Good food, hipster service. Meaning slow and they usually screw up your order at least once. But what can you expect from millennials? The last time i was there tootsie Bell behind the counter in a corny beret and ill fitting thrifted clothes was too busy talking to me about perfumes to get my order right. So I ordered two sandwiches, put it in my own bag because God forbid these people do their job, walk three blocks home sit down to eat with my friend who's a super picky eater and realize that his order isn't right. So I stomped back to milk and Pull and politely told her that I had ordered a botanic not a Franklin and I would like it fixed immediately. So she told the nice young man making the sandwiches to fix it while she proceeded to leave the counter and go flirt with some greasy hipster instead of doing her job. As per usual in this Cafe. Not to mention this whole ordeal made me late for work. Bottom line is there are a million places to get bagels and coffee, so only go here if you want to be seen working on your laptop by other hipsters while drinking overpriced coffee that you have to basically make yourself. read more

Even though I have other coffee shops closer to home, this is my goto place for a lazy Sunday breakfast or a pit stop while strolling the neighborhood. Great coffee, tasty bagels and a very friendly staff who are always talkative and seem happy to be there. read more

I stop by Milk & Pull when I'm on my way home from an early shift in the AM and pick up a Meatless Paul. Damn, that's a good sandwich. I have experienced the long wait times that other users have mentioned, but the friendliness of the staff and the food make up for it, usually. It's a nice place to wind down or spend time in when you have time to spare, but the environment is not great for a rush and jush coffee break. The food at this place is pretty good. The decor and everything is very cool, very hipster. The food is the only reason why i rated this place 3 stars. Their accuracy of the orders are horrible. The last few times that i have been there, not one order was right. i usually have a to-go order so whatever sandwich i order is already wrapped in foil and of course Im on the go so i always forget to check (but I feel like i shouldn't have to if they just got the order right the first time). Good thing the food is good so whatever they give me i still eat it. BUT they need to improve on producing the sandwich according to that was requested. On to the food. I usually order the borough park. It's great, it's fresh. No question on the quality of ingredient that is used. The bagels are soft and on point. I even tried their donuts which were pretty good as well. Glazed and mocha donuts were great. Im interested in trying more of their pastries. Can't complain about their coffee, it's well brewed and moderately strong-at least to my taste (it take it black). Service needs lots of improvements. Some staff have a bit of an attitude when calling out orders. They are pleasant when taking your order but when they make your sandwich, expect to wait a good 10 minutes.I get that the sandwiches they offer take time but if i am tipping you upon payment and waiting for 10 minutes for that sandwich, there shouldn't be an reason why my order wasn't accurate. oh yeah, and if i am paying $2 extra for additional toppings, i should expect them to be there. This hasn't happened just once either. I get that things get mixed up sometimes. But if i order something something in 3 different time and non of them were right then there's something wrong with that. It has happened numerous times. Like i said, i am on the go so when i actually get to eating my sandwich, i get disappointed bc sometimes the extra stuff that i requested is missing or just not right. Since you can watch them make your sandwich, I have observed the person making my sandwich check their phone and chat with their co-workers when they should be producing my sandwiches accurately in a timely manner. And since it takes them so long to make a sandwich it usually means efficiency is lacking. It is not orderly and i have observed this as well. I have been pretty patient with this place. I would still come here but i would like to see some improvement since this place has a potential to be great. Maybe writing the orders down for the person making these orders so that they can stop screwing up the orders. A few positives are the free wi-fi, natural light, and cozy feel. Nice place to read a book, do some work on the laptop etc. I have even studied there a little before as well. getting a seat is tough if you require some table space, but once you get a spot it's a pleasant place. read more

As a resident of Ridgewood, I've been looking for a local coffee shop that has excellent coffee as well as an enjoyable atmosphere where you want to spend your afternoon. I am thrilled that Milk & Pull opened a second location nearby. They have a warm industrial space with great sunlight and lots of open room. Free wifi and tables make it double as a working space if needed. Tip: pastry goodies don't get replenished, so get there early. As a bonus, they have an assortment of milk alternatives for those seeking non dairy options. read more

Came one afternoon ...Cafe was nearly empty The barista/cashier guy seemed kinda lost/ confused..The chai tea latte was just a no - no ( they use liquid concentrate ) . The mocha latte was just ehhh, tasted really bland and watery. Waste of money as I just took not even 2 sips and the drinks were both ended up in the trash can.Poor quality and poor service. read more

The coffee is amazing, the baked goods are great. This is also a really great place to get some work done! The bagels taste like absolutely nothing despite the freshness of the ingredients, and are far to expensive for their quality. Do not mistake this place for a bagel shop. First off let me start off by saying I'm a regular at Norma's coffee shop. I thought I'd give this place a try since it's in the neighborhood and I like to support local businesses. I have been here a couple of times it's a pretty big space, staff is friendly, coffee is good the down side is their prices of their small flavored latte is $5 that is pricey for Ridgewood I could get a cheaper latte in Manhattan. When I asked the girl why is it so much she said well most places don't serve 16 ounce as a small I don't know what places she is talking about, Norma's serves 16 ounce as the smallest size for a latte too and it's cheaper $4.36 to be exact. I won't be back as long as the prices are $5. read more

Hit and miss service. We went there every day for a week and some baristas offered to heat up our ham & brie croissant, some were friendly, some were too cool to work there and ignored you. Didn't get a punch card till our last day, which sucks. The pastries are really good, the service is just inconsistent. read more

I thought my coffee was good but I'm disappointed that a coffee shop doesn't serve decaf coffee. I sometimes like to have a cup of coffee in the afternoon without getting buzzed. Great addition to the neighborhood. I love the decor and the coffee is really good. Sometimes the service can be a little slow but overall all the Baristas are nice and friendly. The dough donuts are delicious and the bagels are good too!! I like that they have a nice restroom and provide free water if you are there for a while. Also the selection of almond milk and simple syrup makes for a perfect cup. The cold brew is a little pricey but it's delicious!! read more

Been in here a couple times and have been pretty disappointed. The interior is pretty and spacious. A weird card minimum considering how expensive the coffee is. It is not as good as the price would imply. Plus, the pastries are also wildly expensive for the quality. Would I pay $4 for an excellent almond croissant and be okay with it? Just barely. This was not excellent. I also just generally resent all coffee shops with no decaf options that aren't herbal tea. Or green tea. Which has caffeine. It's just lame. We first started coming to milk and pull when I was pregnant... since then we've brought our son most days for the expertly made lattes, kid friendly bagels and cookies and perfect service. The staff is so kind and excellent at what they do. Our son took his first steps there just a month or two ago! These guys probably knew this review was coming - Just waited nearly a half hour for two sandwiches. The place wasn't even busy. My boyfriend stood at the end of the counter after ordering for about 15 minutes and no one acknowledged him. I saw people who came in after us get served before us & even watched the guy who was preparing the food stop working to sit & eat something he made for himself. He licked his fingers & then went back to work without washing his hands, too. Once we asked what was up they admitted that they weren't preparing our food. No responsibility taken for the mistake - rather, we were asked if we were sure we ordered. . . True. Good coffee but I had to stop wasting my time going there because every time I've been there they've run out of bagels by 1pm... it's one of the only quick bagel place in the area and every single time I'm turned away because they have no more food!! They definitely aren't wasting bagels which is great but they've been a business long enough to know how many more bagels they need for the amount of people they having coming through there!! No matter how cool this place may seem for this neighbourhood i can't get over the worst service they provide. They serve nothing but bagel sandwiches, and those take forever to make! Once we waited for 15 minutes just to go check on what's going on with our order and find out they forgot all about it cz they got too busy chit chatting with their coworkers. Mind it there were 3 people behind the counter and no other customers to be served! Tables are almost always dirty! So nasty! Had to ask them to wipe the table just so i can sit down on more than one occasion. They would serve coffee in a to go cup even if you "ordered for here" i assume because they want to avoid washing extra coffee mugs - not "green" at all, super wasteful. They also offer plastic cups for water...why?? Seems like a hipster place like this would be more environmentally friendly. They are open till 6, but they run out of bagels by noon and dont restock for the rest of the day, so you can only get a coffee here in the afternoon, forget about food. Overall i'd only pop in here to grab a cappuccino "to go" every once in a blue moon, and may be a sandwich if i'm lucky enough to score a bagel at 1 pm. But really wish i could come here more often if the service was improved and more menu variety added. This place has tons of potential. read more

They serve Stumptown Coffee, which is the holy grail as far as I am concerned. It is chocolately and delicious and is truly a "hair-raiser." I also love the space - it is large, but still maintains a great, quaint cafe-style atmosphere. We bought a bag of Stumptown Hair-Raiser to make from home in addition to our iced coffees, and I can't say anything bad about this coffee. I went on a Sunday, so it was pretty packed, and I didn't get to try the food. I would definitely like to the next time around! read more

Had a rude experience with one of the baristas, (not sure of name, had glasses) they didn't seem to enjoy their job which made enjoying the coffee shop hard to enjoy as well.
