We had a great time! The atmosphere was gorgeous, with live music and some of the most reasonable prices we've found in the area. Both the kids and adults left happy, which is always a bonus. We enjoyed the charbroiled oysters, mozzarella sticks, blackened shrimp tacos, cheesesteaks, fried shrimp, and key lime pie--everything was delicious. Our server, Hailey, was fantastic. So happy we went to Flora Bama and ate at the Ole River Grill. The location is unmatched and the views are gorgeous. We were seated with an awesome water view. Our server grabbed our drink order and app order right away. We did mozz sticks, wings, oysters, mac and cheese, and some kids meals. Everyone was happy with their food and drinks. The vibes were so upbeat and fun. This was great for a family with kids. After we ate, we walked across the street to get some photos, hear some live music, and shop the store. Everything we ate was excellent! I ordered the key lime shrimp on the appetizer menu and had the key lime pina colada as my first drink. Though not a big fan of frozen drinks it was for sure a great choice. My daughter-in-law got the famous Bushwacker with a floater. Price for 5 of us to eat lunch and for a few drinks was right at $100. Not too bad at all considering we are on the beach. Our waiter was great, but didn't come by very often. Our drinks often went dry for a while. With that said, he was the only one we saw working outside, my hubby says I am not allowed to be negative. Husband had the fried shrimp basket and other then only having 2 hush puppies one in which he gave to our son to try, it was amazing. Son and fiancé had the grilled chicken sandwich. Saturday evening and only a 20 minute wait. Slow start to service (took several minutes for anyone to come over) but after that good, friendly service. Food was pretty good. Came in on a Thursday evening right at 9:00, they close at 10. No frozen drinks available as the frozen machines were broken down already. The employees had already put chairs on top of the tables in the closed sections and we were given plastic eating utensils. Felt like the employees didn't want us there. Food was decent. Nothing spectacular though. We ate quickly and were out before 10. We used to go here every summer with family and had fond memories of this place. Won't be back after this. read more

We came here last week on our vacation to Gulf Shores for the very first time. This place is outstanding, as all the food was absolutely delicious. Hailey was our server and did a very good job. The smoked tuna dip is amazing, as well as the shrimp and Mexican street corn dip. I would love to have the recipe for that. Overall, this was our best food of the trip as there really wasn't anything that wasn't very good. The drinks were also very good. We bought several souvenirs from here lol. read more

Absolute worst service I've had in my life. First, we drove 47 mins to specifically eat at the OG Flora Bama Lounge. Showed up at 6:30 with our kids only to find out that they don't allow anyone in under 18 after 6:00. Would be nice to have that info on the website. So already disappointed. Then decided to go to Flora Bama Ole River Grill. Had 13 people. Asked for a table and they said they can't seat 13 at one table and we'd have to sit at separate tables. Annoying but okay, so we put in for a table for 9 and a table for 4. They tell us it's a 30 minute wait. Cool, that's completely understandable. So I go tell the group and one of the members said they'd just have their 2 year old sit into their lap while we eat so that we could sit at the same table, we go make a new reservation and they say they can seat 12 + a high chair, but not 13. We were absolutely confused, but fine, they said it'll be 30 minutes. After 50 minutes of waiting, our table is finally ready, only to find out we got seated at 2 separate high top tables outside that a high chair won't even reach. Had one very kind lady that worked there, offer to get us a chair with armrests and a booster. Only good thing that happened all night. The waiter took our drink and app order. Then he brought us our drinks and took our dinner order, then someone else brought our apps. That was the last time we saw our waiter for 40 mins before I FINALLY got up to find someone to ask him for help. All of our tables' drinks were empty, had been empty for a while, and the alcoholic beverage that was ordered 40 mins ago had STILL not been brought out. After saying something to an employee there about needing a waiter, he came out with drinks and said "I hear yall are out here complaining about me" in a very passive aggressive way which made me quite unhappy. We finally get our refills and our food. My wife orders an alcoholic beverage while he's there. 30 minutes later we are still without her drink and we have all been done eating for a while now. He came back around and asked if we needed anything and I asked him about the drink, and he said he'd find out. I told him if it wasn't ready yet to just remove it and bring me my check. On top of all of that, one of the members of our group didn't even get the food they ordered but we waited so long, we all just shared our food with her. The food was all pretty good though, I will give the cooks credit. The waiter ( I believe his name was Tyler) was a joke. read more

Always our go to when we have guests visiting. Usually pretty busy during peak times, but have never had to wait. We enjoy sitting out in the sand on the picnic benches where we can watch the boats come and go and usually they have a singer playing on the outdoor stage. It has been YEARS since I've been to Flora-Bama. It is very different than what it used to be. We went to the restaurant side, there were 9 of us. We were able to sit at the bar and eat our meal and order drinks. The bartender was amazing. The views of the water were outstanding! The drinks were good (although small), food was great, and service impeccable. After our meal we got our 2 families together for amazing pictures and one of the waitresses gladly jumped up on a chair and took our pictures. The shrimp and grits were AMAZING!!! Our nephew took us (there was 12 total) here on 7/14. He had been there prior. Our server Pat took very good care of all 12. I only took photos of my husband and my plates. My husband had the Grouper Platter with fries and hush puppies. I had a dozen of oysters and a salad. Food was delicious and I had all the oysters to myself (no one in our party cared for a one). You can tell by the name where this restaurant sits. Water side view of the local terrain has boats passing by and pulling out as we waited on our food. The water was relaxing. The waiter was very attentive and took great care of us. We noticed that it was customary to write on the walls saying that you had visited the establishment. Pretty cool. I ordered the crab legs and there was plenty and enough to take back with me. The place had a rustic look to it. The food was good and the prices were even better. Crab claws were $28. Hit this well known plethora of restaurants in Perdido area between the states. We strolled the beach side Oyster bar which has a bar crawl vibe. We relocated to the Ole River Grille on the back bay side. Very chill and watched the dolphins play as we relaxed. Carlos was quick and very observant to our needs. Saturday evening about 7 pm, with Alabama on tv, so a 45 minute wait can be expected. No problem, that's time to have a drink or two at the bar. Was seated within the 50 minute range, good so far. The server came by took our drink order and order for a dozen chargrilled oysters. When he brought our drinks he asked for our entrée order, which was fine, but I stipulated to not serve our entrée before we had our oysters. Oysters came out, no silverware, I motioned to him twice, we needed silverware. We were only half finished with our oysters when our meals came to the table. Chargrilled oysters was ok, not bad but not Dragos. The shrimp and grits was good and the mac and cheese with shrimp was good too. It is what it is, this isn't fine dining. However, for a $86.00 tab the meal could have been better. It's a touristy place, so stick with bar type food. read more

Started off with the Key Lime Colada drinks, which were delicious and refreshing after being in the hot sun all day. Our waiter, Devin, had a rough table, but did an excellent job. We came, we ate, and the food sucked. It was just not me; several people in our large group were not happy with the taste of it. At first, we stopped across the street at their music venue and found out that they had a extremely limited selection there and they recommended we come over to the old river Grill. We checked in with the host and he took us to our seat. We sat there for at least 15 minutes with a waitress, checking on tables to both sides of us. My wife finally said hello to her and she stopped and asked if we had been helped yet, and we replied no. She noted she would get our server. I'm guessing that led off to a less than good experience overall. Our adult beverages were good, I thought my bloody Mary was pretty good! The food is mediocre with a high price, all mixed drinks are served in small plastic cups, with 12-18 dollar price tags. We opted for some game day specials, so 12 wings and fries. Did half garlic Parmesan and the other half medium. I had been craving fries and these don't disappoint, they just switched over to these fries and the seasoning on them were very good! It was a rainy day so not much of a wait, this place is great to go if you want to sit down eat at one of the FloraBama locations and want something a little less casual (although this is still causal) and more fully closed in. Ole River Grill is across the street from the original Flora-Bama and right next to the Flora-Bama Yacht Club. They have indoor and outdoor patio seating right next to the water. They offer a menu with a concise but good selection that mainly focuses on seafood and sandwich offerings. They have a nice selection of fish options and can do combos of different seafood items prepared fried, grilled or blackened. They offer some quite nice burgers here as well and of course you have plenty of adult beverage options to wash everything down with as well. It seems Flora-Bama is set to take over the world at this rate and I can't wait for the Flora-Bama condos so I won't have to walk so far to get to Flora-Bama world.
