Quarters Teahouse is known for being one of the better T/Boba shops in San Francisco. It's a small little shop, and it's definitely not Customer Service forward. When you walk in you place your order at one of two screens, you pay, and you wait for your order. Someone from the back eventually magically appears places your drinks and/or food items on the counter, and that's the most interaction you'll have with anyone that works there. If you have questions about many items, there's no one to ask. If you need to make a change to a new item, you can't. Whatever is listed on the screen is what you see is what you get. We ordered Matcha and it definitely was better than other Matcha tea that I've had but it also wasn't spectacular. What I ordered again? From here, yes. The Matcha flavor was smooth, which is not always something that other tea houses managed to do We ordered the egg puffs: one in double chocolate, and the other one in Oreo. The Oreo is definitely a hard pass. The filling was pretty nonexistent, and what was there virtually did not taste like anything let alone Oreo. The double chocolate was a surprise hit. They definitely needed more filling, but they were better than the Oreo. Since these are handmade, it's totally controllable and it just tasted like little to no effort was put into them. The chocolate had the perfect amount of sweetness, and it went oddly well with the Matcha. There are a couple of barstools next to an extremely narrow little table that hadn't been cleaned. Their traditional tea drinks (Jasmine, Oolong, etc) are all safe orders, and all possess a strong tea flavor, similar the likes of Molly tea but not as floral, compared to most boba shops in the city. I've been here a couple times, and ordered their Jasmine and Oolong teas respectively. They were both excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed every sip. 75% sweetness is the way to go for those who order less sugar, but it can be lowered to 50% if you're more of a tea person. They also respect your ice level, which is always a plus. The boba pearls are bouncy, chewy, and flavorful, and I have yet to nom on one bad one. The quality is consistent, unlike some boba chains in the city. It seems other Yelpers have had mixed reviews with their other drinks, but judging by the name, you come here for milk teas. There are so many Boba places all around San Francisco and some are better than others. I always like trying different Boba spots throughout the city. There is a place I haven't tried and I was excited to give it whirl. On a Holiday stroll at Sunset Strip of San Francisco on Taraval street I ran into a Boba place I haven't tried and it's called Quarters Teahouse. I walked in and it's a small space with a kiosk to order. I tapped in and picked the Guava and Lychee Green tea. The drink was delicious and on a sunny day it was refreshing with the cold ice. I also had to try the mango green tea and it was tasty and not too sweet. They sell finger foods and sparkling ice drinks. It's a must try on a sunny day in San Francisco even in December. Kiddo wanted boba and we like checking out places we haven't tried yet. So, first time at Quarters Teahouse. Order at the kiosk - lots of items to choose from. During our visit, looked like only one person working so she was busy. Order arrived in about 10 minutes or so. Kiddo ordered the Matcha Einspanner and I went with the Hokkaido Milk Tea. The einspanner had a strong matcha flavor. This one was probably the one we liked more out of both drinks. I think I like my teas to have stronger flavor and the Hokkaido milk tea was light and more floral. It was ok. Kiddo also wanted to try the egg puffs. Order the special - 2 for $8 (otherwise $4.50 each). Ordered one mochi and one white/black sesame. They were not too sweet. Would've liked more mochi and for it to be a bit crispier on outside, too. It's a decent boba place in the, I think, Chinatown area, of SF. Great to stop by to grab a boba where you can find free street parking and it's not a chain that I can get in SoCal. It's a really small cafe, but there's limited seating. We just grabbed our drinks after ordering from the kiosk. Service was efficient even with 2 staff and people consistently coming in during the lunch hour. We got the: 1) Egg Puff Skewers: -There is a deal for 2 for $8. We got the spicy cheese egg puff and the Oreo egg puff. 2) Ovaltine Milk tea: -House black milk tea mixed with Ovaltine. 3) Supreme Peach Oolong Milk tea: -Made with oolong tea and dry peach, mixed with diced peaches and with an added dry fig and whipped cream on top. There's a lot of unique drinks and food that they have on their menu, such as pink guava tea, a Jolly Pong crush (made with Korean honey wheat cereal), wheel cake (so hard to find that nowadays), oden, and onigiri. Very impressive considering how small the space is and where it is in town, and how expansive their menu is. If I'm ever passing by again, I don't mind trying out more of their menu. read more

This is a small Boba shop with some snacks, so wanting to give a new Boba shop a try, we decided to go to this place. Big mistake. We ordered the Black and White Sesame Egg Puff Skewer, Mochi Egg Puff Skewer, Matcha Creme Brulee Latte, and a Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with Grass Jelly. The Mochi Egg Puff Skewer was tough, dense, and not fluffy or light like other Egg Puffs I have tried. It also had little to no flavoring. The Black and White Sesame Egg Puff Skewer at least had a little more flavor than the other Egg Puff Skewer, but not by a lot, and was very dense like the other. The Matcha Creme Brulee Latte was a big disappointment too. It didn't have a Matcha flavor. It was basically green colored Milk. However, the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with Grass Jelly was the best thing we got. It actually had the flavor that it says it was and tasted good unlike the other things we got. We walked by this spot and decided to try it out because the shop looked cute. We ordered a brown sugar boba, a jasmine milk green tea, and one of their fruit teas. Considering how much-cooked batter there was, I think 2 more pieces would've been nice and a good ratio. SERVICE: 9/10 A nice lady who was running the store on her own was very helpful, patient, and attentive. There are two kiosks to order from, however, if there are any special requests you have, she is willing to help you, and you don't need to put it on the kiosk. I usually get 50% sweetness and less ice so I am able to enjoy the fresh tea. The double peach fruit tea is probably my favorite drink. I love the fresh peach pulp/bits at the bottom. They are so juicy and crisp. The tea flavor is also a great base for tea. The ladies that work here are so kind and helpful. Space is tight, so definitely more a grab and go boba place. With that said, I enjoyed what we got and had a very positive experience. In fact, I feel like this is definitely an underrated boba place in the area! Dalgona coffee was made well and the honeycomb candy (that we requested on the side) was a nice complement to it. About halfway through our drink, the lady who prepared it popped out from the back and asked if our drinks were okay and if we wanted to add any milk to ours. I found another go-to boba spot to add to my list. I just wish they had longer hours. We tried the Mango Pineapple Green Tea, Longan Lime Green Tea, and Raspberry Lychee Sparkling. The flavor combinations were interesting and delicious. The boba was soft but not mushy. The Longan Lime Green Tea had plenty of blended fruit bits and pulp that added extra flavor to every sip and went down smoothly. We also tried the Fried Cheese Sticks and Matcha Waffle (with mochi added). The Fried Cheese Sticks had a nice cheese pull but were a bit dense. We didn't try the Matcha Waffle right away, so I can't comment on the texture, but the matcha flavor was good and the mochi was nice and chewy and spread thoroughly throughout the waffle. There was one self-order kiosk. No one was at the front counter, except for when an employee came out of the kitchen briefly to tear off an order slip from an ever-growing chain of orders. No one was in front of us when we ordered at 6 PM on a Friday, but we waited 20 mins for all of our items. They seem to have online ordering, so that may be the way to go. There were also some items on the posted menu that weren't on the order kiosk and vice versa. This is more of a takeout place, as there's only one small counter with a few stools. I've never seen anything like it before. You order from a kiosk in the front of the store. We got the 2 for $7 with one custard and the other salted egg soy floss. The custard was really good but the other one barely had any filling. Thats the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. But they were both still really good! Delicious! I avoid caffeine so I can't speak about the quality of the milk tea but I had a delicious iced brown sugar milk type drink with boba... and honey comb on top. One lady was running the whole place and she was nice. The passionfruit green tea I ordered was delicious and even had real passion fruit in the drink. I waiting on Taraval for my dumplings to be ready and saw this new spot next door so I decided to give it a try. Staff greeted as soon as we walked in. They have a kiosk for ordering or you can order at the counter. Their menu is cutely designed and had many choice. What really stood out to me was their egg puffs. It's on a stick with different flavors available. I got the salted egg soy floss and jasmine milk tea while my partner got egg custard and oolong milk tea. The egg puffs were pretty good! I loved the egg custard one because the taste reminded me of a dan tat. Wished I tasted more salted egg for the other I got. The milk teas were good as well.
