Honestly deserves all 5 stars and more. Recently dropped my car off for repairs and was REALLY impressed and happy with the service I received. Everything was clearly explained to me, I was updated throughout the process, and everyone was very professional. I was pleasantly surprised that they they helped coordinate getting a rental car for me while my car was being repaired. There were some wear and tears that I didn't plan on getting repaired but they offered such a great deal that it was worth doing fixes with them. I went to the Bellmore location and I am so grateful to everyone from Mike, to Joe, to everyone in between for taking care of my car. North Star Auto Body Bellmore Excellent, honest, trustworthy, reliable, extraordinary customer service, there aren't enough superlatives to describe my experience with North Star. From start to finish Joe ( North Star) went above and beyond. Hundreds of 5 Star reviews for their repair work, I give them 100 stars for customer service. At 7:15 in the morning, driving full speed somebody drove into my parked car. I didn't know where to start. A neighbor called Joe at North Star. Within 3 hours , North Star towed my car. Joe called me, he had called the insurance company, made an appointment with the adjuster, gotten authorization for a rental and actually drove me to Enterprise Rental. Days passed and I hadn't heard from the insurance company. I called North star, they were closed for the day. The recording said if I press "one" I will get through to somebody. I did and spoke to Vinny, he assured me he would take care of everything the next morning. Turns out my car was " totaled" and North Star wasn't going to make a cent on repairs. Did that stop the service he gave me? NO!! Joe called me and told me he would take anything I had left in the car out of the car, take off the license plates, and bring everything to my house at a time convenient to me. WOW. I can't possibly say enough about the team here at North Star. I was referred to them by a family friend who insisted they would take care not just of the issues that my car was having (some bodywork from a previous accident and a trunk leakage issue), but of me as a customer as well. That was a total understatement...because they went ABOVE & BEYOND. From the moment I dropped my car off (I went to the Baldwin location), every single person inside was attentive, friendly, and conscientious, and offered to get me anything from their nespresso/coffee/drink bar while I waited for Mike, whom I had been referred to see upon arrival. I just moved back east from California and the hospitality everyone showed from day one at North Star really reminded me why I'm so glad to be back- because they really do treat you like family. Mike told me how it's been a family business for years and you can instantly tell this is someone who takes pride in his business, and in continuing on the family tradition of high quality work (lifetime guarantee...awesome) and amazing customer service. I'm sure there are a lot of qualified body/repair shops out there, but it's a different feeling to know your car is in such good hands with genuine people who actually care about what they do beyond just a bottom line. As far as professionalism goes, they were fantastic- Mike or someone at the shop was in constant communication each step of the way to let me know where we were at from a timeline standpoint (when parts came in, when the damage appraisal was finished, etc). I didn't have much interaction with the mechanics, but I can say everyone behind the desk was the epitome of customer service exemplified. They acted as a liaison between me and the insurance company, making the necessary calls and advocating on my behalf to reopen this old claim from out of state and even went so far as to coordinate the entire rental setup through Enterprise. Made it super simple so that I was picked up at my house when getting the rental, and just had to drop it right off at North Star to return it when my car was ready so I didn't have to go multiple places. Timeline was spot on, car was beautiful and polished upon return, and to say they do everything in their power to limit the customer out-of-pocket cost would again be an understatement. GO WITH THESE GUYS. TL;DR- North Star killed it. 11/10. Treated me like family, kept me in the loop throughout, handled insurance and rental hassle-free, and made my car look/run amazing with the lowest out-of-pocket I could have ever imagined. Came in to get my Jeep fixed because the rear of the car was banged up from my son borrowing my car. Dominick took my car and got me a ride to work and then when the car was finished they had someone pick me back up at the job. I have never had such amazing customer service as this place! FRAUD!!! I brought my Jeep Wrangler to the Bellmore location after one of their employees approached me at the site of my car accident. The estimate called for over $7,000 in replacement parts. They replaced NOTHING!!! Actually tried to color in a chip in the hardtop instead of replacing it and spray painted my muffler!! I've already reported to NYS attorney general, NYS DFS, GEICO and BBB.
