I'm not really a fancy girl. Bar food and drinks suit me just fine so my bestie and I decided to come visit this Ale House. It's right down the street from me, and no makeup is required. You can count on Ale House to always offer great drink specials, a laid back environment, and well-portioned & reasonably priced food. We ordered the Apple Pear Martinis to start. While my friend loves it and orders it regularly, I was not a fan. But to be fair, I had a horror story involving Apple martinis about 15 years ago, and have never drank one since. It was actually my first since that time, and it will be my last. But if you like Apple, it was a decent pour and worthwhile. We then got side salads- me the House and my friend the Caesar. I liked my salad alright. It had a nice amount of chopped cucumber & tomato, with cheese and croutons. I ordered it with the light balsamic dressing which was tasty. Here is where things went south for me. I ordered the grilled chicken from the light menu and it was DISGUSTING. How can a grilled chicken breast be so disgusting, you ask? It was strangeeeee. It had a chewy, rubbery texture and it just looked off. I took a bite or two and told my friend something was wrong with the chicken. She asked what and I said it wasn't real chicken. She didn't believe me and tried a bite and immediately understood. She said she wouldn't eat that and I shouldn't either, and I sent it back. The server asked if I wanted something different, but I declined. Watching the waistline, lol. My friend had the chicken Cajun pasta which was very tasty, though. Service was decent, but the food just doesn't seem as good as some other Ale Houses I have been to. Could just be that healthy cuisine isn't their strong suit, but it was just an average experience earning them 3 stars in my book. read more

I honestly don't like giving bad reviews. But this place needs work. It's a sports bar but I've been to many and none have been this bad. Came for some drinks and food with a coworker. Close at 12am we got there at 10pm and were rushed the whole time. We ordered shots. Got hot tequila with hot glasses, terrible. Staff arguing right next to our table half the time. At 11pm server said we couldn't order anything else and dropped the check. 2 minutes later came and said can you guys please pay, when we hadn't even finished our drinks or food and mind you again they close at 12am. We went for a last minute dinner and it was not a bad idea. I liked: My food, I had the spinach dip and chips. The dip was delicious, creamy, and served the way I loved: HOT. But the chips were too greasy for my taste. I didn't like: The service. Our server was nice but she left us and she was not checking on us as I wanted and needed. There was a point I needed napkins and she was not there, so I had to wait for her to come and see us. The restrooms, not as clean as they should be. I had another great time at Ale House. Came in for some late night drinks and ended up ordering their new fried cauliflower with Korean spicy sauce. YUM! Definitely my new fave! I had the fish dip as well, probably wouldn't order it again though, it was a bit too fishy for my taste, I had to drench it in lemon juice and hot sauce. I usually get the captain jacks dessert which is AMAZING. But I knew I went wrong when I listened to my cousin about getting the brownie.... it was really dry and mediocre. This is a food review as it only covers their takeout. I used to go there frequently to grab a Guinness and have lunch. The fish sandwich and homemade chips were outstanding. Then something changed. The chips were no longer delicious. The bartender told me they changed how the chips were made. I switched to fries. Last night we ordered home delivery and got the special which was ribs. I also ordered the chips (try again) and cole slaw. Everything was horrible. the ribs were dry, overcooked, and came warm where some fat had turned cool and greasy. The chips had not improved. The ribs were the daily special so I can only assume they prepared a large quantity and kept them on a warm fire until they got an order. This would have dried them out. There was no sauce to speak of and a spice concoction that was not flavorful. The cole slaw was also not good. I love the location as it is nearby. I just wish they had better food. I may still stop by but only for a Guinness. read more

Come here quite a bit with my daughters for daddy - daughter time during the weekends.. my girls love the filet mignon here and they have had it before. Today was strange though... 2 of my 3 daughters ordered filet mignon and it appeared that the flat iron steak came instead. When manager was summoned he said it was filet mignon and that the cut this week was different of the filet mignon. I guess consistency is not important. Maybe next time (if there is a next time) I will order filet mignon and they can bring me chicken strips and tell me it's lamb. PS. : my daughter cut a huge piece of gristle from the "filet mignon" and didn't finish it... a first. I haven't been here in a long time. Overall Ale House is a cool local spot with every day happy hour and late night specials. You can't go wrong! Staff is good and leave you to yourself doesn't bother you. They have seats at the bar, booth, and high tops. I always prefer the hight tops unless I'm only going with 1 other person then I'll sit at the bar. My go to choice that I share is the zinger mountain melt and their nachos which btw you can order the zinger melt with sweet potato fries. I just rather have the fries...not that I need them but what the heck! Lol I wish I could've taken a pic of the zinger mountain melt but the guys were hungry and I wasn't fast enough to pull out my cam! Smh these boys! They finally changed their menu! I tried the French onion soup and the zinger Mac and cheese. Definitely recommend to ask for the sauce on the side if your a texture person. The Food takes really long to get to your table. The waitress forgot multiple items that we ordered. Grant it we sat at the bar and she was the only one serving about 15 people at the bar so I can't blame her for forgetting. The food takes FOREVER to get to your table. We got here at 10 and ordered zingers and pasta, nachos and a regular order of zingers. It arrived within 40 minutes without the nachos. Aside from feeling like a cheaper version of Flanigans I'd rather wait 40 minutes for flanigans than to come down the street and wait 5 minutes for a table and 35 minutes for bad quality food. We came here for a birthday yesterday and it had to be the worst service I have ever received. A group of 9 and we all placed our orders at the same time. We got 8 plates and when we asked the lady for the last meal, she said "the kitchen just told me they don't have it available" literally waited until everyone got their food to say it wasn't available. Another meal was missing some of the order, when asked, her response "oh yea we don't have any" the attitude the server had since we got there was very unprofessional, she didn't seem like she wanted to help in any way. We ended just getting a dessert and singing happy birthday ourselves to avoid having to deal with her attitude.
