    Eggs Benedict
    Kimberly A.

Everything for the most part was 10/10. The service and the food was great. The eggs Benedict was very good. My grandma really enjoyed her mushroom omelette as well. My fave was the biscuit with honey butter. The sweet potato fries were excellent too! The only negative was the older woman hostess wasn't particularly welcoming. I definitely would return :)

Eggs brown and overcooked blueberry lemon muffin.

Second time here first time I gave a glowing review this time not so much. Maybe because it was a weekend and the place was busier food took a while. I don't usually complain about that because I know how hard it is to stay. Last time I got their wonderful s'mores French toast. Try if you can and my companion got some of their special bunnies. Nice touch. This time I went simple and got a breakfast sandwich, egg scrapple (yeah I know gross but... ) And when the food finally came, the eggs were burnt brown. I complained after since didn't have time to wait again and the waitress said I could've asked them to be redone. I shouldn't have to. No one should actually throw an egg that brown on a plat, so brown it looked like my toast. Also got a blueberry lemon muffin, which is more like a muffin top, but that too had a brown brown top. Taste a good regardless, but it would've been a special treat if it wasn't overcooked. May try again since it's local but would not go out of my way

FIRST, breakfast is my favorite meal, but WHAT?!…read more A breakfast place with NO butter?! Just some vegetable seed oil "spread" pretending to be butter?! I would think that at the minimum, you could provide some REAL butter in the little containers on the table! Even the old silver diners provide REAL butter. TWO Strikes for a "breakfast" place! Ordered one of their more expensive omelettes, the "Seafood" omelette with crab and shrimp. One of the worst omelettes that I have ever had, for $16.00. So bad, that I had to return it. The shrimp were the tiny, what I call 'bait" shrimp used for fishing. Actually, most "bait" shrimp are even bigger AND they tasted freezer burnt. Did not see any crab in the omelette, but since the shrimp were so foul tasting, I did not explore the flatest omelette that I have ever seen any further. So I went with ham and eggs, after confirming that the ham was indeed a ham "steak", with the manager. Honestly, if I ever was served a "steak", be it a beef steak or a ham steak, that was SO thin, I would get up and leave, but since we were both hungry after a long over night travel, we suffered through and ate what we were served. The wife ordered the crab Benedict, which despite the menu reading "poached" eggs, the eggs were more like soft boiled eggs. She claimed that everything tasted fine, but was disappointed to have soft boiled eggs, instead of actual "poached" eggs. THREE Strikes! Sorry Nudy's, but we WON'T be back. UPDATE: I forgot to mention that the manager here was very apologetic and accommodating to my concerns, even checking the expiration date of the shrimp that tasted freezer burnt. Both she and our server checked with me to make sure that my replacement breakfast was to my liking.

The highlights were a delicious beat and burrata salad, a lovely cheese board, and bangin' bread with whipped butter. We had mixed feelings about everything else. I liked the lobster roll but my companion was not impressed. The truffle cheese fries had unmelted shredded cheese on top; I have to believe someone forgot to put them under the broiler. I liked the quinoa fritters (they had a falafel-like herbaceousness), but my companion said they tasted like nothing. My companion liked the short ribs: I thought the meat was yummy but wasn't into the carrots or the gnocchi. (Dear chef, consider serving the short ribs with the truffle cheese fries; that would be an amazing combo if the cheese were melted.) Lastly, my English Garden cocktail was a little weird, like a cucumber bellini. I was expecting something else, I guess. I could be persuaded to try it again, though. In spite of the criticisms, a good meal and good experience. Would absolutely go back. Their brunch is also recommended.

We made the reservations for happy hour specifically to sit outside and listen to the live music. When we arrived, even though we had reservations for their happy hour, we were told there were no places outside and they wouldn't even honor their happy hour menu inside. They later came back after realizing they were in the wrong and said they would honor the drink prices but not the appetizers on the happy hour menu. We saw an empty high top table with no chairs outside that we would have stood at, but that wasn't even an option. Instead, we were told we could purchase drinks and walk around outside. Since we were there for a birthday (indicated on the reservation), this was upsetting. We left and found a nearby restaurant with delicious food and all-day happy hour nearby.

I thought it was a little donut shop, but it was actually a full restaurant/bar. The restaurant didn't really seem to be open yet, but the donuts at back were fresh and coming out for the morning. There were so many options it was very hard to choose what to get. These donuts were special, in that they are brioche and very large and fluffy. We got an apple pie and strawberry cheesecake donut. We definitely didn't need two, but "when in Delaware" I guess? Haha! Many restaurants place great emphasis and effort on the grand opening to garner good reviews and then drop their quality of service and food over time. This wasn't the case at First Watch. My wife and I visited First Watch a year ago on the day after Thanksgiving and were delighted by the quality of food and service, specifically the thoughtfulness and attention to detail from the staff so much so that we had to return one year later. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our hostess who lead us to our table where our family was already seated. Our server promptly arrived to offer beverages, take our orders, and answer questions. As we waited, the manager greeted us at our table and asked if there was anything we needed while our orders were being prepared. The restaurant was well lit with natural lighting and spacious as we remembered it a year ago. The menus were clear and offered a good selection of entrees, sides and daily specials. I ordered the Farmhouse Hasher with eggs over easy. My wife ordered one of the specials -- the double crunch breakfast tacos. Both were brought to us promptly. My wife loved the tacos and said she hadn't had such great tacos like that in quite a while. The farmhouse hasher was as I remembered it - the potatoes were cooked and seasoned perfectly; the bacon nice and crispy; and eggs over easy delicious. This will be our annual day-after-Thanksgiving morning tradition from now on!
