I've never experienced anything like what happened at the LA Fitness in Austell yesterday…read more(11/10/2025). While I was using the Smith machine, another patron walked up, put his bag down, and when I told him I was using it and had two more sets left, he went and told a manager -- Omar. A few minutes later, Omar came all the way from the front of the gym to interrupt my workout and ask me how many sets I had left, apparently to "make sure everyone can use the equipment." What's strange is that there's another Smith machine right behind me that was also occupied, but Omar didn't ask that person anything. When I pointed that out, he said, "We don't have to do that." That made it clear he was only addressing me because someone complained. Then he told the other patron to "just hop on whenever she finishes her two sets." Not when I was done -- but specifically after two sets -- as if a manager can dictate when someone's allowed to use a machine they're already on. To me, that's completely unprofessional. Everyone in the gym pays the same monthly fee. If a machine is in use, you wait your turn -- that's basic gym etiquette. I don't expect special treatment, and I definitely don't expect a manager to interrupt my workout because someone didn't want to wait. If capacity is an issue, the gym should add more equipment. But targeting a member mid-workout to accommodate someone else isn't fair or respectful. The way Omar handled the situation showed a real lack of tact and impartiality. I've always believed gyms should be about mutual respect and shared space, but this experience really left a bad impression. Hopefully, LA Fitness takes this seriously and makes sure managers treat all members equally.

The staff is rude and think it's acceptable to bark at customers when the gym is about to close.read more

This review is based on my tour of the gym. TL;Dr: The tour…read morewas very thorough. The gym is very updated and I have no noticed any odors that the others reviewed, they must have fixed it. The theater cardio room and the female only sections were my favorite. They are always staffed, even late into the night - so you are never alone. We signed up after the tour because we were all pleased. (we were not pushed in any way to sign up). Below are more details about each sections. I am very pleased to see that we have this gym open up. I have been curious about this gym for awhile, and decided today was the day I came to check it out. They are doing a promotion at the moment when the enrollment fee will be $10 for the basic, gold package. They have 3 packages: Gold (which is $10/mo), Platinum (20/mo), and Diamond (30/mo). Gold is the only package that is NO commitment, the others have a 12 month term. You are able to freeze your account for 3 months without penalty. Aspire Fitness is located near Starbucks and Walmart, where the old LA fitness use to be. This gym is open 24/7. And they will always have a staff member in the gym. This is a huge plus for females in my opinion. If it gets dark outside, you are able to ask one of the staff members to walk you outside or watch you to make sure you are safe. (You can never be too sure) My first impression of the place was very pleased due to the bright colors. Everything has been updated and it looks really fantastic. We were greeted immediately by Edwin (I believe that was his name). He gave us a tour of the whole facility and was super kind for answering all of our questions. Highlighted rooms: -Theater cardio room: A different movie is played every day and it is on a loop. The room is dark and cool; but not at all stuffy. -Classes: The next room are for classes, such as zumba or kickboxing. You are able to use a projector to find something more your level if the rooms are not in use. Or if you just want a quiet, little sanctuary to meditate, I can totally see this as being a thing. -Main lobby: The main floor is divided by areas of the body/machine. Free weights are to the left of the building. They use Olympic weights that are made of rubber so it does not damage the weights or the ground when you drop it. -Female only section: There is a female only section that I find very appealing. They have all the machines and equipment available. So if the gym is packed and you are a female - feel free to utilize the guy-free zone. -Crossfit - like workouts: In front of the basketball court. They have even have a tire you can roll. -Second floor: The second floor are lined with different types of cardio machines if you just feel like watching TV. If TV aren't your thing, it seems that you can listen to the radio at each machine, which I think is a nice touch. -Locker room: The locker rooms are updated and they look very beautiful. I didn't notice any smell like the others have mentioned. -The pool is available for the Diamond package. They use freshwater and I didn't notice an odor in any of those areas. -Sauna, tanning and the massage chairs are available for platinum and diamond members and up. You are also able to bring one friend for free if you have either of the two package - not for the gold. Overall, I thought the tour was very thorough. I ended up signing up right there and then because I was very pleased with the facility. I'll update my review about my experiences as a member.

Aspire Fitness is new to Austell and I expect great things. Being the first to review them and them…read morebeing only 5 days old I am being understanding with this review. In about 2 more weeks hopefully I'll come back and give it 5 stars. I had to take 1 star away because of how rocky the rollout was. For at least a month those of us that signed up were told repeatedly that the gym would be opening. It took over a month from the expected date for it to actually open. Hours - 5 Stars 24 hours a Day/ 7 Days a Week! There is always someone on staff and all areas are fully accessible. You can't beat this! The facility 4 - Stars This used to be the former LA Fitness location. I must say they have done a wonderful job of updating certain parts of the facility to be more modern and up to date. The bright colors, flat screen tvs, lights and metal makes it really exciting to come in and work out. The drag is they did nothing to the bathroom and pool and jacuzzi or sauna area. In fact. The pool area still has that foul smell it used to have at LA Fitness, which is why I never used it. They did update the lockers which add a nice flair. They could have done the same to the sinks and countertops, but whatever. The equipment - 4.5 Stars They have brand new, state of the art equipment including a Jones Machine (better than a Smith Machine), Olympic style plates, cross fit equipment, a very nice training area with a simulated tire throw, ropes, sled, parachute and more. There is also a Women's Only section, designated for Women. Sometimes it can be a little intimidating to work out with men grunting, sweating and dropping weights. This area allows women to workout in their own area. There are a few more pieces of standard equipment I wish they had like a triceps dip machine and more squat machines and at least 2 Jones Machines. Classes - 5 They have two separate classrooms one dedicated to spin and one dedicated to Zumba/Aerobics type classes. The cool part about it is they are VIRTUAL. That's right. You get to choose the amount of time and the intensity of your workout and then go in and have a class with your virtual instructor. There are no classes to sign up for or set times. Cardio Equipment - 5 Plenty or treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and stair masters. On top of that they have a 24-hour Cardio Theatre with a variety of different cardio equipment to choose from. You watch a movie in a movie theatre setting and this allows you to get your cardio in with a great distraction. There are other neat things to mention like the massage chairs, game room with a pool table and ping pong table (accessible to platinum and diamond members). A Kids Club where you can bring your children ($10 per child/per month) and a full size indoor basketball court. Choose from the $10/month Gold Membership, $20/month Platinum Membership or the $30/month Diamond Membership. The $10 membership does not require a contract while the 2 upgraded packages do. The staff is pleasant, friendly and helpful. There are quite a few that are still learning the ropes so double check what you are told but overall I expect great things and I look forward to my many workouts here. I've already canceled one of my other gym memberships. We'll see about the other one.

The closest Planet Fitness or gym in general would be at least 15 minutes away from me.This isn't the newest or nicest gym however the equipment, service and overall value is extremely consistent. It's a large gym with plenty of cardio machines, and free weights etc . If you come between 7 and 9 AM it's super packed, also between 6 PM and 8:30 PM. Pros: The facility is always clean, I'm able to take a shower after every work out with no problem. There are always plenty of bottles with cleaning solution to wipe down the machines. There are plenty of machines and I was have access to the machine of my choice. Cons:At one point there was a security guard walking around the gym, it kind of made me nervous instead of feeling safe. The front desk staff is Ok, not overly friendly but not rude either. It seems dark in the there I'm not sure why there are plenty of windows but it doesn't get enough sunlight or have I guess LED lights inside... I'm not sure but it does seem dark. This isn't a newer facility and it looks like it. I think it was built five years ago but it seems like it's been there forever.
