A solid place to go if you want some good brew style American food! Their signature prime burger was a really good burger and cooked to perfection on my medium-rare request. The gravy on it was tasty and didn't need any outside sauce. Sweet potato fries were also really good although I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce they brought out with it. I enjoy the comfortable, sporty casual atmosphere of this place. The serving size of most food is great (seafood being the noted exception for me thus far). The giant pretzel appetizer they have is often my meal choice, however, while it comes with one beer cheese and one mustard, I am not a mustard eater and always request a second beer cheese. Surprisingly, this place was very good. They have a wide variety of options. Unlike, other bar style restaurants. The watermelon margarita was good, I wish it actually had the fresh pieces of watermelon in it like the description. I ordered the mahi shrimp and grits, but was told they were out of mahi. Bummer! I ended up getting the Mac and cheese with chicken zingers with spiced honey for my zinger sauce. I'm a big critic when it comes to Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese isn't for everybody. I guess one might choose to go here for several reasons: the location, the many TVs with a variety of sporting events, you are in NEED of some food, the drinks/beer. One would not choose to go here for a fine dining experience. It's the kind of food that does in a pinch. First there was some initial tumult and confusion in the front while checking in- several groups wanting different things all at once (to be seated, to go orders, etc). Once seated I was startled when a server mopping the area behind me, I hadn't noticed her until..., pulled out a chair at the table behind me and it whacked my chair so alarmingly. Oh well, then our waiter (Coby, Colby?) came by and he was the best thing about the place: patient, kind, helpful, etc. We shared a salad which, while it tasted fine, was just the kind of salad you'd throw together at home- lettuce, tomatoes, maybe a few other veggies, and shredded highly processed cheese, and croutons. My husbands (fish and chips) fish was super plentiful but the fries were not so much nor were they so good. My mahi tacos were slightly better than ok, the black beans were just ok. The brownie ice cream sundae was gigantic and not bad. In general, the place gave me sort of a dirty sticky feeling. I seemed to notice several trails of water on the floor everywhere though I kept seeing people mopping (unappetizing while eating). When I left the bathroom (more trails of water on the way there and inside the bathroom) I noticed dirty mops, brooms, and dustpans- these should really be kept out of sight. read more

We are taken to our booth and my seat was filthy. I had to brush stuff off and go to the bathroom to get a wet paper towel. Yes I could had said something but you think it's taught to look before putting a customer there. The price was good I was really excited. Ordered our food and drinks.. Food arrives in a timely fashioned. The fish was not cook right. It absorbed so much grease so you know it got dropped before the grease was not right. The salad was good but the plate could had been wiped around the edges to clean it up some. I was scared yo use the utensils at this point since the one that was bought had dried food stuck on it. Bad news ahead: It was an average American restaurant with your typical fare. I ordered the new chicken quesadilla. Maybe I should have listened to the tiny red flags concerning the weird aftertaste of the quesadilla. But I didn't. I was on a long road trip and too hungry to care. I hadn't eaten all day and would have scarfed up pretty much anything placed in front of me. This was 4:00 pm. At 9:15 pm, I found myself trying to check in to a hotel after a long day on the road. I stopped at the nearest gas station because my stomach went nuts. Next thing I knew, I was frantically running *running* running! to a bathroom clenching my buttcheeks tight and praying all the prayers one does when the distance to the toilet seems improbably long. I am telling you this, dear reader, even though it shamed me: I came centimeters away from shitting myself. When I reached the stall, I couldn't even close the door because pulling down my pants and squatting on the pot were literally the only moves I had left. Yes, I made crazy vocal (and anal) noises in that stall that I was so very happy to have reached in time. And yes, I closed the stall door when i finally came to. Afterwards, I looked in the potty and it contained the contents of my chicken quesadilla. It has been a long time since I had food poisoning. And I have never posted about it. Ever. But this was shocking. I am a grown ass woman and honestly did not think I was going to make it to the bathroom in time. Maybe this experience was an outlier. It doesn't matter to me as I will never eat here again. I truly regret eating here in the first place. For those of you who choose to eat here, I hope you have a different experience (or at least a different cook). I'm not blown away by Miller's ale house and I'm not particularly impressed. Overall, the food is just alright. The nachos are huge. You definitely want to share those. Shrimp scampi linguine was good and had plenty of shrimp. The garlic bread it came with tasted like regular bland bread. The 5 pepper fire wings were also tasty. Packed flavor and the heat creeps up on you. Hot garlic wings were lacking in flavor. I've had better. Calamari was bland as well. Zingers mountain melt was mediocre. It was huge, but did not taste as good as it looked. I got the zingers in mango habanero for the mountain melt. Their mango habanero was not enjoyable. It was just really really sweet, no spice at all. We also got the watermelon margarita pitcher. It was not strong at all. It was good and tasted like juice but I thought I'd at least get drunk and not just have a very small buzz. read more

Miller's Ale House in Murfreesboro charges a flat sales tax rate of 15% across the board for food and alcohol. 15% is correct for single acholic beverages, however prepared food is 7%. They pocket the additional 8! Most reputable restaurants clearly show their individual tax rates. Miller's Ale House shows no percentages, just the total amount owed. Crooked as the day is long! Just enjoyed a wonderful meal at Miller's Ale House. My youngest son Micah had the Fettuccine Alfredo with a Cajun Chicken and Broccoli florets. He said it was good, but not great...the Alfredo was kinda runny and bland. That's the problem we have when going out for Italian, when the Daddy who is Italian, cooks better than 95% of the restaurants in Tennessee. Not that I have a big head, it's just the truth! I on the other hand had the Pork Osso Buco (usually done with veal shank instead of pork shank), but this was very tender and fall off the bone delicious. The natural juices and spices were amazing. And the Mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious as well. They also had a decent selection of beers on tap, but I still don't understand why any restaurant thinks that they need 45 IPA's but only 2 Porters or stouts? It's beyond ridiculous. One of the restaurants on my list opened this week and eagerly tested the waters on a recent weekday afternoon. The building has been completely remodeled along with some structural improvements to the point where it is not recognizable from what it used to be. The interior is spacious with a square bar that has been bisected to divide the restaurant into two sections. They had a lot of staff on hand and everyone looked good in their new uniforms. The menu has a variety of items, mainly American food but extending to Italian (Osso Bucco). A specialty of this chain are Zingers, chicken tenders that are served with your choice of a number of available sauces. My Prime Rib was a generous 12-oz served the way I ordered it and was hearty and tender. Mashed potatoes with brown gravy were the perfect accompaniment (although you could also choose white gravy or even a baked potato instead!). The beer selection is large and includes at least 2 non-alcohol varieties. I am glad to see this new addition to Murfreesboro's growing dining scene and I will gladly return to try that Osso Bucco! I also want to say that the service was outstanding, especially when I consider that this restaurant has been open for only 4 days! read more

In general, I steer clear of most chain restaurants, but Miller's Ale House is one exception that I'll make. I've visited a few times and have left satisfied and impressed on every occasion. The service has always been friendly and fast, even when I have come with bigger parties. The location is not huge so at peak times they can fill up and its not uncommon to have to wait a little while for a table. The longest I've had to wait was about 30 minutes, but since it shares a parking lot with the mall we were able to walk around and window shop while we waited. They have a good beer selection with more than a few rotating crafts on tap and in bottle/cans. The food is great, with one of my go-to favorites being the pork osso-bucco which is a marinated, slow-cooked shank, served with mashed potatoes & brown gravy. Its so tender and absolutely falls off the bone. One of their newest additions that I tried and loved was the smashed queso burger, which was topped with caramelized onions, queso, and poblano peppers. Make sure to get an extra side of the queso that comes on the burger because it's great for dipping fries in. When the weather is nice they have a pretty nice outdoor dining area with some firepit tables they can crank up in the evenings. read more

This is not your normal "bar" food!!! Some friends and I went to try out the newly opened Miller's Ale House next to the Stones River Mall. This place is huge with two large bars and if you don't have a good view of a TV in this place, you're probably sitting in the parking lot! For starters we went with the pan fried Potstickers/Pork dumplings with the sweet Thai chili sauce...they were good and the sauce had just enough spice to make the dish enjoyable. The fried calamari was really good...love the small rings and the dish went well with the sweet Thai chili sauce and a side of ranch. I decided to try the Pork Osso Buco based on the recommendation from Stephanie. I have enjoyed Lamb Osso Buco so I was anxious to try a pork version of the dish. As you can see in the picture...beautifully presented dish. A huge marinated pork shank that they slow cook by steaming the shank, then dropping it into a deep fryer to add a crust to the shank. For sides I went with the mashed potatoes and brown gravy, coleslaw, and added a salad. The pork shank was fall off the bone tender and the sauce drizzled around the meat really complemented the pork. The potatoes were good and the coleslaw was excellent...love a solid mayo-based coleslaw. Overall...this dish was exceptional!!! The salad was huge and could have fed two people...if you want a salad with your meal go with the side salad. My friends went with the Mahi-Mahi...good flavor but slightly overcooked. The fish was on the thin side so it wouldn't take much to put it on the "well" side. The other main course was the special 12oz Prime Rib that was perfectly cooked and quite flavorful. The only hiccup was we never got the onion rings we ordered, but honestly we had more than enough food! Thanks to Stephanie who gave us a lot of information on how the dishes were prepared and what to try. She will be heading back to New York as she was here to assist with the opening. Our waiter Darius did a great job and kept the food coming while clearing away all of the empty plates. This place is much more than a bar and "bar food" and for a Thursday night they were packed. The menu is extensive and so far extremely well thought out and the preparation resulted in some great food. There's a lot of options here to pretty much satisfy the palate, and of course...there's beer too!!! read more

We both had really good drinks from the bar and the food was excellent. I had the 35 Shrimp dinner and it was very good. My fiancé had a chicken dish and she enjoyed it as well. Anyway, the outside seating area was full. Definitely a good sign. We ordered too much food but why not. Started with a Caesar salad (apologies, no pic) which was a good one. Would order again. Then we ordered the Bavarian pretzel. Deeeeelicious. You can get an idea of the size based on the cheese and mustard being in the middle of the pretzel. Went here to watch the game on a Thursday night, plenty of tv's to accommodate us. Our server, Lindsey, was absolutely fantastic. She was very proficient at her job & was extremely professional. Ambiance/service: Restaurant's layout is specifically tailored to guarantee a visual of your preferred sporting event. Bar is conveniently located in the middle making it easy to grab drinks. We have eaten here many times the past year. This is the most consistent restaurant in Murfreesboro as far of getting a great meal every time. Great atmosphere, very clean, fairly quick in being served, and very good food. The meals which we have tried and would recommend are: fried shrimp, Osso bucco, pan fried dumplings (pot stickers), the Q burger, fish and chips, bacon cheese burger, chicken Parm Alfredo, seafood platter, and the mahi mahi tacos. Miller's Ale House has really stepped up their game. Amazing service by Linsey. She was very attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and her timing was perfect. I knew right away that there must've been some major changes recently. My past few experiences weren't great, but this time couldn't have been better. It turns out that they have a new manager, Rob Jacques. Rob stopped by our table and explained his back story and how he put his plans for improvement in action right away. I wish I could've gotten some pictures of our delicious food, but my boyfriend and I were too busy chowing down. We started with 6 wings and an order of potstickers. For entrees, my boyfriend ordered the cilantro lime chicken and I ordered the chimichuri steak salad. Everything was delicious! There are so many other new menu items that I can't wait to try.
