Was so sad to see that there were no masks being worn by any of the staff...not only the servers but also in the kitchen. Made me feel very uncomfortable. I had high hopes for Millie's based on the reviews, but they fell way short of impressive. Let's start with the positives: 1. Very clean and cute country decor. 2. Delicious cinnamon roll. 3. The bus boys (men) were extremely attentive, quickly turned tables over and were the ones who actually said have a great day to me. Annnnnnd...that's it unfortunately. I got seated quickly but it took a lil over 5 minutes to get greeted by my waitress. As I sat there ( throughout my entire dining experience) I observed a waitress serve her tables without cracking a single smile. Even when her customers said hello and smiled she just turned away. This place has really gone downhill. The ceiling tiles are falling out and our booth was falling apart. Also, our waitress was extremely rude. The food is just okay. I've been going here for 15 years so it makes me sad to leave this review but it doesn't make sense for a restaurant not to be updated when they do so much business. We started out our morning by "Yelping" to find a good breakfast spot. We are very picky and usually only select a restaurant with a 4 or 5 average. Millies came with a high rating so we tried it. We have visited Florida for many years and breakfast is always a challenge. Millies proved to be everything stated. We had the traditional breakfast of eggs and bacon with all the trimmings. Went for breakfast this morning and had probably the worst service and food we have experienced in almost 8 years. From placing our order to receiving our food took over 30 minutes, The bacon was cold and greasy and the eggs lukewarm. The potatoes were the only hot item on the plate. We live in Sarasota so we're year round customers and while snowbirds might be good for business, there sheer numbers have become very annoying. We will hold off on any future visits. read more

I liked this place though we only ordered the omelettes. I think they could have been made softer and fluffier if they had mixed the eggs with milk and aerated them. The ingredients were thick and heavy and I order the Greek omelette. The sausage may have been a little overwhelming but it was otherwise a hughmongous omeletter that took up half the plate. The grits were nicely done and the English muffins were good, too. The coffee could have been stronger but after all, it was not Starbucks. It is a popular place and we had to wait at 1030am but it cleared out after a while. The omelettes were $7-8.50 and were worth it. Coffee was $2+ and a bottomless cup. Driving on Clark Road I turned and saw this really quaint place. It just felt right so I turned in. I was happy I did! I was thinking I had made a discovery. Little did I know it is a classic standard of Sarasota! Beautiful setting that reminds me of an upscale Atlanta Eatery with gracious furnishings, beautiful shades of blue that reminds me of Wedgewood, unique table settings and fun/classic art with a friendly and welcoming staff. The menu is pure breakfast and lunch - and I wanted it all! I settled on one of my standards... Club sandwich. It's how I normally rate a place. Initially I wanted coleslaw in order not to have more starch than I should, but they were out - so I had to have the french fries. Oh Lord! Cooked to perfection. The sandwich itself had very crispy bacon that was not overpowering of the turkey. Just the right amount ratio of lettuce to sandwich and the tomato was firm and tasty. A table sitting next to me all turned and saw my dish and immediately were jealous. But they were "old timers" of the place and encouraged me to return for the breakfast. No doubt, I will! The cons are the wait can be long, their staff can sometimes be rude, and their not family friendly. There is NOT a changing table in their bathroom though their IS room for one. My son nearly fell head first into the trash hole between the sinks when I needed to change him in an emergency and couldn't run him to the car like I usually do. We come to this place all the time and the food is excellent. Today we had a really bad experience and will no longer will be coming here. We had some questions about the specials for the waitress and she said rudely let me get your drink orders first. After we told her our drinks we asked some questions and she was rushing us. I got so frustrated I just ordered a BLT. My one friend forgot to order bacon because she hurried us. We asked gor a refill on our drinks and more mayo when our food came. The waitress slammed down the mayo and never brought our drinks. I went and asked someone to give us water and she never came. I had to go and help myself to the water pitcher. She never came and asked how we we're doing and so I had to go and refill her coffee beacuse the waitress was mia. We go out to eat once a week and come here alot. We will go elsewhere. We will miss the food because its amazing however the service is not that great. Im in the industry so I'm more sensitive towatds servers but this was just ridiculous. I usually tip 30 percent today she will not get a dime from me. My first time never leaving a tip. I feel bad but her behavior was uncalled for. read more

The CUTEST little breakfast spot! Reminds me of my grandmother's living room when sitting in the dining room, cute wallpaper and curtains. It was pretty packed but we were seated in under 10 minutes. Three of us had coffee, tea, and orange juice, followed by french toast, blueberry pancakes, biscuits and gravy, with sides of bacon, eggs, and potatoes. It was Sunday morning about 10am or so, and the place was busy. However, our wait was only about 15 minutes. Service was good, and the food was generous and tasty. Total bill for 3 at $33 plus tip. It's a popular spot for a few reasons: 1) The atmosphere is comfy cosy grandma's house, what could be better? 2) the food quality is better than normal 3) Best of all, we lucked into getting Nancy as our waitress. She provided the suggestions & information that you won't see on the menu, such as their pancake mix is especially good because it comes from a special place in Miami, not the bulk food supplier. Indeed their pancakes are tender & delicious. She suggested their omlettes and also recommended the German Apple pancakes if you can wait for their goodness. Best breakfast burrito ive ever had and that is my go to option whenever i eat breakfast out. Also if you are a fan of iced tea their's is very strong and good regular or sweetened atmosphere is very cozy and grandma like. it does get very busy in the afternoon so if you have a large group either call ahead and ask or go early! Many of the waiting staff are also very grandma like and i mean that in the best way possible. I have been here several times and every time it is so delicious. The pancakes are amazing! I could eat them everyday. They are also always served fresh and hot which is important. Food was very good, typical breakfast food done very well. Service was good and breakfast was served with a smile. My husband had french toast which was good however maple syrup was an extra charge. I had a fresh vegetable omelete which was very tasty. The server was accomodating and kept the coffee coming without having to ask for more. read more
