Blue Cheese Iceberg Wedge Salad with extra cost Blue Cheese added.

November 25/2013: Dinner after Alex's show with the regular group. What should have been a joyous occasion but it turned out to be a mediocre experience. It's astounding what restaurants are getting away with now. Poor quality food, embarrassingly small portions, grossly overpriced entrees & slow service. Mine was the Tempura Cauliflower Bites. Very small portion (7 pieces) with an over-priced tag of $15.00. I then went on to the Blue Cheese Iceberg wedge salad with bacon ($14.00). It was skimpily populated with blue cheese so I asked for more. It was served to me & I was promptly charged $5.00 EXTRA for the blue cheese. So, a restaurant skimps on the toppings & then sneakily charges an up charge equal to 36% of the original costs of the item for the extra topping. Seems pretty sleazy to me! Our server (Michelle) was very nice but painfully slow. This may have been the kitchen but slow service is slow service. This is DEFINITELY NOT a do over from my side.

This location used to be my favourite restaurant but was closed during covid. We were able to dine at the spacious patio. The service is great, and the food is served fast--a cozy place to hang out with friends. The food seems not as good as before covid.

Came here on a busy saturday night with our party of 8 and had to wait 20 mins by the bar. The very attentive staff kept us updated all the time as to when our table would be ready. The food when it arrived pretty quickly was excellent for our group except for me. I had the mushroom soup and New York Striplion peppercorn steak.(see pic!) Unfortunately the steak which was supposed to be medium rare came well done. I sent it back and the replcement came barely five mins later done more medium than medium rare. I didn't want to make an issue and accepted it as is. It was totally fine and very tasty though. We finished with the apple crumble which was again excellent. The wait staff was very attentive, friendly and caring though out our dinner. For my slight inconvenience, at the time to pay for the dinner, I was told that my steak was comped. Kudos to the staff for that! I'll be back. 4.5 stars for the food. 5 stars for the ambiance and staff. ( which are great looking BTW!)

Been here many times always a great experience. Love the fries. Lol

I've only tried it myself once, and honestly, it wasn't quite to my personal taste. But food is very subjective, and I'm clearly in the minority in my family! My kids both when they were teenagers and now as adults--have always loved it, and my nephew and niece are big fans as well. The portions were good from what I remember, and the restaurant always seems busy, which says a lot. Just because it wasn't my favorite doesn't mean it isn't doing something right. When so many young people keep coming back and ordering from the same place year after year, that's usually a sign that they're doing a good job. If you're into this style of food, there's a good chance you'll enjoy it as much as the younger generation in my family does!

We ordered the platter for two, it came with samosa, soup, mango juice, salad, choice of pasta or rice & 2 meat options. We opted to try both chicken and beef stew with rice. For starters, The beef samosa was absolutely delicious, it was paired with a green spicy sauce. The soup was light, but flavourful. I have to say the beef stew was my favourite, it was flavourful and the meat was tender. The service was great. It was a chilly in there, the only criticism would be that it could use some personal touches, the restaurant itself seems a little bare. But the food made up for it.

A couple Saturdays ago, I was running a few errands. Once I was done, I felt like visiting a diner for lunch. I did a search and found Poached Dreams Diner in Aurora. I didn't mind driving up from Markham to check it out. It was straightforward getting here. I parked in the parking lot and walked in from what looked like the back of the diner. There's also a front door with a patio that faces Wellington Street East. I was immediately greeted by a young, enthusiast woman. I let her know that I needed a table for one. She got me to a comfortable booth by the window. The catch is that you have to watch your step to get to your seat. It's a treat when I have breakfast out. I thought that I'd be getting french toast. Well, all that changed when I saw a heading for comfort foods on the menu. Nothing makes me happier than seeing open-faced sandwiches on a menu. It was probably during my days living in Winnipeg that I fell in love with such sandwiches and at least a side. New goal: come here and have every open-faced sandwich on the menu. I got cold water to start. It was refreshing and much needed after running errands. I ordered these items for my meal: - Diet Coke (2) - Hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and veggies My Diet Coke came with a glass with ice. I loved it. I wish the can was larger! I needed a second can for dessert. I loved my hot turkey sandwich. There was a generous amount of sliced turkey smothered in sauce over a slice of white bread. I got to choose my starch. I went with mashed potatoes. There was enough gravy over the turkey that I dunked my spoonfuls of mashed potatoes into it. I loved the steamed veggies. They were perfectly cooked. They also went into the gravy. The meal was delicious. I'd order it again. I felt like dessert. I asked if there was any. Baklava with pistachios. I said yes. I thought that it would be a square or rectangle. Nope. I got a roll. Cool! It was perfect. It had the right amount of honey. It was crispy and yummy. So good! I paid my bill at the table. I tipped and then tapped my credit card. I elected to have the receipt texted to my phone, which also signed me up for its points program. Yay! I learned that this diner has been open since June 2025. I'm always late to any party because I seem to live under a rock or in a cave. I'm glad that I visited this eatery. Great food. Great service. Great! I used the washroom before I left. The women's washroom was clean and had a full-length mirror. This eatery is huge. It looks like there's a cafe for those grabbing coffee and maybe a snack before leaving. I look forward to returning for more good eats and drinks. (148)

Upon entering, the space is super spacious and clean. My friend ordered their 2 egg special with bacon, and I ordered their soup and sandwich combo ($12/13). I decided to go with their tuna salad and chicken noodle soup. Upon recommendation from our server, I also ordered their cappuccino- it was very delicious. Amazing food and great service, I would like to come back and try some of their dinners dishes.

Lunch was perfect with lots of soups, salads, and sandwiches to choose from. They even had a soup flight! I opted for butternut squash soup and a small Greek salad. Everything was delicious and portions were perfect. Husband had a chicken pita and decided on tots for his side. I stole a few tots and they were delicious. Nice and crispy. Service was excellent. The place was a cute one-room area with a little bar in the back of the room and booths and tables throughout. The bar had a big screen TV which was showing a baseball game. It looked like they have live music on certain days. It's part of a strip mall so don't miss it.

Mind you the reviews were all old over a year ago. Since COVID I do noticed most restaurants quality post COVID has gone down. Ambiance: It's pretty small with a few tables. Decor is pretty cute and modern. Also super clean with one unisex washroom. You order at the counter and seat yourself like a fast food place. Service: Service was good. The lady took our order and the food came pretty quick. We also got there at 1:30pm so it was empty. Food: We ordered a easy as pie milkshake which is like you apple pie in a milkshake! Pretty cool idea. The pics on the website looks great. However in reality it didn't look like the website pic at all. Just white milkshake. There are tiny chunks of apple/ cookies and a hint of cinnamon. But overall tasteless and not sweet. It's was like I was drinking ice milk with some texture. I was not impressed. We only took a couple of sips and it left a weird after taste so we didn't end up finishing it To share we got the Kimchi poutine. It was essentially fries that were not that crispy soaked with Kimchi and some mayo on top. It was ok a little underwhelming. The 3 sandwiches we got were different so we can try them all: 1. Sriracha honey Karaage chicken sandwich. The chicken was a bit soggy maybe from the sauce. The bun was fresh. The lettuce inside was a bit wilted. 2. Pho beef banh mi sandwich. The beef was a bit dry and the banh mi was tasteless with no flavour 3. Bbq pull pork sandwich. It was sweet and flavourful but again too much sauce made the sandwich a bit soggy. Pricing is fair. But probably won't come back. For $50 I can get better food elsewhere.
