I had a wonderful experience. Was on the way to Quebec City for a road trip and decided to stop by. The food was very great and the service was excellent. Environment is very clean. I always check the washroom's condition of the restaurant. If the washroom is clean, you can assume the sanitary condition of the restaurant is not bad. The price is very acceptable as well. I think it's actually better than a lot of restaurants found here in Toronto.

I'm surprised Days on Front hasn't had a Yelp review given that it's #1 on TripAdvisor (at times #2). I really wanted to give this 4.5. I think it's 5 in Kingston, but 4 on a broader sense of what it tries to be. It's "Canadian" cuisine, with a more upscale/fine-dining ambiance...more something you'd find in the Toronto scene. It's a good pick to take your parents when they're in town, as was the case the night of convocation when I went with my family, and the place was saturated with my classmates. I only heard about the place from a friend after a prof brought it to her attention. The reason that it's flown under the radar is likely it's location - it's not downtown so from campus, you'd need a car to get there. At its price point, the food is very good: -Got their raspberry mojito as my drink - very refreshing. -I got the chef's feature, which was mahi mahi with a very interesting salad. Don't remember all the ingredients, but pickled leek stood out for me. Salad was better than the protein in my opinion. -Sister got the poutine with short ribs and brie - I think this challenges Chien Noir's duck confit poutine. -Dad got steak+fries - Chien noir does it better, especially the frites -Mom got the pasta dish, which I didn't try, but she said it was good Definitely recommend this place if it's accessible to you. Great food, awesome atmosphere, and I think a huge virtue is the price point. A comparable experience in Toronto would probably be at a 30-40% premium.

We scoped out a few places and landed here for a change from the typical pub vibe, Italian pasta joints around the corner, or chains like Jack Astor's. We beat the lunch crowd, arriving just before 2 PM. Service was great--we were seated immediately and ordered a few tapas: some roasted Brussels sprouts and a selection of meat options including Persian BBQ lamb, achiote grilled chicken, and sticky pork ribs. The chicken was my least favorite, though it wasn't bad. Everything else was absolutely delicious and flavorful. I'd really like to come back another time for proper drinks--they have an impressive wine list and a nice selection of sangrias that caught my eye. Definitely worth a return visit if you're passing through Kingston.

They have a private party room downstairs which is also where the restrooms are located so the restaurant isn't really accessible. They recommend 3-4 dishes per person. This can be expensive as most dishes are in the 20 dollar range. The steak with chimichurri sauce was excellent!!! But was also $44.00 for about 13 small slices. We also ordered a Thai green curry cod that comes with cashews infused in the sauce. We had a nut allergy at the table so they were able to remove the cashews to make the dish nut free. Service was decent but this is a dining environment where you are not rushed out the door. Dishes come out sporadically so you are meant for slow dining. This is a good place to celebrate a special occasion or if you just want something different while in Kingston.

Really insane that my max 30$ meal turned to 60$. I've been to this restaurant the most throughout my undergrad, love their food, and always thought/spoke highly of it. This starts from the basic decor to the Korean lady traditionally running the kitchen. Menu prices were very reasonable, catering to the student demographic. Gam Ja Tang (pork bone soup) was a pleasant surprise, with large pieces of pork neck bone and fall-off-the-bone meat in the mildly spicy fresh kimchi broth. But the potato could've used more time to soak up the bold soup flavours. The colourful Bibimbap was served with a nice runny egg but the chopped vegetables caused stirred rice to be watery. That was atoned by a popping platter of Korean Seasoned Fried Chicken in sweet & spicy gochujang sauce. The boneless half portion was huge. Pieces were crunchy & saucy in one bite! This restaurant is a short drive up Princess St from downtown with city parking nearby. Both patio & indoor dining options were available. Service was smooth & easygoing. Glad to enjoy this spot for an authentic Korean meal among the few Asian food options in town.

Finally went inside to confirm and then made a reservation of that night on their outdoor patio area. The vibe is really nice since the patio is it's own separate area with some really nice...tiling? Idk it just feels really premium and good vibes outside. Ordered the Nabulsi Cheese small plate as well as the Pan Seared Flat-Iron Steak as the recommendation from the server. I'm really not that well versed in fine dining or just more pricy places, so this was a relatively new experience on my end. The nabulsi cheese plate was exceptional. The blend of flavours (olives, tomatoes, shallots) were really nice mixed together. The cheese was amazing, chewy and just great texture all on a nice sliced baguette. Kinda like a flavour explosion which was amazing. Definitely try the cheese plate. The flat-iron steak wasn't you typical steak cooked along with a potato side (mashed or fries). The steak was paired with a quinoa mix, "panca pepper demi and aji verde" which were the dark brown/black sauce and the green sauce in the picture. Steak was super tender and with both sauces were phenomenal. On the same vein as the nabulsi cheese plate, these dishes are literally flavours I've never tasted before and they were amazing. I never really tried quinoa either and was skeptical as to how it would pair alongside steak but it was actually quite nice since the texture was so different then the other things we ordered. This place is the definition of a hidden gem for me. Not even a Yelp page (woohoo another business added!) and not signage outside indicating what it is. Hopefully this review gives it it's much needed appreciation! 5 stars easily.

Normally I would never get this type of pizza as I love a red sauce, but this was recommended by one of my friend's friends so we tried it. And I'm so glad we did! This pizza is amazing and the flavours are prefectly balanced. Fast forward to this year, I was on a road trip with my husband and my dog and I just HAD to have this pizza again. We ordered the Nona Mela and the Citta pizza (the Citta has prosciutto and brie), and they were both delicious! The Nona Mela was especially good, and my husband agreed that it was a lot better than what he expected. We couldn't finish the two pizzas between us, so we brought the leftovers home and reheated it two days later. Somehow, the pizza was even better than the day of! We actually ordered an extra Nona Mela to bring home to one of my friends who was on the girls trip a few years ago, as she also has been thinking of this pizza. That's how good it is! The pizza is on the pricier side though, but very worth. We sat on the patio since we had a dog and the waiters/waitresses were very nice and gave my dog a water bowl.

It wasn't very busy so we had a dedicated server who was lovely and great with kids. I had the pulled pork your way and chose to get it on a bun with a side salad. The salad was surprisingly fresh and crisp for a bbq place and the pulled pork was nice - not covered in sauce and not too dry. They have a sauce station where you can pick and choose from their house made bbq sauces. This was really fun and unique! My daughter had the kids meal with Mac and cheese and a side of fries. The fries were amazing and I finished most of hers! She was also highly impressed by the amount of crayon colours they had to keep her busy. Kids also get a dessert, we chose the cookie to go as we had to get on the road. The decor was on point with a modern bbq joint. There was a lot of different seating options, tables and bar seats. The music was also well chosen and fit the theme, but wasn't overpowering. Would be a fun place to try when they have live music nights.
