Wow. What a great surprise. So much so that I had to come back and post a review after a week. First - it is NOT a hotel restaurant - it is separately owned. We stopped in for lunch. Hubs was skeptical but went along with me and the kids. We had fried calamari, beef tenderloin bites (wow), seafood pasta (yum!), and teriyaki glazed salmon. Great service. Great food. I will start out by saying that this was New Year's Eve, so you can take that into account if you wish. The restaurant was pretty full so we went to the bar because we could get in. The ambiance is very nice and we were excited to try the food. The bartender was not friendly at all and scowled the whole time (we know because she did not have a mask on so we could see her face). We had to ask for literally everything because she really could not be bothered... Can we have a drink? Can we get menus? Can we get the bread that comes with our meals? Can we get salt and pepper? Can we get refills? Can we get our check? You get the idea! On to the food - my husband looked up the menu online and knew what he was ordering before we got there. He got the beef tips, which were $14 online, and then when we got there the "special" NYE pricing was $26. There was NO difference whatsoever other than the price. It was supposed to be a higher-end take on beef stroganoff that arrived on a long skinny appetizer plate. There were 4-5 pieces of pasta, a few beef tips, and very greasy gravy that lacked flavor. The food runner that dropped off our food at least smiled, which is more than we ever got from the bartender. My food was fine, but nothing really special. Overall, we were really disappointed because we love all of their other restaurants. If this was the first in their restaurant group that we had tried, we definitely would not be excited to try the others. We will continue to go to the other places and may give this one another try in a few months when they get better settled in and it is not a holiday weekend. read more

So we showed up the night before but there was a wedding party so we made a reservation for the next day. We are from Florida and are familiar with seafood. With that being said, I ordered the "fish plate." When I asked what the fish was I was told it was "grouper." I catch grouper annually off the gulf coast of Florida so let me reiterate I can tell the difference. This was NOT grouper. My prediction is farm raised tilapia. The rice might as well have been riceroni off the shelf. The bartender was our waitress even though we weren't seated at a high top or much less the bar. Easy spot to grab some dinner/drinks if staying @ the wharf. It is connected to the Marriot and we always eat a meal here on Wharf weekends, if only for convenience. The seafood pasta dish is great and so are the salads. read more

DELISH!! Me and my husband dined here for lunch before we left and impressed was an understatement. The bread and strawberry butter(I know sounds weird but just try it) was to die for and I had the steak tip pasta (take out the blue cheese) and it was soooo yum!! Service was great too! Local, not impressed. We had a party of 13 and it took a very long time to order all our items with nothing arriving at the same time. Drinks trickled in two or one at a time, and these were only wine, beers, and sweet teas - took over 30 minutes for everyone just to have a drink. Waited for over an hour just to order, then waited another hour on our food which also trickled in one or two at a time. By the time everyone was served the first recipients had cold items. Three hour dinner service for subpar food - would not recommend. Atmosphere is nice, but there are lots of locations in OBA with better food and service. read more

Quick and friendly service. Prices are reasonably. Crab stuffed Portobello mushrooms were excellent. Bacon, molasses Oysters were delicious. Black and blue and Caesar salads were bright and fresh. Turtle cheesecake was the perfect finish. We sat outdoor on a very comfortable August night. read more

Just had an amazing meal at 158 Dockside. A range of appetizers and raw oysters started us off right! Seafood entrees were top notch. Fresh catch was excellent. Christina treated our table with charm and excellent service and attention. She made great suggestions and took care of our dietary needs. The salmon salad with blackened salmon was excellent. Romaine lettuce, feta cheese. This was delicious! Good flavor! The bread they bring to table with a cherry butter? Never had anything like that butter before. It was good. Bread was really good. Waitress and hostess and food deliver were all friendly and attentive. The salmon special was ok. Super yummy food in a hidden restaurant in Gulf Shores. We went to this restaurant because they had reservations on open table/yelp. But the food was so good! The seafood pasta was amazing and the portions were HUGE. My dad had the fish of the day with Gouda mashed potatoes. He loved it. This restaurant has amazing views right in the Inter coastal water way. So pretty! It's hard to see from the road though. Definitely better than any place in The Wharf. read more

Fairly good dinner experience. Waitstaff we're very attentive and timely. Dinner was for four, two shared a Calamari appetizer and club sandwich. The Calamari was not hot, not cold but definitely not hot. Club sandwich was huge and perfectly served. The other two had the Catch of the Day, Flounder and Black and Blue Steak salad. The local flounder was disappointingly small for a 30.00 serving. The salad was yummy according to wife. read more

We had a reservation at 7. Had to wait over 10 minutes to even be greeted. Every table was either dirty or seated. We had to wait for them to bus a table to be seated. Service was slow. Drinks were only refilled once. We stayed empty. I had the burger. It tasted like a frozen patty from Sam's club. Not good at all. They should have spent more money on their food instead of their wine selection. read more
