So glad I found a good nail salon after struggling with last two places that the nails would always lift and was hard to schedule appointments. read more

I gave it a try but should have known as soon as I walked in....I went ahead with a manicure and the manicurist cut me twice while cutting my cuticles. There is so many nicer places than this. I thought this was going to be my new go to nail salon after I had a good initial first visit a few months ago, however I've had issues every single time I went back. I ALWAYS make appointments, and every single time I made an appointment with a specific nail tech I really liked from the first visit, they gave me to someone else. This wasn't one or two times. It happened the past four to five times I made an appointment. And the nail techs they gave me to instead were not as good as the one I made the appointment with. My last straw was this past weekend when I made an appointment to get my nails done before a professional photoshoot. I'm not joking when I say the nail tech they gave me to instead of the one I made an appointment with seemed like she had JUST started working there. My nails look horrible. She didn't even ask how much I wanted cut or trimmed, what shape I wanted, or what color. She literally just started shaping my nails. I had been growing out my nails 5 weeks for this photoshoot and wanted almond nails. I walked away with short, square chunky gel nails that looked AWFUL. Even my husband noticed how bad they were and was trying to help me find a new salon to get them redone before my photoshoot. If they actually put you with the person you made the appointment with, then this would have never happened. If the business happens to read this, if your clients make an appointment with a specific nail tech and you confirmed it, then that nail tech is reserved for that client. What is the point of having an appointment system then. That is not good business practice. You lost a client and I hope that other people read this before having the same thing happen to them. read more

Today i showed up and the nail tech switched hours without notifying me. She wasn't even there. I don't think that is a respectful way to treat your customers. This place is the worst nail salon. I had a pedicure and a manicure. I broke out in a rash on my ankles from their product they used. Also the manicurist cut me when she was trimming my cuticles. When she was done she put her cuticle cutters back in her draw. She didn't clean them at all. Never going back to this place!!! read more
