Apprehensive The food was very good, service was as expected from any other restaurant. The one thing that I'm not pleased with and will determine if I return is the outrageous tipping required.... Not expected but required. We were a group of 7 and the restaurant policy is that we have to pay 20% tip whether the service was good or not. This is not what tipping is about! You go to a restaurant for the food and service. If either or both are not up to standard then you complain and don't leave a tip. This required tip leaves me very apprehensive about returning to this place. read more

Where to start? They got fries correct and the ice water was cold so it wasn't all bad. When a Chef tries to be to creative something as simple as Alfredo becomes uneatable and their signature dish "Portabella Mushroom Chicken turns into a mess. Suggestion....something as simple as a four ounce chicken breast should be done to order, what we received was dry tough and needed three hands to break into edible portions. We went for dinner on Sat. March 21, 2026. The restaurant service was really slow and while many tables in the area near the bathrooms were not in service we waited in the outside corridor for a table. Chili chicken bite salad / way too spicy Steak sandwich/ way too spicy Beet salad burning hot has the chef become obsessed with chili oil? The menu needs a refresh as does the interior of the property. We love this venue but will go for drinks only in the future. We had my mother's 70th birthday that we booked weeks in advance for, they overbooked their dining room and kept trying to hurry us out which we ignored. First we were told we would had a 3 hour block for 25-30 people which when we called to confirm we were told no another party was coming in and we would have to be out by 6. We called again and we were told by someone else it would be fine but we had to keep in mind others were coming in.. how is that our problem.. they overbooked and thought they could manipulate our time being there when we paid for drinks, apps and dinner which was expensive enough with an added 20% tip. The waitresses were all over the place not knowing who was with who and all the bills got messed up with people paying for meals they didn't have. It was poor planning on their part and some were getting frustrated with our guests. The managers never came to greet us or ask how we were, they only kept walking by our table several times glaring at our party and everyone noticed. We kept being asked to rush things along and being asked if we were done so they could get more people in due to poor planning and overbooking. When I spend that much I should be able to sit and talk and enjoy my time as long as I want.. and not feel pressured to rush and get out of there and also feel pressured by managers constantly walking by glaring. My mom who turned 70 commented that it would have been nice and professional for the managers to come and say happy birthday or acknowledge her to some degree but instead they just kept glaring standing there and she felt very uncomfortable and just kept trying to ignore it. This was the first time my family which is large and loud we get but it was the first time we had finally been all together since my dad's passing over 10 years ago and we all live across Ontario.. so yes we sang happy birthday loud, and we laughed and ignored the rude staff. I will not be booking an event there again. Also one of the guests did not receive their meal given to another table and there was no reimbursement and her meal came once everyone was finished their meals. read more

We had a reservation for 8 people last night before a concert in Kingston. We didn't get seated until 5:15. A couple ordered a bottle of wine and it took 20 minutes before the server came back and said they didn't have the one they ordered. Another person in our party ordered a mild Caesar and sent it back 3 times because it was very spicy. Another person ordered a rose and sent it back 3 times because they kept brining her a glass of white wine instead. We all ordered our food at 6:00. At 7:30 it still hadn't arrived and we told our server to cancel our orders because the concert was starting. Within 5 minutes they tried bringing us our food at which point we again said, just bring us our bills please. I spoke with the manager on duty as we were leaving about the poor service from the kitchen and I felt that the situation was lost on her as all she had to say was sorry and I can give you one free appetizer on your next visit. One appetizer for 8 people? Your location easily lost $1000 and our server probably $200-$300 in tip income. We have been to this location many times before and have never had this bad of service. read more

I created a yelp account just to write this review. This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Upon arrival, our group (3 adults and a toddler) were met with indifference and visible unfriendliness from the host. Our waitress was able to get our initial drink order and food order in quickly. The drinks and appetizers arrived and were enjoyed by all of us although we did notice the presence of fruit flies around our table. We then did not see our waitress again for more than half an hour. Eventually she came back to ask how I would like my steak cooked - an omen of things to come. The restaurant was maybe 1/3 full aside from one large group seated nearby. We eventually waved down another waitress to ask what was going on with our food - our toddler was getting antsy. She said she would go check quickly and we did not see our original waitress again for another 15 minutes. When she returned, I asked for a second glass of wine which I would not receive for another 20 minutes. Finally our food arrived well over an hour after ordering. The steak was undercooked and unseasoned. The vegetables were far from fork tender and tasted of a an after the fact preparation. Maybe it was my mistake of ordering a steak at Milestones but after driving for a few days on road trip we had hoped the last night would be celebrated with a nice meal. I would warn anyone considering the downtown Kingston location of Milestones to consider any other option. read more

Great food Haven't been to a Milestone's in years and they didn't disappoint. All the meals were really good. The 1989 Chuck burger with gluten free bread was really tasty. The steak was 8oz but looked between 6-8oz however tasted great. The roasted mushroom soup was an amazing starter. The salads like the goat cheese beet was amazing as well. The food was 5 star! I had the Wagu meatloaf and blue cheese iceberg lettuce salad which were both delicious. Portions were generous. My daughter's steak sandwich was also delicious. My wife's sweet chicken chili bowl likewise. Our server Mike was attentive and managed to get us our food before the large group adjacent to us so that we had no extended wait for food. If there was anything to critique it would be the ambience. Nothing negative but it wasn't a quiet cozy dining experience. Maybe the fact that it was Friday night just before Christmas? The manager did visit our table to check on us as well. We have eaten at the Keg a number of times but on the basis of tonight's experience Milestones will be our go-to moving forward. read more

The two stars rating is for the ambiance. Multiple chances yet still the same surly host, attitude for days. Down right rude and least of all welcoming. Servers are generally quite friendly but vanish for 20-30 minutes at a time. No one is reading body language of "help" so you're forced to interrupt other staff if you need anything beyond beverage or food delivery. We did not order appetizers and after an hour commented on how long it always takes, but the food is usually delicious, but this was extraordinarily long. Not this time, food was actually gross. Rice was disgusting, fries were dried out and the rest was ill textured and varied in doneness. The chicken salad entree is definitely big enough to share between two people! Milestones has beautifully renovated the old historic location it resides in in downtown Kingston. Although the interior is beautiful, we opted for the patio due to great weather. The patio isn't large, but is quite concealed, which is nice. What I'll remember for next time is to ensure I have a sweater or pashmina with me, as the patio is subject to a bit of a wind tunnel, which was completely unexpected in the hot weather, and we all felt quite chilled in the early evening. The interior is also extremely well air conditioned, so I'd make a note of that if you plan to dine in. Didn't sample the food, but the others that did had a great experience. Drinks were great, service is good, and they are well known for their fancy bellini's if that's your thing. A good location in downtown Kingston, if you like the big chains. read more

I had the worst dining experience of my entire life at this particular Milestone's location. I really like Milestones, but will not return to this one. I went with a couple of friends for Sunday brunch. We sat in the bar area. We ordered about 10 minutes in and enjoyed our juice and coffee. No one informed us that there was to be any delay in receiving our food (this is important later). After about forty-five minutes and seeing THREE separate tables who sat down after us getting their food before us (all with larger groups), we asked our server the reason for the delay. His response was "didn't anyone at the door tell you it would be at least 30 minutes to get your food?" Clearly not. No apologies, nothing. We ended up waiting 1.5 HOURS for our meals, which were disgusting and not worth the wait. My friend's breakfast was soggy and clearly undercooked. They gave me the wrong omelette, and my third friend's eggs weren't even poached properly. At this point, we asked to speak to the manager, who was insufferable and rude. He refused to apologize to us and basically refused to take any blame for the awful service and food we received. Considering there are MANY other great restaurants in Kingston that provide both excellent food and service, I will never return to this Milestone's. It's a shame because the experience reflects on my perception of Milestone's as a chain, and I've been to other Milestone's that were quite excellent. Long story short: don't give this awful restaurant your business. The wait staff was rude, inattentive and apologetic and the food was terrible. read more

I've never been to Milestones before (despite it being, so I'm told, such a classic), and I must say, this place knows how to assure you that your visit doesn't make you feel like you're at just another chain restaurant. It felt authentic and the food was incredible. I ordered the "Fork and Knife" Breakfast Sandwich, which is basically fried egg, bacon, cheddar, sausage, arugula, and tomatoes between two thick pieces of French toast. It was super delicious. And great value for like $16. My girlfriend ordered the Mayan Burger (famous for its avocado salsa), and now she swears by it. Head over there and treat yo' self. :) read more

Went during lunch with a group of 9, waited over an hour and fifteen minutes and had to take all our meals to go (my ceasar salad was okay). About an hour after we ordered the manager approached our group to apologize and concede that he was understaffed. He went on to say that there was another group there that was larger than hours and in so many words that he was putting all of our food in to-go containers. We went there with a group of people and they prepared us a menu. One of the items was an 8 ounces ribeye with mashed potatoes. When it came it was 4 ounces or less. While the staff were friendly and it was interesting to be in the old S&R building (hardly recognizable other than the front windows) this was possibly one of the worst brunches I've ever had. All the usual spots had lineups so we decided to give it a try. At $21+ tax you get a mimosa (ok), fruit salad (ok but instead of using only ripe fruit they used underripe melon to round out the dish dusted in powdered sugar - ouch) and choice of benny or omelette. I was truly hungry when I arrived but I could barely make it through half the steak benny - undercooked eggs and overcooked potatoes. At $52 Inc tax this was an expensive experiment. Perhaps they are more known for desserts and drinks? Perhaps it was an off day for the kitchen staff? Regardless I won't be returning anytime soon. If I could give zero stars I would. My three friends and I came into the restaurant hoping to get a table near our six other friends (it was one of their birthdays). We were told over the phone we would get a table near them and when we went into the restaurant the hostess said we would have to wait 20 minutes for a table- which we were completely okay with. Flash forward 45 minutes, we ask what the timing of our table looks like (considering it was 25 minutes past our estimated) and they immediately bring us to a manager. The manager had nothing but horrible things to say to us, proceeded to tell us we were being "annoying" and that we actually hadn't been there for the 45 minutes that we had been. We were completely gaslit and I felt completely disrespected from the manager (his name was Leo). He ended up adding us to waitlist BUT this was already 45mins to an hour after we had arrived. This service was unacceptable and I will NEVER be returning to Milestones Kingston. The hostesses should've put us on a waitlist immediately and considering they didn't, the manger should've put us ahead of the other people once we expressed our concerns. I am extremely disappointed in the service here, especially since I am a long time milestones customer. read more

Been here a few times and the experience is always mixed. Food is great but sometimes the issues aren't the staff, but how the staff handles situations. One visit had a very rowdy table of engineers celebrating graduation (hey good for them) but they started getting out of hand as the drinks kept coming. Many tables were visible annoyed and we ended up leaving. I get that you need to keep people happy, but when the entire restaurant is annoyed with one table, something needs to be done. My last visit ended up with a very very overcooked burger, luckily it was replaced with no issues so bonus points there, although I would have appreciated a small discount since I ended up eating ten minutes after my girlfriend finished. I've ended at this rating because I feel that with a restaurant that has a mood like Milestones does, the service should be top notch to match, and its just not there. It's not bad, and I'd be willing to give them another chance, but it's more like East Sides service, and this should be a bit above that. read more

This used to be one of our favorite dinner spots in Kingston. The butternut squash ravioli was out of this world! It was a "signature" dish so I thought it would be around forever. Wrong! They've since changed it. Now they skimp on the goat cheese and glazed pecans (the best part) and added cheaper ingredients like leek and green apple to distract you from the fact that they've all but taken away the expensive ingredients. The new flavors are all competing and makes the dish taste..."confused" for lack of a better word. They also used to have the most amazing dessert called "The Cookie". A huge warm baked chocolate chip cookie with vanilla Gelato on top..absolutely heavenly! Of course they got rid of that. We also used to enjoy Wednesday $50 "Date nights", which includes an appetizer, two dinners, and a dessert. However, they've dwindled down the choices included in that promotion (aka removed some of the better entres so they can make more money). It's sad that it's so clear that corporate had to change things about this place to make it more of a money maker. Milestones really used to feel like a quality restaurant, now it just feels like every other chain. read more

Went last night for a night out with my parents. Sat at the tables by the bar and were completely ignored. Approached the bar and waited forever before a passing waiter asked if I need help. I asked if the tables by the bar get service and he apologized and sent someone over. The girl brought us our appetizer without any side plates or napkins. Didn't remove the empty glasses. Entrees involving pasta were cold. My dad was getting frustrated as we were never checked on throughout the meal and said aloud the service sucks. The waitress brought us the bill with the machine and left. She never came back after our transaction went through so we just left. Never going back. read more

Relatively new restaurant in the old S&R building, which has been amazingly renovated and looks fantastic. There's a bar section, a full dining area, and a small outdoor patio. Service is friendly and the food seemed pretty decent: I tried the pesto and brie flatbread and the garlic caesar salad which were both tasty. We were in town for a conference and decided on milestone's for supper... Big disappointment! The server was PHENOMENAL! SHE DID THE BEST SHE COULD CONSIDERING THE POOR QUALITY FOOD THAT WAS BEING SENT TO OUR TABLE OF 6! 1. French onion soup came 1/2 full, it was topped up when asked but then came back very very bland... Did they top it up with water? 2. Surf and turf 8oz steak ordered medium arrived in a pool of blood with overcooked shrimp marinating in the steak blood. Green beans along side were old and wrinkly yet not cooked at all! The manager took the steak away to be re-fired on a small plate and disappeared with my food for a good 15 mins. 3. Sirloin steak ordered medium arrived in a large pool of blood and was almost impossible to cut through let alone chew. The server took the entire plate back to be refired. The manager returned with both steaks on teeny tiny plates and assured us they were cooked to medium- he noticed that my colleague was missing her entire plate of sides and when asked if the server removed it for the refire we said yes but he never came back with her plate, so we both tried to eat or steaks from tea saucers but nope! Still bleeding! Worst meal ever! Apps were good, we ordered the girl's night out special for Monday- 4 Bellini's and 4 apps. Never going back! Grizzly grill will get my money! read more

A wonderful ambience in the old S & R building but a very poor meal and timing of kitchen service. We ordered drinks and two wonderful appetizers and we began the prolonged wait for our entrees (35 minutes). My chicken pesto penne was lovely, tasty, tender and served hot. My guest received her beef and it was stone cold. It took nearly 10 minutes to have our waitress return; she sheepishly and politely took the order back and returned 21 minutes later!!!!!! It was hot but I had completely finished my meal and after waiting for 80 minutes, my guest finally received her bland but now warm dinner. Not satisfactory in the least. The sweet waitress apologized for a third time and offered a free dessert to share. I wanted to go elsewhere for coffee and dessert but she insisted on bringing a 7.0/10 white chocolate cheesecake and weak coffee. We were not charged for this and were offered 2 coupons for future appetizers. A thoroughly less than stellar meal with far too slow service. For the price, unsatisfactory in all regards but the limestone arches and location was nice. Will go elsewhere downtown..plenty of outstanding similarly priced restaurants to choose from! Every Monday for the summer, this location advertises a Bachelorette viewing night. When you go, they put the show on late and the sound is muffled and quiet. You have to request that they put it on despite them advertising it and it all seems like a ridiculous cash grab. The staff are nice and try to help but they don't seem to have any support from those running the restaurant. The food is overpriced and average. The drinks are packed with ice to water them down and expensive. Overall, this place is not worth it. read more

Wow! Took 10 people out for dinner tonight. Ordered the steak frites medium rare but it came out well done. I typically don't return things when they're off a tad but this was way out. I respectfully asked for a re-do but it never came out of the kitchen and sadly the server never followed up until everyone had literally finished their dinner. By that time the server came out and seemed surprised I hadn't gotten my food. Because everyone was already finished I said I'd just finish my wine, to forget dinner and she should take it off the bill which she did. When I was paying the almost $600 bill I asked if she'd talked to her manager to which she replied "huh?". I just said "never mind". I paid the bill and still tipped generously as it wasn't her fault. Nonetheless she should have told her manager who at the minimum should have paid a visit to express his/her regrets. At this point I fault the server for not elevating the kitchen problem. The sad part....the restaurant really wasn't that busy. Sorry Milestone....not a stellar experience where you could have easily recovered. read more
