Great food and service in a social atmosphere. My son and I went for lunch and they were serving brunch until 2:00 pm, but allowed me to order from the main menu. My son had the Huevos Rankeros, not Rancheros! The portion is enormous. He had tater tots with it. I had I think a Bradford or similar name burger with BBQ sauce and bacon on a brioche roll and sweet potato fries. I can barely eat half a burger, but I ate the entire burger. $40.00 for brunch and we left full, fat and happy!

My daughter made mention chili was good but a lot of beans for her liking. But flavor was great! Also ordered Pastrami Ruben ( no burger patty) & onion rings with 2 dipping sauces for an up charge of $.75 cents each. Sandwich & onion rings were great. Our server was polite & attentive. Food came out in a timely manner. My only feedback would be when there is an up charge we should have been notified and asked if that is okay. I didn't mind paying for the sauces & all flats but it's customary and appropriate for the waitress/water to notify of additional charges. We will definitely be back though.

High volume, people constantly coming and going, and I can definitely see why it's a local favorite. Unfortunately, there were some misses. The floors were sticky, the tables were sticky, and our onion rings came out room temperature. The fries were soggy, also room temperature, and just didn't taste fresh. The burgers, though? Outstanding. My burger was seriously spicy--and I LOVED it. Easily the highlight of the meal. Service was friendly, but after asking for our check, we waited about 10 minutes and eventually had to get up and look for our waitress. Granted, they were crazy busy, so I understand--but it was still annoying. Overall, I can absolutely see why people love this place, especially for the burgers and friendly staff. It just wasn't enough for me to want to come back.

When I read the email announcing tonight's Chef's dinner, we couldn't resist. No one, and I mean NO ONE, can fry an oyster better than Chef. Perched atop a great classic--deviled egg with bacon bits--the oyster was tender with a light batter-fried coating. Chef's duckfat cornbread drizzled with just the right amount of avocado butter provided the perfect podium on which two blackened shrimp lightly dusted with a hint of subtle spices rested. If you know me, you know I don't like my food to hurt me, and this dish met my requirements with a whisper of, "Here I am." Now, my hubby doesn't like anything with coffee, so he was worried about the hickory smoked chicken with espresso molasses BBQ sauce. However, he admitted the sauce didn't have any hint of coffee and, in fact, it was a delicious complement to the chicken. As for the pancetta Mac 'n' Cheese, its creamy cheesiness balanced out the smokiness of the chicken. Chef Joseph often offers one of his Pot de Crème varieties to finish a meal. I always look forward to them. Tonight's Pineapple White Chocolate version was a perfect finish to a perfect dining experience. Sparkling wines and summer--the perfect pairing. Even more perfect when you are enjoying them with a fabulous meal at Lucilla.

I had recently heard that this place is a Michelin notable and now I know why. Don't be fooled by the nondescript, gray exterior, the inside is adorable and cozy. Valet is complementary which is a nice touch. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Service is incredibly quick from the time you order to when you receive your meal. Food was absolutely delicious. Hubby and I ordered a few appetizers as well as the chefs tasting menu and it did not disappoint. The appetizers we chose were the charred octopus and the fire roasted oysters. Both were wonderful but the octopus was a standout. For the tasting menu, it changes daily and is 4 courses with a dessert course to round out the meal. Ours happened to include: Sausage w olive tapenade, Filet w tomato and veggie chow chow (so tasty), Duck tostada w avocado crema, Elk filet w hasselback potatoes and asparagus (show stopper), and Orange rice pudding w pistachio cookie crumble which was such a nice, light way to end the meal. One thing to note: they automatically add 18% gratuity to your bill which is split between all front of house and back of house staff. Anything you leave above this will go directly to your waiter. There is a card they leave when they drop off the bill that explains this more eloquently than I am but I found it to be unique that they openly discuss it instead of adding it to the bill with no notice or explanation.

There was no distinct flavor profile... it literally just tasted like sour mix. Wouldn't get that again; however, this is going into one of my favorite restaurants on the east coast !

It's a place I…read morefrequent on my days off, and last week was my first time dining there since their recent menu flip. That morning I ordered one of my favorites, the lox bagel. I didn't realize that with the new menu changes, ordering a lox bagel meant all assembly required-- by the customer. I received a plastic to-go box with a toasted bagel, a ramekin of cream cheese, a ramekin mixture of capers and onions, and smoked salmon wrapped in a deli sheet. I was puzzled and asked for clarification from a sales associate, as the order was not to-go. I want to stress the fact that there was no negligence whatsoever on the part of the employee-- she's great and always makes my day when I see she's working. However, I find it to be quite a bizarre policy to require a guest to construct their own sandwich. Part of the reason people dine out is to be cared for and have a stress-free morning. It was also a waste of plastic cutlery, as I used a single knife to spread cream cheese and tossed the unneeded fork and spoon. Now while I am proud of my sandwich build and the flavor was good, I was left with fingers that smelled like salmon despite washing my hands multiple times. Not exactly what I was hoping for at 10 am on my day off from working in a restaurant. I understand the fine details of menu flips can be a bit clumsy at first, but I hope management receives this feedback and reconsiders this self-assembly method. I love this place and the atmosphere and staff. The lox bagel experience just didn't hit the mark for me.
