I had been told by another shop that my transmission fluid was leaking. I had become uncomfortable with the shop, an itchy feeling. I stopped at Miller on the way home (April) and scheduled an oil change. Mr. Miller told me that there was fluid caked around the pan. He gave the car a physical and gave me papers showing what needed to be done now and what could wait and how long I could wait. I dropped the car off for the transmission leak and for a brake fluid flush. He called me and said he didn't do the transmission leak as it had not leaked a drop since April. He promised to keep an eye on it but felt it was good for now. It was scheduled as a $230 fix. read more

So my boyfriend has been servicing our car here since 2020, initially it was really convenient because the shop was down the street but this last time we were serviced (2023) we had a bad experience. For starters, we had to leave our car there over night because the technician broke the piece he was supposed to replace and had to go get another one. Fine no big deal, these things happen right ? Except for when the car was picked up, all of our change, which was coins and loose bills, was completely cleaned out. When he mentioned it, the technician handed him a $10 bill and told him that the local bums tend to get into the cars. Like ???? What ! What kind of service are they truly providing if they can't even keep the vehicles safe. Super unprofessional and not trustworthy. And to top it off, our car had a very unpleasant smell upon pick up, like as if someone was smoking inside the vehicle. That's just unacceptable. Overall our car was fixed and we even got a second look at it to make sure a used part hadn't been used and we were told they did a good job with that but still this was a horrid experience. Won't be returning and I would advise looking into other shops in better locations to avoid this kind of experience. read more

Then while they had my car they used all of my 600$ on labor and said that the price is $1800?? Thats 1000$ more than the initial estimate. Bad - very bad place to take your car. My daughter took her car there for a simple oil change and guess what? They sorta forgot to put oil BACK IN to her car. They refused to take responsibility until another mechanic looked at the car and knew exactly what occured. After weeks of the car sitting useless -and once they knew they were caught, In & Out did put in a new engine. Since they refused to pay a reputable shop to do the work, my daughter was forced to use In & Out to finally repair the car. The only good thing I can say about this experience was that they didn't charge her for the final repair - once they admitted they ruined the engine in the first place. This was an awful experience. Went in for a oil leak repair and was told though the valve cover gasket was leaking the valve covers would need to be replaced due to covers being warped and that a sensor should be replaced. I approved all the work. When I picked up the car I asked to see the warped valve covers and conveniently they got thrown away and I was told the sensor did not get replaced. When I got the car home I had a much larger oil leak then when I took it in. Long story short I had to take the car in three times to fix problem. The driver side floor mat is now stained with oil footprints , there were oily fingerprints all over the car. I do not recommend anyone ever go there. They do not take pride in their work read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS SHOP!!! Horrible. Just horrible. This shop replaced the starter switch on my jeep without my permission. I brought it in to have it checked out ONLY. I would decide later depending on the price. I had $200 to commit to fixing it at the time and they wanted $400 after they did all the work. I told them that it wasn't possible to pay the full amount so they ask for some collateral. I had no choice so used my ipod after 10min worth of questions about what generation the ipod was. As soon as I get my truck i cant turn my key back into just "accessories on mode" and my amp and sub dont work. In fact they cut the wire leading from my amp to the battery and removed it entirely from the battery terminal. They refused to take any responsibility and even laughed at the situation while i was explaining it. You have a better chance of seeing a good Nicholas Cage movie as the winning lottery numbers are read on the radio and get struck by lightning as a terminator travels through time and arrives in that exact theater than getting reliable service in that shop. read more

What I thought was going to be the worst day turned out to be a pretty okay one, thanks to In & Out Lube! My truck drove fine on the way to work, after leaving my first job... it wouldn't start. My Dad came by to see if it was maybe the battery or a fuse, we soon realized it was not. It was the... dun dun dun, fuel pump. Luckily it was In & Out Lube to the rescue! Towed it over, after settling on an extremely reasonable price and was told it would be done by noon. It was 10:15. It was done at 11:45! Color me impressed! When I retired here in Phoenix 7 years ago, I was fortunate enough to stop at In & Out Lube for a small service to my new car. Steve promptly addressed my car issue and soon after I realized that I had found an honest auto shop I could trust. Because I had new cars since the move to Phoenix, my auto maintenance/service were done at the car OEM dealers, I never got back to In & Out. A few months ago I purchased an older VW as a second car and soon realized it needed a muffler inspection. Steve again promptly inspect the car and informed me that the tires inner walls had dangerous bulges, the front break rotors were badly scored, the pad's abrasive materials were just about gone and that the engine oil pan gasket needed to be replaced. Because of the car's age, Steve recommended the timing belt replacement as well. Since Steve did show me the VW's issues, I accepted his recommended maintenance items for an estimate that was within my budget. I can only imagined what an OEM dealer would charged me for the above services. Do not hesitate to stop at In & Out Lube for your next car maintenance items. This is the worst mechanic shop in the world. My car broke down in the rain and my tail end was hanging out on 19th ave, in the pouring rain. I screamed for help as all the mechanics stood in the bays and watched me struggle to push my own car up their driveway. An older mechanic then proceeded to walk over to me with an umbrella over himself and told me, "we will help you push when the rain stops". A random stranger finally stopped and helped me push my car off the main road and a couple mechanics helped at the very end. I was literally screaming, "please help me!!!" and they all just stood there and watched. These are horrible people with no heart or concern for other human beings. I am embarrassed to share this planet with scum bags like this. GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE BUT THIS SHOP. read more

I have been to In & Out Lube, 11441 N 19th Ave, Phoenix AZ 85029, (602) 870-4229 for many years. I started out with a simple oil change for 19.95 and they even vacuumed my car (no charge). Stan and Steve did not try to sell me anything or up the price. I was so impressed and looked at the price list for their basic services. I decided that a tune-up was in order because the price was as listed and I was not pressured by owner or his staff I decided to give then a try. Over the years I have had many repairs done at In & Out Lube, 11441 N 19th Ave, Phoenix AZ 85029, and I have been satisfied with both the repairs and the customer service. The guys have been pimping my ride one visit at a time for over ten years. Every time I get my oil changed, a scheduled or emergency repair I have been treated well and they have stood behind their work. My previous mechanic overcharged and did merely adequate work that needed re-doing just over warranty time. The Customer Service at In & Out Lube, 11441 N 19th Ave, Phoenix AZ 85029, is exceptional. I am not talking about a positive greeting when you arrive, but it is always there. I am talking about a large repair requiring the backseat removed during the process and finding your "Mr. Wonderful Doll" /riding companion has been re-seat belted in the back seat. If Stan or Steve thought I was NUTZ for having a doll seat belted in the back seat they never said... but the gesture was so kind it told me they noticed and I was touched. After having my car there several times for the same repair, Steve cancelled the guarantee that he said he would stand behind and told he to leave the shop or he would call the police. Sadly I was unable to afford to have the car repaired by someone else and ended up selling it for junk. read more
