My friends and I decided to visit specifically to try this viral "skillet cheese burger." We went around 9pm and everything was a bit off from usual. The host was mopping the host stand so we had to maneuver around the waiting area while waiting for our whole party to arrive. It was unusually busy, maybe because a game was on, and service was a lot slower than usual. Our waiter was very nice regardless and got everything correct, just took a while to get his attention sometimes. Otherwise, eating here is as nice as ever, and seemed clean. As I mentioned, we went here to try this new burger. My friend and I both agreed that it wasn't bad, but the queso really didn't add much to the burger flavor, just made the bun soggy. The burger was very good on its own, and I will just order that alone next time. Unfortunately, after dinner, I was left with a major stomach ache that lasted throughout the night. My friend, who didn't have dessert, had the same issue. I will definitely not be ordering this again and can't recommend it! Otherwise, this is a spot I have been to many times and will visit again. Three stores because of the amazing lineup of beers on tap. Also, although I didn't indulge they do have a Yuengling Flight available. That's pretty awesome. Inside is very spacious, and great for groups . TV screens everywhere no matter where you sit. I ordered the mild buffalo wings, and they were really good. Crispy outside, tender inside fried to perfection. I also tried a salad, which was not so good. It was plain and the trademark Zingers were too dry . I'm not sure if it's because I'm a queen's native but when we are in Queens time is of the essence. It seems like some establishments such as this one in Long Island lack time management . Second visit to the Commack Millers ( mixed experience first time) but this time had a wonderful experience. Warmly welcomed but had a 20 minute wait (expected for a Friday evening ). Our server was very pleasant and welcoming and made some excellent recommendations. Overall all our dishes were very good and served promptly: chips and dip, wings, fish and chips, zinger salads, steak and shrimp. Although restaurant was extremely busy, this time around there was enough servers and cooking staff scheduled. There is plenty of seating: regular tables, high top tables and bar seating. All with excellent views of the numerous TVs. Located off Veterans Highway ( 454) with easy access along with Plenty of parking as well. They are also a tad smaller than chicken fingers. Coming in an array of sauces. We got these to start. What's cool is you can get them "naked" with up to three sauces on the side. Sweet Thai Chili was our favorite. Don't let the "sweet" fool you. It packed some heat. Drinks-prickly pear margarita in the shaker. Do it! Delish and you get about two drinks out of it. I got the zinger salad, which was pretty generic but good all in the same. Hubs got a burger and our friend we met with got the Philly cheesesteak which was a fav of mine when we used to go. Never had a bad experience at Millers until today. There was a game on, but it wasn't overly crowded. Either way, there is no excuse for poor service. To start, my boyfriend and I ordered zingers. They took a very long time to come out and when they did they weren't that hot at all. For our entrees, I ordered the shrimp and chicken Cobb salad and my boyfriend I ordered chicken Caesar salad. Our salads took over an hour to come out. At one point our waitress said they would be right out. 20 minutes went by and still no salad. Hello yelpers, we came in for an early dinner. This was my first time at this Millers Ale House. Our waiter took very good care of us and brought the food in a timely fashion. My order was delicious and a decent portion. I had the side dots with blue cheese and then a bacon Cheeseburger that came with a side of fries. The burger was delicious and juicy, nice size and very satisfying. I'm not sure what the others had because I got to the table late. Terrible service and ceiling leaking near table. We were seated at the table in front of the kitchen. The table next to us had a ceiling leaking onto it with buckets catching it. We felt some splash from it. I ordered a prickly pear margarita. It was served in a plastic shaker. When I went to pour it, the top fell off and it spilled all over the table. The server said I poured it incorrectly when she never gave me instructions to begin with. The server never cleaned up our table. We complained to Alex, the manager. He said he would give us a free dessert and changed our table. It took 20 mins for the dessert to come. The bill have my 2 margaritas and the dessert on it. A lot of things could improve at this location. The wait time of 20-25 minutes seems to be a long time when you have various open tables around you open and unoccupied, in a section where wait staff is serving and people just left. Many people were standing around and opted to eat at the bar I guess because of the wait time. Someone cleaning a table nearby literally paged him on her walkie talkie headset and he came back to our table. Not really sure what he was doing. We did not leave him a 20% tip no we left 18%. We always leave 20% but this time the service was not there. Constantly being left is not good service. Sorry not sorry. Upon exiting my fiancé left his phone at the table and was turning around to go get it. The waiter chased us out the door and thrust the phone at us and said you left this and we said thank you and he goes "yea whatever ". Really? He has oral surgery tomorrow on his mouth and we just wanted to have a nice dinner. You might want to check your employees about how they speak to customers outside the door when they don't like their tip. The food here was a mixed bag - Our group's order included got a 10z sirloin which was ok but came with overcooked veggies and a mediocre baked potato option. The appetizers included cheese fries w/ bacon which were very good and calamari which was less appetizing (few places seem to make it good). On this evening it was packed. 30 minute wait we're told. OK we'll sit at the bar and have a drink while waiting. Seemed like 20 minute wait which was a plus. This night it seemed like we were in a different restaurant. Waiter was attentive, food came as a good rate, and overall it was a good meal. Felt like the "Miller's Ale House" I originally expected.
