I would have liked a bit more seasoning while they were cooking, but a bit of salt and pepper and I was good to go. My coworker got the big breakfast but subbed out the homefries for corned beef hash. While I'm not a fan of corned beef hash, it looked exactly like how my mom and grandfather like it, with a little bit of crisp to it. The pancake was huge and he said his over medium eggs were cooked exactly like he hoped they would be. T ordered a country omelet that was filled with breakfast meats, cheddar and peppers. Though not my thing, I agreed it was pretty good. His grits were creamy, buttery and delicious. Coffee is strong and served in the old-fashioned heavy mugs that I favor. Our server was friendly. ("Where are you from?" she asked, picking up on my Brooklyn accent.) What makes it more frustrating is that there's an automatic 18% gratuity even for small tables. I ended up having to tipping $22 total, and for only seeing her a handful of times, it definitely didn't feel deserved. To top it off, when I mentioned to the head bartender (who was acting as the manager) that I wouldn't be coming back, he pulled $40 cash out of his own wallet and offered it to me to "give them another chance."
