I've been coming here for years now, and as much as I absolutely miss getting an oat cappuccino and a cinnamon sugar doughnut and sitting with my laptop or a book for hours, I now get to make new traditions during this trying time! I have not received friendly, or professional service out of the 3 times I've came to this café 1st visit was weeks back around 3pm, went to order food. The guy looked at me as if I was asking for him to cut off his hands , he points to the machines "I'm not making food now." I'm like....o..k so I get a croissant. 2nd visit, "hi what do you want , here , by." What ever , fast pace café normality , all good, not as big a deal. 3rd visit, during the whole ordering process the guy at the register seemed agitated, like we should know what's what...we are the "annoying" customers that have to read a menu and ask what something is. when I brought with me someone new who had never been there. The server also had friends at the counter who he wanted to finish his conversation with about going out tonight after they close and about having sex with his ex to a song that was playing on the cafes radio... we were interrupting this much needed public discussion and he didn't like that much Like to each there own , "you and me baby ain't nothin but mammals" I get it, everyone is having sex, and yes sometimes to ridiculous songs on the radio , But it's not very professional, especially to be aggravated by your customers for interrupting your sex conversation to do your job... I don't leave reviews often, because I don't know other people's lives, who knows what their day was like to make them this way at that moment to make this review. I always wanna get someone to smile of be happy if I can. This is not the please, 3 times no happiness, and it's sad because the café is gorgeous and in a great location. Hey! I've lived on this street the last 5 years and the opening of this beautiful cafe surely piqued my interest. But unfortunately it doesn't seem to have much more past the fine wood floors and steel espresso machine. After eyeing up the enticing menu of sandwiches for a few minutes we were disappointed to find out they had no meat or cheese! Okay, we just had some $3 bagels with plain cream cheese, the only flavor they offered, and some macchiatos or what appeared to just be some tiny espressos. Then it was time for us to sit down, relax, and tend to our usual technological distractions but after a few minutes in the empty cafe we were called over from across the room to pick up our macchiato sans the second one our clerk managed to forget. It is nice because it is a large, comfortable space. I would probably give them 4 stars, if it weren't few a few significant things. Their business model thrives on scarcity. Customers, trekking from parts of Bushwick and Ridgewood expecting a nice place for a snack and internet, are the ones that will be disappointed that they have an inventory that only lasts until about noon (despite multiple people asking for food after that time for months now), and the wifi stops working after half a dozen people start using it. It is kind of crazy to me that they don't just stock more food and get a stronger wifi, it would easily make it the best spot in a huge area, but to have to go over there just to tell you they are out of everything and then have the internet not work, makes it a pretty dysfunctional coffee shop . read more

I wish I could give this place a better review, especially because it seems so popular. Positives: - The bagels are really fluffy and fresh. - VERY clean, very artsy, cool aesthetic. Ehh: - The coffee itself is just okay. - The layout is a little weird. Not much counter space to work with when adding sugar or milk to your coffee. - Baristas are a bit socially awkward... It seems to me that people expect a macchiato to be big. Instead it is as small as an espresso and steam milk on the side. Normally at Starbucks they pour steam milk in for you and sugar altogether. At this Milk & Pull cafe they make the steam milk on the side so you can pour in your espresso yourself depending on your bitterness preference. Oh don't forget the sugar. read more

There was no one in the coffee shop and the guy behind the counter managed to ignore my order and questions. There were no meats and he waited until after I finished ordering to tell me that he had only cream cheese and bagels. I ordered a macchiato and instead got a sorry looking cup of espresso with very poorly steamed milk. I'm not sure the guy knew what a macchiato was. Or how to operate the espresso machine. We got the order to stay. And like I said, no one was in the coffee shop except us and two other people using their computers. When he finished toasting our bagels he wrapped them in tin foil instead of giving me a plate and just said "yo, your bagels". The only reason this place gets a star is because the music was pretty good. Otherwise everything was over priced, rude, and not what I ordered. I love this place BUT the new dude who works there does not know how to make coffee (specifically espresso drinks with any kind of steamed milk). He burns the milk every time and doesn't know how to pour. I love this coffee shop, not as a place to do work (although it feels like a workspace), but as a place to get great food and coffee. That is no longer the case when this guy is working. This is not a rant, either. Just a plea with management to train staff better. read more

Cute little coffee shop with a relaxed vibe with ample inside seating and if you are lucky you can snag one of the few seats outside. I was there with friends for an hour or so in which I had the regular iced coffee and chai tea latte. The iced coffee was good coffee (stump town) with regular milk and sugar though they have a lot of options I am looking forward to going back and trying. read more

It's quiet but doesn't feel like a library; it's spacious and sunny - great place to read a book or get some work done, but still welcoming enough to the "human experience" that a friend and I were able to have a lengthy, albeit rather quiet, chat. & perhaps even more importantly, they rock the hell out of a beautifully crafted cortado! & the bagels/sanwiches are great. & the donuts, though I haven't tried them, look amazing. Nice environment. Lots of natural light. Staff lacks people skills. I went up to the counter where there was no line, and the barista didn't acknowledge me while she was making a drink. After about a minute of me standing there she said "I'll be with you in a second." Okay, that's fine. She took my order for a Chai Latte, extra hot with skim milk. I went to my table to wait for it and I hear her call "extra hot skim latte." I went up and said "was that my Chai?" And she said "I can MAKE it a chai." I said "..okay." She called to me "did you want a dirty chai or a regular." I said regular. Then I heard her say to the next customer "she didn't ORDER a chai, but it's okay." She made me the chai and it wasn't very hot or flavorful. It made me uncomfortable and pissed. Probably won't be back which is sad. read more

Milk and Pull is a trendy cafe that serves good Stumptown coffee and good bagel sandwiches. The service is definitely uneven from time to time, whether it's unfriendly or slow, or completely aloof. My main gripe with this place is the patrons though. Having a child in a city is challenging enough for other reasons, but I don't need your dirty looks directed at me because my one year old is crying a little bit. Perhaps you should complete your schoolwork at home if being in a social setting distracts you. Or wear headphones. Employees are impolite and unenthusiastic, took 20 minutes to make a bagel with cream cheese- one guy was making like 10 sandwiches even though there were 2 other people working? Majority of customers were white hipsters which seemed like a natural pair with the decor, which is pretty urban outfitters basic. None of the employees put any of my food in a bag even though I said I was getting it to go, had to reach over the counter to bag my own food which tbh is pretty unprofessional like why even ask then?
