On 10-11 a tractor trailer tire came flying off a truck on the LIE and hit into my driver side door. Mill Pond Auto Body fixed my car for a reasonable price and within 3 days! Do not use this body shop. Joe is as shady as they come. He pushed us to put a light hit through insurance and then quadrupled the amount of damage by ripping the car apart aka "damage enhancement". Once that was done, he forged a payment instruction letter so the insurance company would send him all of the money directly. Joe told us the original damage was going to be about $3K. By the time he got done ripping my bumper off and breaking a headlight that wasn't broken, the damage became $12K. That, John D, is what I'm talking about. read more

I have bringing my cars here for years. With 5 cars and 2 kids driving, the cars have had their share of bumps and bruises. Mill Pond always delivers and does an immaculate job fixing and healing. On a larger scale 5 years ago my son got into a bad accident driving into a telephone pole. He was OK but the Infinity FX had around 25K worth of damage. After Mill Pond got finished with it, the car was like new. Paint always matches perfectly. You can never tell body work was done. MY Mercedes was brought with a light deer hit. Told approx $3,000.00 if paid out of pocket. Was run through State Farm & total became $11,000.00. Had pictures we took after hit which showed very little damage. When State Farm Adjuster got to the shop the whole front end was off the car, ripped off. Term is "Damage enhancement". Owner of the shop then signed my name to a "Directions of funds" form so the check would go directly to him. Says "Everybody does it" The insurance company calls it FRAUD. I first want to say that I feel terrible that this review is so late as my accident occurred in April of 2013. So, my boyfriend & I were moving in together & he scraped my car with the moving van...things happen people, that's why they call it an accident & yes, we're still together). So I got an estimate at a place in Freeport for low price but car wouldn't be ready for about 3 weeks. I submitted that quote to insurance company, like a moron since it was just an estimate, but when I found out how long it would take, I took it to Mill Pond b/c a relative working for AAA recommended them. They did the repairs at the original quote even though that quote was low balling it, had it done in record time, dealt with the insurance company for me so I wouldn't be bothered AND cleaned the car too!!! Always hard to find a good mechanic that u can trust but let me tell you that my car looked better than the day I bought it. In addition, the customer service was something to be desired.
