4.25 stars. I usually go to boba shops for fruit or milk teas, but at Milk Tea Lab, it's their tonics that keep me coming back. Their Laboratory Tonics -- usually some mix of soda & syrup -- can be made an infinite amount of ways when you factor in flavor combinations & topping options. My favorite so far has been Strawberry Tonic with lychee jelly. Their Alien Tonic, which very fittingly is colored green from the green apple & lemon flavoring, goes well with the Red Heart jelly for a strawberry kick. Not healthy in the least, but good for days when I want a sweet drink with little to no caffeine (depending on the soda used.) Stopped by Milk Tea Lab and tried their brown sugar boba milk tea The brown sugar flavor was rich and creamy with the perfect sweetness, and the boba was soft and chewy just how I like it. One thing that made this place stand out was the fun science/lab theme inside. They had a periodic table display which was such a cute and creative touch -- definitely makes the shop memorable and gives it a unique vibe compared to other boba spots. Spotted this place while looking for something refreshing and decided on a passionfruit green tea! The drink itself was just what I wanted - cold and refreshing. A tad bit on the sweeter side despite asking for 50% sweetness but I didn't mind since I was thirsty. Boba was the right texture too, chewy but not too hard to chew, just the way I like it. I also ordered a large too, which I thought would be the same large as other boba spots but it was so much bigger here and for a much better price. My large passionfruit green tea with double boba was only $6.50, so not only was the drink refreshing but so was the price. I had boba catered for my baby shower in November from milk tea lab, and I'm very happy with the service and product. The catering team was very quick to respond to my emails, and provided very thorough information. The prices are very reasonable and I love that they did delivery with cooler rentals. The Jasmine milk tea with lychee jelly was my favorite, and I can't wait to try the other flavors at this location. The boba delivery for my baby shower was so seamless and the process to return the cooler was super easy. Honey roasted milk tea with grass jelly 5/10 - watery, hardly any tea flavor, not creamy at all - sweetness level was okay, no complaints there - have have options for GIANT cups - grass jelly not made well, had a sandy flavor compared to other boba shops Organic Jasmine Milk Tea 3/10 - very floral (I liked that part) but watery. - tea flavor is very minimal and similar to the Quickly tea flavors Overall, the shop is cute and has claw machines. They open late so if you ever have cravings it'll probably hit the spot. Service is unremarkable but I wasn't expecting much so this didn't impact my thoughts on the place. The drinks were very mid. It wasn't good but it wasn't the worst. It's not too expensive so maybe I'd come back if I reallllllllly wanted a drink. Ever since moving to the area, Milk Tea Lab has become my go-to boba spot. I've tried a few of their drinks ~ honey roasted milk tea, mango milk tea, green Thai tea, and classic milk tea - all with lychee jelly as my topping. Everything has been delicious. Worth noting their sizes are huge! Regular is like a normal place's large and a large is like an extra large, at least in my experience. Service is excellent as well. They have a rewards system (virtual stamp card) so be sure to enter your phone number at the cashier. I once got a text for a reward that expired by the time I came back, but they honored it anyways. This type of customer service made me a repeat customer. There is ample seating for those that want to dine-in or hang out. I think it's one of the only places open pretty late at night so good option for group hangouts. read more

Living in SSF, there's not a ton of boba places. But there is Milk Tea Lab that's conveniently located on El Camino (street parking in front of their shop is usually abundant). Milk Tea Lab is open fairly late to satisfy your milk tea cravings. They are also available on a few food delivery apps. Between me and my partner we've tried a handful of items, but I keep coming back to Boba Crush and Honey Roasted Milk Tea. IMO their drinks are sweeter than other shops, so if you like a lightly sweet bevy, I'd request an even less sweet level here. read more

And the service is always very good, no matter what time you walk in. They have two claw machines, two vending machines, and some small business merch going on the side as well. FAIR WARNING however, it's right next to South City High school so I definitely don't recommend going right when school comes out because the wait can be a nightmare and annoying. Parking is always hit or miss also. My order : Roasted honey milk tea with grass jelly - I add boba sometimes but honestly doesn't really need it. This is my favorite thing to order on the menu I always recommend this to everyone. Mango 101 - If I'm feeling fruity, I usually order this. It's pretty sweet, but the good kind. This place was still open late in the evening so we decided to try. I saw reviews to try the honey roasted oolong with grass jelly so I got that 50% sweet/ice, large size. There was no line around 9PM on a week night. We got our drink fast and the large size is bigger than your standard large boba! It was sweeter than I had wanted but now I know to get 25% next time. The drink was overall fine, very standard. Definitely worth it for the price point these days. It had some honey and tea taste but not too strong. Wish the grass jelly pieces were big chunks (like itea) so they didn't all rise up to the top of the drink. Overall, this satisfied a boba craving, albeit wasn't anything too special. A friend had recommended this place to me and one late night she and I happened to be in the area so we decided to go. The nice thing about this location is that they are open late for those late night boba cravings. She got a large brown sugar milk tea and because I had never been there before I got just a large classic milk tea. My drink was good but nothing special. In hindsight, I should have gotten her drink because it looks very good. The staff was very friendly to us and I should've probably asked for a drink recommendation. Boyfriend took me to this place because he knows how much I LOVE boba... ordered something and man I was beyond disappointed... The drinks here taste so artifical!!! Not a hint of natural flavors were in the different drinks that I got and so sugary!!! I got a mango milk tea and got to try their brown sugar milk tea as well. The mango milk tea tasted nothing of mango at all... it was like I was drinking a liquid candy which really wasn't pleasant. The brown sugar one was SUPER sweet as if I were drinking just the brown sugar itself. The tea here itself isn't that strong either which is a huge problem if it's going to have that much sugar in them. The service is pretty good however! I do like the employees rhat work here and everytime I went they were really nice. Once I thought I brought my wallet with me and ordered and when I went to pay I found out that I didn't have my card or cash on me which I was devastated... I tried to pay with my phone and it wasn't working with their system and was about to leave the shop before they said they would just give me the two drinks I ordered on the house! That was genuinely so sweet of them to do I felt really happy that night and it made me want to go back again. I've also tried almost every boba spot around the peninsula and I've got to say that Milk Tea Lab is one of my favorite. I always get their Honey Roasted Milk Tea with Grass Jelly which is one of their most popular and preset things to order. While you're able to order a good amount of different kinds if drinks their specialty comes with the quality of taste. It doesn't taste like pure syrups or powder which most boba spots use, it actually taste like tea from leaves and bags which is what Milk Tea Lab uses. And their boba tastes fresh and has a great texture. Not only that but they are one of the only boba spots in the area that are open past 10pm, so I always recommend going here for a late night boba run for any occasion. You can come and go or you can stay and chill out with the nice chill environment. They have board games and open tables to play on as well as claw machines.
