I was on a mission to find a coffee shop where I can go offline for some time. It was on a rainy day, I definitely did not want to head to the city. I wanted to find a new spot, to give other businesses some love. Ended up at the end of busy downtown Millbrae at a corner with Milli Cafe. It's pretty spacious inside with some communal and individual tables, some bar seats along the windows as well. Granted that day was pouring, I would expect more people on a weekend if the weather was better. I didn't look at their pastry selection, maybe for next time. I ended up getting their rose latte, was debating between that and charcoal latte, but I didn't need a black colored coffee to match that weather. Happy with my choice though, the coffee was smooth, the rose flavors were not overpowering. The presentation was cute, with the crushed petals added on. Service is a bit on the slower end, there were about 3 workers, less than a handful of customers throughout my time there. One group of customers left and their tables were full of crumbs, it did take a while for the staff to clean up. I do hope service speeds up a bit if there is a larger influx of customers.

A nice pick me up after my workout class nearby! I love the natural lighting in this space, enough seating, great for a quick catch up with a friend. I wanted an iced coffee that was good with soy milk and the barista recommended the Raw Honey Latte. Solid choice! A lil more on the sweeter side, but didn't bother me. Would love to come back!

This cute cafe has a nice menu including seasonal ones with fun flavors. I tried the banana cold brew crema which was good and definitely kept me awake, but I think the matcha was a winner here. For just a regular matcha, it had a strong flavor and wasn't too sweet. Service was nice and the drinks came out pretty fast.

My friend recently told me this is the sister shop to my go-to coffee spot in my neighborhood, Spruce Cafe in South San Francisco. It's my first time here but the staff and flavors feel familiar. My barista, Amy, works at both Millie and Spruce Cafe. She is very meticulous with her latte art and always creates the cutest designs for customers. One of the main reasons I enjoy going to Spruce Cafe is because of the latte art the staff create. Millie has large windows, making the space bright and airy. The drinks are similar to those at Spruce Cafe. There is plenty of street parking available outside, so parking is easy.

Stopped by here ahead of going to the SFO airport. The coconut latte is delicious and really flavorful as a hot latte. The space is bright with natural lighting and the illuminated boards really adds to the space. If I lived around here, I would definitely be here all the time! There's a bathroom, WiFi and there's 1 hour and 2 hour parking right outside.

I visited the coffee shop on a weekday morning when it was relatively quiet and there was no rush, so I expected a more attentive experience. Unfortunately, both baristas seemed to ignore us at the counter and ended up taking the order of someone who arrived a few minutes later, apparently because they were known to them. That part was a bit disappointing and set the wrong first impression. As for the coffee, it was decent taste and it felt slightly overpriced given the portion size. That said, the ambience is definitely a strong point. The space is comfortable, calm, and well-suited for spending time, especially if you want to sit down with a laptop and get some work done. Despite the service hiccup, I'd still consider coming back mainly for the atmosphere rather than the coffee itself.

Great looking interior with a simple menu of espresso and matcha drinks. During busy periods like weekend mornings, be prepared to wait 5-10 mins in line and then 15 mins for your order. If you are in a hurry, you should go elsewhere. Two people working on a busy morning. Enjoyed my matcha latte though a bit over powered by the milk and less of the matcha taste. Not sure what type of matcha they use or if enough was used. Note they do charge $1 for any of the alternative milks like soy, oat or almond. Bakery items are made in house according to them. Limited seating with a counter at the open window and a few small tables inside.

Milli Cafe is a clean and modern cafe, fairly poppin' in the mornings with people catching up over breakfast. I stopped by while waiting for some friends at SFO, craving a matcha latte but not expecting much. While this isn't exactly an authentic, hand-whisked matcha, it was okay. It was an iced sweet drink that did its job. Overall though? the service was sweet and the space was clean.

Very relaxing open airy ambience. My son and I enjoyed breakfast and drinks here. Their match drinks are great. Friendly staff.

Cute modern cafe on broadway street. Definitely one of the rare cafes in this area. Limited seating inside but very spacious. We tried the mocha and matcha latte and both drinks were okay. Not super strong flavors and a little watered down but it will do if you just want a drink while studying or chatting.

5.50 for a Gibraltar but tasted good! The place has street parking around but it can take a few mins to find parking around there as there's a lot of businesses around. The service was super fast and the place is quiet and work/study friendly!

Millbrae has been lacking a solid coffee shop for awhile so when Milli opened up it was a welcome addition to the downtown. Decided to stop in on a rainy morning and order a dirty chai and a matcha latte. The dirty chai was excellent but the matcha fell flat. The outside and inside were really nice I'm a sucker for tile but it wasn't a space I would want to spend a long time in. I would recommend coming here for coffee/espresso drinks just skip the matcha.

Got the Bumble bee (orange juice with espresso) and matcha latte. Daughter was disappointed when they added more milk to top off her matcha as it diluted the flavor. I asked for light ice for my bumble bee drink. When I got my drink I told the barista that I had asked for light ice. She said she would scoop out some ice and top it off. I said no as I didn't want to change the flavor of the drink if she is just adding other things to too it off. There was way too much orange juice in this drink and it made the drink taste bitter. Also I noticed that both of our drinks were $6.50 but was charged $7 for each drink. We didn't add it substitute anything so not sure what the extra charge per drink was for. Was hopeful for a new coffee place in Millbrae. Maybe they are new and still figuring things out but hopeful they can improve their drinks and customer experience. read more

I was so happy when Milli opened up very nice place. When I entered the coffee shop there was a barista who barely said hello. She was the only person working but the place only had 2 other people. I ordered a hot mocha and it was awful!!! It did not taste like a mocha actually it had no taste. The mocha came in a very small cup for $6.80. I wanted to ask for my money back but I did not want to be rude. I won't go back there. read more

I've gotten the matcha latte and matcha tonic here and I really enjoyed both. It's nice to have a non-chain spot in Millbrae. -1 star because even though the drinks are good the 3 times I've come here service wasn't that friendly/baristas just seemed off? The last time I went in, I walked in, said hi, and both baristas continued talking to each other for another minute before turning around to take my order. Felt awkward, especially since there wasn't anyone else in line or in the shop. read more

It was a random visit to this newer cafe in the area instead of going to my regular spot. There were people enjoying the cafe and the cafe itself was bright with high ceiling. Two Batista were on shift and seemed to be behind on drinks. One of tbe Batista gave a cup of coffee drink to another custom on one side of the bar next to the coffee machine then when it was my turn, the latte was on the opposite side of the counter which was confusing. Dirty dishes were by the counter as well next to the condiments. $8 for a small cup of March latte with Almond milk remained to be a bit too pricy for the quality received. read more

The service is terrible. The girl that took my order looked like she hated being there. No expression and barley said anything to me. The $7.50 matcha latte she made me was terrible. I was there closer to closing time and there was a lot of slamming and flopping around as she cleaned up. It felt like I was in someone's house that didn't want me there. Not returning. read more

Awesome little cafe. Had the chai and a scone. The chai tea was good and not too sweet. The scone was warm and buttery, delicious! The baristas were super friendly. Will definitely be back to try some of the other flavors. read more

Beautiful new addition to Millbrae! I've visited twice and tried their Uji matcha latte as well as the Havana cap and hot chocolate. LOVED ALL THE DRINKS! Espresso was strong and they use Ritual's light roast which is the best ever!! Everything was tasty, I love that they bake their pastries in house. The leek pastry and blueberry scones are to die for! Staff is super nice and knowledgeable .. not sure what all the others are complaining about .. maybe have a bit patience and be more openminded? Americano was unpleasant to my tastebuds. Matcha tasted like milk, no matcha tasted. This is like bobatime in LA. Windows were open which is a neat concept, but it's a wind tunnel and it's too cold. It took too long to for them to make an americano and matcha that it's baffling to me. read more

Service was slow as there was only one person working on 5 orders on a Saturday morning, with the Millbrae Farmer's Market across the street. Will not be coming back here again as their workflow has not changed since they opened and through previous visits. read more

Finally after several months of walking by this space on my way home wondering what is was going to be and when would it open, this weekend I was pleasantly surprised to see people inside and looking like they were enjoying the ambience. I walked in and instantly felt comfortable and excited to try thier coffee. I ordered the matcha coconut latte. It did not disappoint! I sat down and enjoyed it there while taking in the warm atmosphere and modern decor. I look forward to visiting again soon. read more

Overrated, overpriced, and underwhelmed. Went in there today cuz I was in the area. Decided to go with a matcha coconut latte. The barista asked me what milk I wanted and I said coconut and she said oh no the coconut in the latte is just coconut powder and they didn't have coconut milk. Oooook fine. But then I was looking at the register and she charged me $7.50, but their sign read $6.80 and I asked her why she charged me $7.50. She said oh the sign isn't updated and I said oh well can you change the price because that is kind of like false advertising. She just shrugged and said oh I'll tell my manager. Ummm oooook I guess. I didn't want to make a bigger fuss over $0.70 so I paid. When I got my drink, it looked like a 10 but tasted like a 5. Will not be going back or recommending. PLEASE STOP BEING LAZY OR CHEAP OR BOTH AND UPDATE YOUR SIGNAGE. read more

Fantastic place to enjoy morning/afternoon for coffee lovers! Nice and clean interior design, simplicity color-way yet grand and comfy! Their coffee craft and bean used are both top of the line. I enjoy every club of their coffee and drink as the baristas put in effort in every cup and topped with great coffee art on the foam. Highly recommended!! Love it! read more

Cute little cafe that serves good coffee and fresh pastries baked in-house. I especially love that they allow dogs inside! Definitely a nice addition to Millbrae. I was getting bored of PEET's and Starbucks. I'll definitely be back to try different drinks and pastries. read more

Next time, I'd like to try their seasonal drink, Guava Matcha Latte with a cream top! They also carry baked goods from Neighbor bakery in SF. We loved the Ube twice baked croissant! This one does taste like the actual purple yam which is a plus. I want to come back for this again. Overall, we enjoyed this coffee shop and what it offers. It's the best coffee shop in town!

Theirs have that perfect silky, jiggly custard and buttery crust that makes you want to go back immediately. Suzanne's is fine for a quick fix, but if you can make the trip, skip this and head to GG Bakery instead. Solid neighborhood spot if you're lazy like me and want something nearby, but don't expect it to blow your mind.

The Spam Musubi had a great spam-to-rice ratio imo (very important lol) with decent amount of sauce. Meanwhile, the Chicken Empanada was fresh, hot, and packed with flavorful shredded chicken. The moment you walk in, you can feel the welcoming vibe - cozy, modern, and perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet cup of coffee. The coffee is top-notch (Ritual) and their signature Bumblebee is already a favorite of ours. The staff is incredibly friendly and genuinely passionate about what they do, which makes the experience even better. Came in a few days back and had to write a review. Noticed the man serving me had meta glasses (first red flag); I've worked in the coffee industry for a years upon end and his customer service was not up to par. Lastly, the sound the milk made when steaming was perceivably high pitched leading to a foamy mess (whole milk btw). Weird service and bad technical skills do not coexist in an environment that I would spend my money. Safe to say Milli cafe has not found its groove where it once had promising footing.
