What a perfect getaway in beautiful Half Moon Bay. The property is a bit dated but it makes up for it with its charm. The owners, Eve and Terry, were very kind and welcoming. We stayed in the Bordeaux Rose Suite, this included a beautiful sitting room with a chimney, a romantic bath tub and a huge tv inside the bedroom. Terry was very accommodating, he brought us everything we needed after he gave us a tour of the property, told us all about our dinning options and even when out of his to make sure we had a great experience when the restaurant wouldn't comply with him. One of the highlights of our stay was Eve's Special. Her breakfast was amazing and they even serve it in room inside the sitting area. What a great experience, we will definitely be back! Dirty carpet, disintegrated drapes, shower liner in tub too long and not sanitary, fridg had fingerprints smeared around door openings, no listing of instructions for heater/fireplace/tv's, etc whatsoeve. My cousins home is 1/2 mile away, which is why I was visiting, I actually informed her to not recommend this Inn if she plans to have guests visit her town. read more

Stayed for Pumpkin Festival Weekend. When we originally booked our room, we received a really nice packet of info by mail, confirming our rezzie & providing a brochure of the grounds, some suggestions for things to do in the area & a map of Half Moon Bay. This was a super-nice touch! Loved the fact they provided a champagne breakfast in our room - made it seem so much more decadent Also provided free water, sodas & wine in our mini-fridge & port & sherry on the dresser.......cakes & cookies out in the main dining area; little candies on the bedside table - touch after fantastic touch, it all added up! Some close friends recommended This Bed and Breakfast so we went for it. It did NOT disappoint. It's a cute, cozy, traditional feel. It reminded me of Gilmore Girls in Stars Hollow (which I love). Rose petals on the bed, Sparkling Bottle awaited us as we walked in! And in the morning? A DELICIOUS BREAKFAST that was far better than some 5-star ones I've tasted prior. We stayed here over the weekend in celebration of my birthday. It is still covid so there were some restrictions and changes. First off the grounds are beautiful and full of amazing flowers. At night the outside is lit up with lights and is so charming. We were greeted by Terry and he gave us a tour of our room and the grounds. We saw his wife who was baking banana bread and the whole place smelled amazing. She was extra sweet and lovely and so kind. I'm really into antiques and they have some beautiful pieces in the house. We used the hot tub which is private and it was so nice and relaxing. Each morning due to the restrictions our breakfast was served in our room. It was the most delicious breakfast and we enjoyed it so much! We had white wine in our fridge each day. We didn't get the wine and cheese reception due to covid but Terry offered to bring us beer, soda as well to our room. The inn is walking distance to many restaurants and is in the heart of downtown. We also walked to the beach and took a long walk to Miramar. Overall, we loved our stay and we will be back. We stayed in the smallest room this trip and really loved it. The decor and idea is great, but when you pay $1000 for 2 days and expectations are not met it's a little disappointing. I booked a 2 night-stay for the anniversary thinking we will have a beautiful romantic getaway with breakfast on site and chill in hot tub. Some people posted chocolate covered strawberries and champagne, I'm not sure what room has that service, but we got "Luxury Room" and it didn't have that. We arrived at 6:30 pm, had dinner reservation for 7 pm at a local restaurant. There was no one at the front desk, the place was empty, and another couple that just arrived before us also kept trying to get ahold of someone. The note on the desk said "call us", so we did. First it went to the voicemail, then someone picked up and said they'll be right there. We ended up waiting 15-20 min until someone arrived to meet us and give the keys. The lady was nice and polite. When I asked about jacuzzi, she said it wasn't working . Breakfast wasn't available on site either, they give a coupon instead to eat in a coffee shop. We went there, and breakfast wasn't good at all. Looks like that place is more of a bakery than a full breakfast spot. It's a completely different experience when you expect to have breakfast at a beautiful romantic ambiance in a nice hotel vs you eat in a crowded mall. They said the breakfast wasn't available in their hotel due to covid? But it was available in the coffee shop, even though it's still covid? Confusing. If it's not safe for a chef to cook in one business, how come it's safe for a chef to cook at another place? No worries, but please be straightforward about this and don't advertise as B&B as it's not the case at the moment. We ended up throwing away omelets we ordered and eating at another local spot across the street - which was incredible. The design of the hotel is cute, but due to lack of promised amenities as well as customer service, it doesn't worth $1000. read more

If ever I have given a 5 star review to another business I must now recant as I have learned the true meaning of a 5 star, no, a 10 star experience! Opulence! Ladies and gentlemen tis true opulence I have found in the town of Half Moon Bay. From gardens overflowing with bright flowers, to the meticulously designed living areas and dining halls, to the cozy, plush bedroom which had some of the softest sheets I've ever felt. Our room included complimentary wine, beer, soft drinks, brandy, sherry, and candy. The breakfast that was delivered to our room each morning was well balanced, well-thought through and, most importantly, delicious. The owners are very kind and they work hard to make sure everything is just right. The hot tub area is beautiful and you can sign up to have it all to yourself for an hour. They have a vast dvd collection and nice little library in the common areas. There were so many little details that made this stay wonderful! This was one of the most luxurious and relaxing vacations I've ever had and we can't wait to come back! read more

My best friend and I came here for a staycation to relax from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco, and this was a nice reprieve! I'm accustomed to modern, large, chain-style hotels that I stay in for work, so I was surprised that I enjoyed the quaint, Victorian style of the inn. I certainly felt like I was transported away from the Bay. Service is pretty good; upon arrival, we were given a tour of our room, the building, etc. We were able to call and order a cheese plate to our room at any time, and had our room stocked daily with fruits, sparkling water, and wine. The breakfast is quite good as well, with several courses of fruit, pastries, etc. depending on the day. I wish we had been able to enjoy the lovely garden or the jacuzzi outside, but the area had really poor air quality during our stay. However, we loved being able to relax in the dining room in front of the fireplace with books, tea, coffee, and a dessert bar of chocolate chip cookies, chocolate pudding cake, and pistachio cake. At night, we were able to peruse a painstakingly organized DVD collection of over 700 movies (pretty sure they're all bootlegged, but, oh well) which we binge watched over the course of our two night stay. The period decor and ambiance is definitely not for everyone. While my friend relished the details, from the flowered wallpaper down to the dishes of Werther's caramels, I did not find it as relaxing. Our room was right by Terry's home office, so I felt like I was intruding every time I had to walk through to the living room. I also felt weird calling and asking for things to be brought to us, but really, that's more of a personal preference. If you're a B&B fan, you will most likely enjoy this! read more

We were married at the Mill Rose Inn on 1-9-16 with our closest family and friends in attendance, in front of a flickering fire in the Dining Room. This is a gorgeous wedding venue. Every room is adorned with orchids and beautiful wallpapers, and antiques. There is a faint scent of cinnamon and cloves and a sense of quiet and coziness that just instantly relaxes me every time I walk in. The front and back gardens and gazebos are beautiful, and either garden would also be a lovely wedding site. Eve, who is 500% Fairy Godmother, worked tirelessly to ensure that every inch of the inn, inside and out, had special touches on our wedding day. I was incredibly impressed by her attention to detail, creativity, and passion for creating the perfect wedding aesthetically, but also for helping me to create a meaningful day that expressed who we are as a couple and as a blended family with five children. This was an absolutely beautiful surprise for me and I must say that we had an extraordinary stay at the mill rose inn. Most of the reviewers seem as over the moon with the service and decadence of the place as I was! It really is no exaggeration to say this is by far one of the best places to stay and enjoy as a couple. The service was by far the best I've received at any similar place. Staff is extremely kind and the owners are personable. In fact, we ended up speaking to one of them for a long time out under the lit up trees and she was absolutely kind and charming and so open. When you first arrive you really cannot ignore the overwhelming beautiful smell of hundreds of roses that are in and around the property. I wish I could wake up to that smell every morning. We had excellent room service and I absolutely loved how romantic and seriously well thought out so much of this inn is. There is a hot tub for reservation which we used, homemade goodies, DVDs for rent (but really, we didn't need them and there is also a billion channels on the flat screen), restaurant recommendations and more. Half moon bay is beautiful and there is so much to enjoy but you might find yourself enjoying the atmosphere of this place so much you'll want to lay by the fire and just soak everything in :) read more

This is one of the many places we looked at for a wedding venue. It was by far, the worst experience we had. The woman that runs this place is,well....How should i put this???? Umm, a little nuts. She refused to give me very much info over the phone. I found this annoying, and she was the only person i encountered (during our venue hunt) that acted this way. Since we were going out that way to look at another venue, my fiance agreed we might as well stop in. When we pulled up, my guys words were. " Is this it? It's kind of dumpy." Not a good first impression. Hang in there, it gets worse. When we walked in, I immediately hated the decor. It's Victorian in a stuffy, cramped way, but I was still hanging in for the tour. I must admit, the gardens were beautiful. The flowers were kept up well, and at the time of our visit, at their heartiest. The woman we met with tried to make it clear she was running the show. When i asked her questions (or more accurately, TRIED to ask her direct questions) she seemed pissed to be thrown off her spiel. She had a clear plan, and didn't want to go astray of that. Ok, whatever. When i tried to pinpoint her on price, she kept saying, "But, wait, I want you to fall on love with it. It's not about money." Well, hold on to your girdle there, lady. We have a budget, and do not intend to go drastically over. (Especially for a freak show like this.) I'm not the kind of bride to go ga-ga over a venue. Certainly not one that I don't even know is in my price range. What's the point in falling in love with a place that I can't afford. I also feel it wastes my time, and the time of person showing the venue. This is why we only looked at places we could afford. She seemed truly ticked that i wasn't oohing and aahing over her inn. Even if i had loved it, we aren't the kind of couple to go nuts like that. Definitely not while she was standing there. It's like shopping for a car. You don't let the them know if you're that into it. We wait to discuss privately. That's how we are, and aren't going to change for this lady. She went on to say, "I think you're too concerned with the money aspect." Well, excuse me, but there are other things we want to do in our lives, and aren't going to break ourselves over our wedding. The walk through took much longer than needed. As my guy said, "I was letting her go on and on, I wanted to see where the craziness was headed." She wants to rent out the whole inn. We aren't paying for the anyones stay but our own. Her prices were higher than Testarossa Vineyards. (Which is a pretty high-end,classy place to get married.) She still insisted on sitting us down, and "trying to make it work for us." We took that to mean that she'd lower some fees. (especially since we didn't want to rent the whole inn.) We were wrong. Her approach to "making it work for us" was to say "Maybe my vendors will drop this a smidge." She also refused to disclose any of her selected vendors. She spent 15 minutes telling us we should have a videographer. We both clearly stated we didn't want a videographer. That had been an immediate, and early decision for us. We have reasons why we don't want one, and they have nothing to do with money. She tried to tell us we didn't want one for financial reasons. She also intimated that this was really my choice, and not my guy's. Believe it or not, he actually has opinions about the wedding. Shocking, i know. While she was talking, she'd give my guy these weird glances. He actually noticed it more than I did. It was like, she felt i was saying things he didn't agree with, and she felt for him.Give me a break. Bad move lady,bad move. I really wanted to say."Listen here woman, I know my guy, you don't. I'm able to pick up on what he's thinking.Back off." I don't ever speak for both of us unless I'm sure we're on the same page. This pissed us both off. This woman was over-bearing, pushy, and smarmy in a used car salesman kind of way. Don't waste your time coming up here. She aggravated and annoyed us beyond belief. Of the 15 venues we looked at, she was the only bad experience. Honestly, if this had been the first venue we looked at, i would have been very turned off from looking at more. I bought plane tickets and rented a car, only to wake up with a voice-mail the next morning from the owners telling me that I NO LONGER HAD A RESERVATION and they made a mistake by booking me. I got promoted recently. Like many of you I'm bringing home less than when I started 4 years ago. However, I'm working harder and longer than ever in my brief career as a state hack. Brothas be stressed! Fortunately, I have a spouse who cares about that sort of thing. She hooked me up with an overnight stay at the Mill Rose, a seasoned B&B a couple blocks off Main Street. Before we checked in, we browsed a couple of the shops. When we told the salespeople where we were staying, the reaction we got was congratulations. Hmm. We were greeted at the door by Terry and David: Man and Poodle. Terry gave us the tour, with a concise, sputter-free spiel honed by decades of practice. I didn't catch everything, but I got the impression that interruptions for dumb questions would be frowned upon. Many do's.... and many don'ts. The Briar Rose room was perfectly wallpapered and bordered with no discernible logic. It was Victorian on Steroids. The bed was super comfy, but it was a queen. This place is designed for romance, I suppose. A previous review mentions all sugar and booze, all the time. That part is true. Full carafes of brandy and sherry were at the little table in the room; white wine, sodas and water in the fridge in the bathroom. Even more booze down in the dining room, along with cookies and cake galore. 2 gala apples sitting there in a basket next to the bed. Upon request, a plate of fruit, cheese & crackers are delivered to your room, or wherever else you want it. His and hers bathrobes and flip-flops were ready for the late night chill in the hot tub. An upright piano is in the dining room, just in case you got what it takes to serenade your woman. (I do.) The DVD library was extensive. We asked for a tip on a good restaurant; I was interested in seafood. Something tells me that regardless of what I said I wanted, I would have been directed to Pasta Moon (stay tuned for that review). We ate breakfast the following morning in the dining room. Fresh fruit, coffee, orange/banana frappe, a fresh croissant, bacon and an egg/cheese/fruit dish that was very tasty. Checkout's at 11. The decor is not necessarily our taste, but the garden was absolutely amazing. How does Eve keep up with that place? Anyway . . . a great experience, our first B&B, with very hospitable hosts. We loved our little trip to the Mill Rose Inn! It's such a beautiful property. We loved the charm of it all. We loved hearing a little about the history of the property and how it's changed over the years. Terry was wonderful and a great host! Breakfast was excellent and we loved being able to sit in our room to enjoy it. This place was amazing. We arrived at 3:00 and Terry opened the door and walked us through the 'tour'. He goes over all the things other people have already written in the review, but is very precise and explains everything, right down to offering wine and cheese in your room, and making dinner reservations for you. Our room was fabulous. I'm not normally a wallpaper fan, but we inquired about all the design, decor and paintings and learned that the wallpaper was hung by a guy that just flies all over the country hanging wallpaper. It was really something to see. The fireplace in the room is very romantic, the claw foot tub, and the wine, beer, beverages in the fridge add a very nice touch. We also had a personal card from the owners in our room upon our arrival. Terry made our dinner reservations and suggested great places for a late lunch. Both were fabulous. Our bed was SUPER comfortable, and everything was very clean. Just as a side note, when we left, one of the doors was open to another room and the maid was on the floor scrubbing the tile with a small brush. I was pretty impressed to see that. We asked if we wanted breakfast at 8 or 9, and in our room or downstairs. We chose downstairs and when we woke the next morning and went down fresh fruit was brought to us along with Mexican hot chocolate (with cinnamon) and banana orange juice. It was very good, all fresh not frozen. Breakfast had 4 pieces of bacon, a cheese/egg quiche sort of thing that was good and a fresh croissant with butter and jam. The flowers were beautiful, and the Inn itself left no detail untouched. Every corner of every room had been well thought out and planned. Terry explained all the details of the original home to us and upon us asking, explained about how they acquired the art and antiques. We really enjoyed every moment. You will not be disappointed to stay here. It was really above and beyond what I expected. read more

My hubby and I stayed in the Renaissance Suite. It was huge! The European antiques were stunning to say the least. We cuddled in bed and watched movies, in front of the fireplace, while enjoying our cheese and fruit platter. They have hundreds of movies to watch. The bed was pure heaven and the bedding was so plush and luxurious. The amenities and nosh they have are plentiful, from the cookies and cake, to the breakfast and adult beverages.... all of which are included. We loved the private jacuzzi and the rose garden. We took full advantage of the beauty that surrounds the Inn. We can't wait to stay there again... soon! read more

My husband, Jeremy, is a small business owner, who so deserved a special time for his birthday. We are only 30 minutes from HMB, but we both have never been to main st. We usually go to the beach. Right? So this was a great new adventure. He is a true dude, so I was a wee bit apprehensive taking him to this very frilly B & B. We arrived and there was plenty of parking. There was a phone which was outside the front door. The Inn Keeper Terry arrived. He graciously showed us everything we would need, even to work the TV. We were in the Briar Rose room and my husband let out his seal of approval. A huge fireplace, a claw foot tub and sherry and brandy decanter. The fridge was stocked, with wine, Heineken and soda. / water. The window opened wide to a farm view. We went downstairs and sampled cookies and delicious pound cake. We explored the area and found the old Benito house saloon. The bar tender was awesome. He even made me a monitor with fresh mint. We explored the area and bought truffled mustard from the small market. The Inn called us back for a soak in the gazebo enclosed hot tub. OMG so romantic, sitting with the fairy lights. After we went to our room to retire with the fireplace. The only neg was the next door occupant was easily heard through our wall. It was a mixture apnea and spring that was driving me crazy so we put on the fan and solved the problem. We will def be back, even with my husband's crazy schedule, for longer. The garden and all the little details, like salt water taffy in room and water by the hot tub made this a birthday that we equally enjoyed!!! read more

I can't say enough good things about Mill Rose Inn! My boyfriend and I took a trip to Half Moon Bay for our 2 year anniversary, but on the day of our reservation, he wasn't feeling well. I called the Inn to see what our options were, and Terry was able to reschedule our room for a few weeks later, no problem! It was incredibly kind and gracious despite our very late notice. When we did arrive, the Inn was like stepping into a gorgeously decorated Victorian Home! The grounds are beautiful, with rose gardens and patios all around. They also have a completely private hot tub you can reserve by the hour! We stayed in the Baroque Rose Room which was beautiful. They had wonderful touches - fully stocked fridge of beer and wine, hairdryer, wonderful towels and soft sheets. The TV is small, but their DVD collection is IMPRESSIVE! Although, we spent much of our time walking around the town. Terry was very helpful and offered us recommendations for restaurants, shops, activities, and trails all around Half Moon Bay. My boyfriend and I ended taking an amazing hike along the coast that we would not have found otherwise! If you are looking for a cozy, quiet getaway, Mill Rose is your place! read more

My wife and I just had a fantastic even ing at the Mill Rose Inn. Perfect spot for a weekend getaway from the city. We stayed in the Baroque Room downstairs. We really felt spoiled with all kinds of treats, and the owners were genuinely helpful and courteous. They really make an effort with the gardens and decor, and the breakfast was delicious and decadent. It's nice to have a retreat so close to the city. It's like a fairy tale, splendid and peaceful, built in a sea of flowers and light. The hearty breakfast is beautifully made, including orange/banana smoothie, warm cereal with berries and yogurt, mushroom quiche with herbs, banana bread with delicious dips. Coffee, tea, homemade cookies and desserts are served in the afternoon through evening. A little cute jacuzzi is like a paradise. The fireplace, old-fashioned furniture, and the bed - the softest sheets ever! There is fruits, candies, complimentary champagne, and a hand-written card from the hosts, who have three very well-behaved poodles. I had such a nice night sleep and lovely stay. I want to begin by saying I have mixed feelings about this establishment, which makes writing this review difficult. My girlfriend and I stayed at the Mill Rose Inn this previous weekend. It was a surprise belated overnight getaway; my girlfriend choose this place not me. When we arrived my first thought was, you have to be blind not to notice all the flowers, which isn't necessary a bad thing unless you aren't a flower type of person like I am. I will say that while I did see the beauty in them, I didn't appreciate them as much as my girlfriend did. The room was okay in that sort of old Victorian style type of way. Oh did I forget to mention that there was wallpaper covering the walls and ceilings...and you guessed it, the wall paper was rose pattern of course. I spent the first fifteen minutes starring at it all and wondering why none of it matched. Terry brought up a platter of cheese, crackers, strawberries and apple slices that had turned brown by the time they arrived in our room. The fireplace was a nice touch, despite the rose tiles that surrounded it, but it was way too hot for us to consider turning it on. despite the rose colored tiles. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were heavenly, and to my surprise they didn't have roses on them. The bright spot of staying here was the private jucuzzi. There are lots of large potted plants in the space, but I am happy to report not one rose bush. The next morning I was excited to take a bath in the old fashion deep tub, but my excitement was short lived when I discovered that the water didn't stay hot enough to fill up the entire tub or that there wasn't any bubble bath...bummer! I opted out for having breakfast there since it was a combination of banana nut bread, which my girlfriend is allergic to, and fruit. Instead we walked a few blocks and had a "real" breakfast...eggs, French toast, waffles and sausage. Yummy!!! I didn't interact with Terry and we never saw his wife. All in all my stay wasn't bad, it just was not a place I would of choose to stay if I had of been part of the decision making process. If you like flowers, especially roses, or you need a place to have a wedding then you would probably love this place. However, if you have bad allergies I would definitely recommend you find somewhere else to stay in Half Moon Bay. read more

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here and a very smooth experience booking our stay. We did find the Mill Rose Inn by getting a deal on Trubates -- we bought the deal back at the beginning of January, and it expired in June. However, Terry, one of the innkeepers, was so accommodating and understanding about my insane school schedule and work schedule, that he let us use our Trubates deal in August. He was very easy to talk to and extremely helpful with this process. He did request that we stay on weekdays and not on holidays, which was understandable, since our Trubates deal was expired. We really appreciated all Terry's efforts on this issue. Fast forward to our stay -- we arrive when it's already getting dark and the inn looked like Christmas in August because of all the beautiful lights, pomanders hanging from the trees, the dark pink hydrangeas dripping from all crevices of the courtyard with their big green leaves. Terry gave us the grand tour and instructions about how to use everything and where everything is in the inn's main dining room, the grounds, the private jacuzzi in the gazebo, and in our room. We also met David and Bella, two cutie pie poodles. We stayed in the Briar Rose room, and it was gorgeous -- so romantic. I loved it. My husband is eternally grateful that there was a TV. Unfortunately, we never had a chance to watch a movie using the DVD player and utilizing one of the HUNDREDS (seems like) of movies downstairs. However, we did make use of all the delicious cookies and cake offered until 12:00 midnight. Yum. Amenities offered: - Decanters of brandy/sherry/white wine - Fruit/cheese plates - Cookies/cake - Private jacuzzi (book the times you want, and you get it all to yourself) - Hundreds of movies/DVD player - Picnic baskets (you just grab some food downtown and off you go) - Delicious breakfast The two breakfasts we had included (in no particular order): fruit salad, artichoke/bell pepper fritatta, croissant, bacon, orange banana frappe, hot chocolate, hot tea (just what we picked as our hot beverages), cheese delight (like a thick blintz with creme fraiche and berry jam), and fruit/granola delight (not sure what it was, but it was delicious). I love that each room has a private bathroom. I hate communal bathrooms and forced communal eating, so this was lovely. A wonderful getaway. Terry was also full of great suggestions of walking routes, restaurants, and things to do. We loved our stay here. Thank you! read more

Mill Rose Inn is a magical place. The inn & garden are reminiscent of an idyllic fairytale. Every detail was crafted so thoughtfully- from the fireplaces in the rooms and the robes for the spa to the delicious breakfasts and INCREDIBLE pistachio pudding cakes. Cheese & fruit platters and wine are included with your stay. Brandy & Sherry, wine & beer are also provided complementary! The morning paper comes with breakfast which is really such a special touch. Mill Rose Inn is a must stay when in Half Moon Bay. Terry is the kindest and most thoughtful innkeeper, who remembers your coffee and tea preferences so you never have to tell him twice. We got a deal from Trubates to stay here 2 nights. The reservation process was a little difficult to say the least. The lady of the house didn't want to help me once she heard I had the Trubates deal. First she wanted us to wait until their "busy season" was over. Even after I told her that I wanted to use it for our anniversary and I had checked the website before I called and all of the rooms were open for that weekend. Then she wanted us to use it on a week day. When I said I couldn't take it off work she said "Well everyone has vacation days" I was in shock. When I bought this voucher only holidays were blocked off, no other restrictions. After going back and forth with her about this for about 10 minutes she finally said she would have to have her husband call me back. After that everything was great but it kind of put us off even going there. The good notes - Our room was beautiful and the food was lovely. Loved the owners 2 poodles. The hot tub was great and very private. I would stay here again but try to book online this time. read more

My fiancé and I found this beautiful hotel by chance. We had just got engaged the week before and wanted to find a special place to celebrate. This Inn was everything we hoped for, and way more. From the warm welcome, to the delicious cookies and cakes, to the ornate rooms, free wine and certain liquor, and private jacuzzi, we couldn't have wished for a better place. The owner was so sweet and his wife designed such a stunning Inn. Plus, the breakfast in the morning was to die for. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! read more

We just stayed here for our anniversary. It was a very impromptu getaway and we're really happy we chose this place. We stayed in the Botticelli room and got the Romance package add-on, it was a great value, well worth it and added a nice touch to an otherwise already wonderful environment. I personally liked the decor of the whole building, from the garden to the dining room to our room, you can tell years of thought and attention to detail went into making this place what it is... the old classical style and fixtures..., baroque with a mix of other classical European influences if I had to guess. The gas operated fireplace in the room was one of my favorites and the breakfast menu was also a nice surprise: a warm pumpkin and ice cream appetizer, Frittata, banana bread, plenty of coffee, champagne and an orange juice/banana concoction - everything was made right there, very fresh and super delicious. Terry was a great host, very easy to talk to and accommodating. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, Half Moon Bay and Mill Rose Inn are an awesome choice! read more

We stayed at the Inn on Friday and Saturday for our friends wedding! One of the owners Andrea was there making sure everything was OK! Andrea went above and beyond to make sure everything was as perfect as it could be! The whole wedding party stayed at the Inn, we were always checked on to make sure everything was ok. We stayed there 1 night and it was amazing. We showed up way before check in time but they still let us check in and even gave us a detailed tour of our room and how everything worked. We had arrived before lunch had started so we asked for a recommendation. The gentleman recommended Pasta Moon and it was by far the best food we had while we were there. He made reservations for us and we went right in. Make sure to get them to book any restaurants as they get a perk for it. The bed was super soft and the room was quiet, it really was perfect. In the morning when we went down to breakfast the gentleman served us and even remembered my passing comment about food allergies. The food was very tasty and we left well satisfied. I like this place so much that I'm giving a night to as a gift for a wedding. read more
