While this short poem pretty much sums up my 30-second visit at Oriental Boutique, it is also an acrostic that describes the lady's attitude and the service. I was looking for a traditional Chinese dress (i.e. Qi Pao) for my girlfriend, whom I am going to marry. However, most of the designs cater to kids or tourists (that might explain why most positive reviews were written by non-Asian customers... just saying!) and very few of them are for adults. As someone who grew up in an ethnically Chinese background, I had seen and worn more culturally authentic and better designed traditional gowns and dresses. Many designs displayed in the store seem "oriental" in a western sense or as in what westerners think "oriental" should look like, but this is just my subjective observation and honest opinion. The lady was on the phone all the time, and when I asked her question, she literally answered, "no photo, goodbye." Okay. BYE. NEVER AGAIN! Wish I could have given a zero or a negative number.

@mildblendsupplyco does great chain stitching hems a couple of the guys there from the staff super polite , but unfortunately can't say the same about Luke's daughter , she runs the place and is drunk off her power and likes to will her authority on people. Was very confrontational about using their hand sanitizer when I pointed out I'm not touching something that everyone is putting their hands on and that I had my own. She wasn't having it , started with the whole neck popping and snapping fingers nastiness, but all did not end sour, a very kind staff member used diplomacy and eased the tension by taking care of me against her wishes , she said " we're not doing the fk'n hem how about that ! I received my pants back , great job as usual by their staff. Moral of the story if you see the blonde dyed lurking be careful she will prance , and lacks common sense, logic and fact and indulges in feelings , opinions and her view of the world. I will continue to do business despiste the dictatorship because I'm not one of these nasty people that calls for the shutting down of ones small business for not getting my way. I have stopped in a couple of times and purchased a couple of dresses before and my experience each time was fantastic! But I decided to buy a pair of raw denim for my boyfriend for Christmas. So, with a mission, a couple of weeks ago, I decided to see if the staff here could help me out. All I had was his size but they asked me about his style and preference in fit and suggested a pair of Naked & Famous/Weird Guy Fit in Left Hand Twill. I took their advice. They proceeded to tell me that they offer complimentary hemming and to have my boyfriend bring it back to have it hemmed if necessary. So, we did yesterday. As soon as I walked in, they remembered my name, and asked my boyfriend, how the fit was on the denim. Of course, he raved about it and we got it hemmed up while we waited. Talk about service!!! Of course, I couldn't walk out without buying a Canada Goose coat, I've had my eyes on.... This place by far, is the best shopping experience I have ever had. My boyfriend is hooked, too! So many great things to say about Mildblend, but I first want to start with the sales staff (and give my special thanks/appreciation to Luke, Adam and Tulip). All of Mildblend's staff are friendly, patient, knowledgeable and willing to do any and all to ensure that you leave there store as a satisfied customer. Don't misunderstand they are NOT constantly in your face or pressuring you to make a purchase. They simply provide appropriate attention, are there to help, offer honest opinions and suggestions to help you find exactly what you are shopping for. And it's easy to find more than you expected within the store! They have a great supply of denim, (which they will hem, tailor as needed, within the store) and they also offer a great variety of both men's and women's clothing, accessories and shoes that can meet all customer tastes and price points. Mildblend is my first choice of clothing/accessory stores in the Wicker Park/Bucktown area. read more

I finally had a chance to visit Mildblend for the first time this weekend after a year of following them on Instagram...what an awesome store this is! Chatted for a while with Luke (the owner) and a very helpful sales associate named Matthew who fit me in a pair of Momotaro collabs - everyone who works here is attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable. The selection needs no introduction as it is absolutely top-notch and extensive (Momotaro, Railcar, Shockoe, Sugarcane, Eternal, Burgus Plus, etc.). I'd consider it among the top three denim stores in the States, the others being Blue in Green and Blue Owl (sorry Self Edge). Mildblend is my favorite, though, because the variety of brands, footwear and apparel selection, and overall vibe separate it from the pack. If you're into fashionable men's and women's clothing this is a must-visit. read more

Why is my review filtered? I stopped by this shop with my buddy today because I was in the area and what a surprise. They have the biggest and the best raw denim collection I have ever seen. I picked up pair of Unbranded 21 OZ denim and got it hemmed up for free while I waited. I highly recommend this shop. Owner of the shop personally did the hemming. read more

While I am not someone who completely avoids clothing made overseas, I feel good about wearing something that contributes to the local economy and is made by someone working in safe conditions for a good wage. + The jeans are a good cross between rugged and comfortable (especially after a little wear-in). While I would not wear these to a construction site or run in them, they work well for an office worker with a cat. What I mean is, they are soft enough that I don't feel abrasion or scratchiness from all-day wear. At the same time, when my cat greets me at the door with claws extended, I am not as worried about holes or damage as with other, more expensive brands. + The length is cut to your size and preference and then sewn in-store while you wait. While I am not a man with an unusual or rare size, I love that I can have something customized to me. It's a rare and treasured touch these days. + The service in their location was fantastic. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and worked with me to find something I would be happy with in terms of color, length, and fit. + Especially considering the quality of the product and that it's made locally, I feel as though the asking price of $79 is more than reasonable. The caveat: - The fit could have been better. When I bought Levi's at Target or Amazon, I would go for the "Athletic Fit," which is a little narrower than a standard cut but not skinny. I thought Dearborn's "Tailored Fit" would be perfect, but it didn't feel quite right or comfortable. I had to go for their "Relaxed Fit," which was comfortable but didn't quite hit the nail on the head in terms of overall fit. However, I am not an unreasonable fellow and I realize that if I wanted something that would fit perfectly, I would need to pay a lot more money and go bespoke. Having fits for every body shape is otherwise impossible. I do want to mention that Mugsy, despite being of only one style, seems to be more in line with the fit I seek. However, they don't have some of the other benefits mentioned above. Final Verdict: As I start to move on from Amazon and Target (for they shrink way too much), Dearborn Denim will enter my rolodex for places where I occasionally buy clothing. However, I cannot say it will be the only place where I buy my jeans.
