I wish I could leave 10 stars for this business. My AC unit has not been working since last year. I called Millers to come out to give me a quote on replacing the AC unit as Eagle Air had quoted us at 30k to replace and install a new AC unit. Alan a manager came out to inspect and give us options on how we can proceed in replacing our current AC. He was incredibly well informed and very knowledgable in explaining what our best options were. He called the office on the spot to set up an appointment for a service tech to come out and see if we could first fix the AC before doing a total replacement. Alan offered to bring us a window AC unit due to me being in my late 3rd trimester to make sure I am comfortable in the mean time. Sonny the service tech came out and found the problem with the AC unit in record time! We had a previous company come out and told us it was the compressor and quoted us at 7k to replace. It was in fact the capacitor that was not working. Sonny fixed the issue incredibly fast and now we have perfect working AC just in time for the heatwave. He was extremely professional and helpful in answering all of our questions. 10/10 I could rave all day about how wonderful Alan and Sonny were in helping fix our AC issue in a timely manner with out breaking our wallets with a baby on the way. I will be only using Millers Air for life and will let all my family and friends know this is the only option for AC services they'll ever need. I previously highly recommended Miller's Air Conditioning and Heating last year for their initial work inspecting, quoting, installing, and servicing my Bryant HVAC replacement. Earlier this week, I asked them to check the HVAC system to see if they could make the A/C it a little quieter. Dominic came out and made the changes. What I especially appreciated was the time he took to explain how the system worked, the options, and his recommendation. After the previous company failed to complete our Furnace repair we asked our SIL for a recommendation. Miller's AC & Heating was my first call, I requested they repair our Dual Heating System. They had an appointment the very next day. Tony arrived early. He immediately understood the problem with the dual system. He skillfully set it up so it would work while he ordered the part required. He explained everything, was super friendly, quick, and efficient. We are excited to have heat while we wait for our part to arrive and be installed. We've had Miller's HVAC out to our home three different times now, and every experience has been excellent. Our first couple of visits were with Sonny, who is truly outstanding. He really knows his stuff and helped us sort out several AC issues in our older house. He topped off the freon, replaced worn parts, and made sure our system was cooling the way it should. My dogs love him too! More recently, we hired Miller's to replace all the ductwork under our home. The crew of three techs (Sergio, Guy, and I can't recall the thirds name) showed up on time, took thorough measurements, removed the old ducting on day one, and came back the next morning to complete the installation. Last week I arrived home from a trip to find my furnace was out. After doing some investigation I was referred to Miller's for their customer centric service approach. Kelly was so supportive throughout the entire process, quickly helped me get an initial assessment and worked with Sonny to diligently with multiple vendors to track down the part I needed and have it expedited. Miller's replaced my 19 years old HVAC with a new more efficient 2 stage HVAC back in 2018. They did a great job and the furnace in the attic and the condenser unit outside worked great. 7 years later, yesterday (Sunday), the AC stopped putting out cool air all of a sudden in the afternoon and it was 95 degrees outside. I called Miller's at about 6pm and they were able to have a technician to contact me. Sonny, the technician called me a little after 8pm and told me he could be at my house in about 20 minutes to evaluate the unit. He arrived as he said and he found out the capacitor went bad and he replaced it. The capacitor was covered under the manufacturer's 10 year warranty. So I only paid for the labor including the extra for after hour/emergency service and the cost was absolutely reasonable and better than I expected. I am glad that Sonny was able to come diagnose, and fix the problem not just at night but Sunday night and the next day (today) is Labor Day expecting to be 97 degrees weather. Another company had come out before Miller. They had told me my ac is out of coolant and needed r22. And said r22 is no longer being offered. Best just replace the unit. So I called around and found out that Miller's air conditioner company still carried the r22. Miller's had a tech came out who was very helpful. He tested everything that needed to be tested and gave me a true diagnosis. Turn out, I didn't need any cooolant. There was just a burnt wire that needed to be replaced. Didn't try to sell me anything. read more

Our HVAC system was from the late 90s and starting to fail. Miller's provided great advice and thorough explanations about our replacement options. Another company just quickly looked at our system and emailed a proposal, not bothering to talk through anything at all. After deciding to go with Miller's, we made an appointment for work to start in late March. We lucked out because the weather was nice enough not to miss having heating for a few days. They did offer to temporarily give us a space heater in case. Everyone involved was very professional and the work took about four days. The ducting ended up needing to get replaced but the contact was honored and we weren't charged extra. Miller's has been around since 1960 and has a great reputation in the Tri-Valley. The HERS inspector who came out said he never has problems with any of their work. Would definitely recommend Miller's to anyone looking for a reliable, family-owned HVAC company. read more

We called Miller's to replace our aging 45-year-old heat/air ducts that were damaged and leaking. They responded quickly. Mike LeGate did an inspection and gave us an estimate that was competitive if not better than several others we received. We chose Millers as we have had them replace 3 furnaces and 2 air conditioners in houses since they first installed an air conditioner 47 years ago in our house in Pleasanton. The installation crew arrived on time every morning. Nelu, Mau and Sergio were very professional and knowledgeable and pleasant. They protected everything in their path with plastic drop cloths. I've had two really positive experiences with Ori Miller's, once when my AC went out in the middle of the crazy heat wave in September and once when my heat went out in December. When the AC went out, Miller's was the only one of around 10 companies I called that could get someone out that night, which was a big deal because it was 92 degrees in my house and I had a hip surgery the following day and wouldn't be able to deal with it then. Ori came out within half an hour, quickly diagnosed the problem, and helped us get it fixed and get the AC back up and running before we roasted. When the heat went out, I immediately called Miller's again. Ori came out quickly and figured out the issue, but it was unfortunately not an easy fix and would require a part that had to be ordered. He sent me a quote the next morning, but my landlord had decided he wanted to try to get it covered under warranty. Ori told me what my landlord would need to do to get warranty coverage so that it could get done as quickly as possible because he was "concerned about [me] not having heat." I really appreciated the care and concern he showed even when my landlord was going to have someone else handle the problem. And he even asked how my dad (who'd been visiting when the AC went out) was doing. If it's up to me and not my landlord, I'll call Miller's and Ori every time. read more

For the past several weeks we heard a noise in the attic every time the AC would turn on. We called Millers to come out and diagnose the issue. The tech was helpful, completed his diagnostic and explained the situation. We needed to replace 2 dampers, the zone board and two thermostats. He said that the estimate to complete the work would be sent from the office w/in the next couple of days. We received the estimate and it was $7,400, which from the research I had done was significantly higher than it should have been. I also contacted the company and asked if they would provide me the the parts vs. labor break-out, which they never responded to. Fortunately, we contacted two additional companies and asked them to provide quotes. For the exact same work, both of the companies quoted between $2,800 and $3,200. Both are very reputable and well known companies in the area. Miller's was 260% higher than the lowest bid and 230% higher than the highest bid. This is ridiculous and should be illegal. There are many people that don't think to question the quotes that a company like Miller's provides and they just pay the money because they need to have their HVAC system working for their family. Shame on you Miller's. This is price gouging at its worst and I ensure you that I have already started to share this story and will continue to do so. read more

From the onset had a pretty good experience. Price was competitive for total hvac replacement of furnace and air conditioning. We had several quotes went with millers. The bad part for a 13k cost of unit was when the actuator for dual zone air ducts in upstairs downstairs system went out. What I found out is they did not replace the actuator motor on my system. The actual manufacture date on the actuator was 1991. So basically to use a new car analogy, I paid for a new car and they chose to put my old car battery in the new car. Who does that, that is not right. When they made a call to check and diagnose, $75 visit to tell me that part is out , well no kidding. The company that made the part in 1991 has been gobbled up by bigger company and of course the part was difficult to replace since it was circa 1991. If they found the part it was estimated to be $400 - $700. I chose not to use Millers at all to fix, pissed me off so much. I went to someone else to fix I think my 13k was enough that I paid and then to have old parts left on the system. That said, if you are purchasing make sure every single part is pointed out to be replaced a list is made and checked off when completed. Supposed to be hiring a quality contractor, I guess let the buyer beware and read up on hvac to confirm what is being paid for is being done. read more

I had fallen victim to a "deal" by a country-wide cleaning company that threw in an AC service for under $175. The "technician" barely touched the unit. I engaged Miller's A/C and their Technician completely spray cleaned and sanitized the whole unit as well as checked the tempeture and unit for leaks. We had added a UV sanitizing light 3 years ago that needed to be replaced. The unsatisfactary technician ignored it. We will stick with Miller's for any and all AC needs. read more

We scheduled a service to have our emergency pipe checked out that kept leaking onto our balcony every time we used our AC. The rust from the leak left an awful stain on our balcony and garage area. We originally used our home warranty & another company who were not able to find a solution and told us this 'just happens.' Ori came out the next week. He identified a clog in our pipes and flushed them to work properly in under an hour. He was so knowledgeable and gave us a rundown of how the system works.
