They showed up immediately, despite being at night, with a flatbed big enough to haul our crippled truck--not to mention a loaded horse trailer as well-- and towed us the 85 miles to our home. I waited an hour and 45 minutes for the Tow (commute from Mill valley to San Rafael... a 15 minute distance). I was towed and the driver was going to charge me $420 to drive me to my home 30 minutes away but instead he stated that he "had other things to do" and left me at a shell gas station at 1:30 in the morning. When he towed me he made me leave my puppy in the car, a huge liability according to AAA. The driver also had no customer service skills and was very rude and unwelcoming. He charged me $125 to leave me at a gas station and did not even place me directly in front of the gas pump. Driver #6 Tow truck #5 I am very disappointed. We broke down right outside the Waldo tunnel before the golden gate bridge, geico wasn't able to find a single company which would pick us up from there so we looked for a place ourselves. I LOVE OSCAR!!!! I needed a belt replaced on my 2002 Ranger. I called Mill Valley Towing to see if they could fix it or tow it to a local repair shop. Since I am a single chick & new to the area with no one to help, this was a HUGE deal to me. I work in the city and the bus isn't really an option with my hours. Like a said, a HUGE deal. Oscar was professional, friendly & knowledgeable. He repaired my belt ON THE SPOT and saved me HUNDREDS of dollars! It cost $95 just to tow locally, plus whatever it would have cost for the mechanic at the shop, not to mention the time I would have spent w/o a car. My total repair cost? $113. And I never had to leave my apartment complex. I would recommend Mill Valley Towing to everyone! Oscar, you are a rock star! read more

Very bad service. I had to wait over two hours for them to get to me when i was just down the street on miller. When I tried to call and check in no one picked up the phone and there was no voice mail. I walked down to try and drop off my keys an no one was there. The truck that was came to pick me up an hour later was just sitting out front. read more

If I could give negative 5 stars -- I would. These guys kept us waiting for two hours in the cold -- twice they claimed they were on they way during follow up calls to see where they were. We were 6 miles from their shop (albeit on Highway 1 -- so a slow 6 miles). Then -- after two hours -- they informed us that their truck had been sent elsewhere and they could not provide an estimate as to how much longer it would be. Then the man on the phone had the audacity to get extremely nasty with me when I pressed for an estimate as to how much longer it would be -- and then he hung up on me. Needless to say -- we stopped waiting for them at that point. We had to try to make new arrangements at that point -- and since they had wasted our time and it was late in the afternoon -- the options became more limited. The bottom line is that my husband had to leave his vehicle unattended overnight until a friend could help him out today. My recommendation is to avoid this towing company at all costs if possible -- and if you have to use them -- then make sure you have a back up plan, or you will still be waiting too. P.S. There is clearly a great business opportunity for a professionally managed towing company to step into their shoes in the Mill Valley area. read more

This company could not be any ruder. I scheduled a tow the night before for 8am. That morning they said they couldn't make it until 10:30. At 11am I called and they said it would be about an hour. Still no show by 12:30 so I called back and they said they had an emergency but would have someone there at 1:30. At 2:30 I called again and they said they probably wouldn't be able to get to it, no apologies, no excuses. They wasted my entire day. read more

Do NOT hire these people. They are dishonest and lazy. My fiancé needed her tire changed, I'm in bed with Stage 4 cancer and can't help, she made the mistake of not reading Yelp reviews. They repeatedly said "we'll be there in a minute"...for an hour, then blocked her calls. Then she realized they were hanging her out and were NEVER coming. And it turned out they were two blocks away. She called a local tire shop (who will be written up here with 5 stars) and, they were terrific. Mill Valley Towing was absolutely irresponsible and worthless. Liars. And they'd quoted her $100 to change her tire, which makes them expensive, price-gouging opportunists who fortunately are too stupid to even take advantage. These people will leave you standing by the road waiting. Absolutely terrible. Note they are not an authorized AAA roadside assistance place, my guess is AAA has standards and these losers can't even meet their standards. Wow. Worst ever. Read other reviews, the ones not written by their employees (those would be anyone giving them 5 stars, it's an old Yelp trick, always believe reviews less than 5 stars when you find a few honest reviews like this.) Walter of Mill Valley Towing gave me excellent customer service when a radiator hose broke and my car overheated. He arrived soon after the call was put in from my insurance company and he diagnosed the problem. I happened to have a piece of old radiator hose in my car (left over from changing a hose on a previous leak - I know, I need to have all the hoses inspected/replaced, since my car now has over 266,000 miles!), so he cut it to size for me and replaced the leaking hose and I was on my way - no tow needed! I really appreciated his professionalism, patience and friendly demeanor. ;-) read more

Needed an empty U-Haul truck winched 2 feet to get the differential evened out and get traction. U-Haul's "Roadside Assistance" was 60 miles away (from Mill Valley?!?) and was going to be $600. Mill Valley Towing had a vehicle here in 10 minutes, and got the deed done in another 5. Great job! I hope I never have to call them again, but if I need a tow, I won't hesitate. read more
