Can't say anything bad about this place. There was a 25 minute wait, but now I know why. Once seated the service was great. Everything was served fresh and hot,and quickly,considering how busy this place was. The veggie omelet was chuck filled with all the good stuff,the potatoes were crispy and delicious. We split 1 biscuit with gravy, just to try some,it was awesome. Got an omlett so full of onions you would have thought it was the largest ingredient! And the onions were not cooked-not a great thing in an omelette. Adorable little place with amazing food and even better service. We stopped her twice on our vacation and both times we were treated with superb service, both times our waitresses were so kind and took care of us like family. The food was prepared super fast and was a delicious, old fashioned home cooked breakfast. The waitress on our first visit was an absolute sweetheart who made sure our cups were always full and that we had everything we needed. Sadly we don't remember her name but she was amazing. The waitress on our second visit, Donna, was hands down the best waitress we've ever had anywhere. It was a much busier day than our previous visit and she was working her ass off. Even with all the tables she had she still made sure we were taken care of and we cannot thank her enough. She definitely puts the customers first. If we ever come back to FL we will definitely stop by again. This place was one of the best stops on our trip. read more

Millies is one of my family's favorite brunch. They provides lunch and breakfast. It usually is so packed on Sunday. Pancake is great.

Millies is a pleasant surprise in a sea of breakfast-lunch restaurants. The décor is subdued but very lovely. I especially want to compliment the waitress unfortunately I didn't get her name. I was there on Tuesday 7/11 around noon. I had the smoked salmon plate. The vegetables and salmon were fresh and flavorful. My only remark is the bagel isn't up to snuff. Coming from Pennsylvania and New Jersey I expect a better quality bagel. My friend had the blueberry stuffed French toast which she said was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for breakfast to lunch. I will go back again. read more

Food was okay. I thought portions were a nice size for the price. There were 5 of us meeting there for work social. None of us will be back. The manager was completely rude. We witness him telling a new mother with baby to hurry up and eat because people waiting for table. This place is flocked with snow birds. Not a good place for people under 70. We had a large group of 50 ladies at Millie's today for Afternoon High Tea. It was fabulous and a good time was had by all of us. The food was fantastic, and if you are gluten free, they can accommodate that, too. My plate of gluten free goodies was just as yummy as the regular treats. We had a delicious breakfast at Millie's. After reading some of the reviews, we expected slow, indifferent servers and a decor in need of updating. We received our coffee right after being seated, and our stuffed French toast was served in under 10 minutes (yes, it was busy). Our waitress had the right mix of being friendly but, unlike some restaurant servers, wasn't so friendly that we felt like she wanted to join us. Our party of three had a late breakfast at this bustling breakfast-and-lunch-only restaurant on Dec. 28, 2012. We chose a 'Country Breakfast' (2 eggs, 2 pancakes and bacon -but there are options), 'French pancakes' (actually crepes) with orange liqueur and 'Millie's Special Sandwich,'featuring grilled ham, Swiss cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. All our selections were delicious, especially the superb buttermilk pancakes. Fortunately, the table service was fast and friendly, (although the young hostesses at the front desk need to put some smiles on their faces). The orange juice was good, the coffee was OK (we prefer it a bit stronger), the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. Definitely good for families. This is a great place to have breakfast. Yes, there was a crowd waiting to be seated and we had to wait about 20 minutes but it is worth the wait. Crowd moves rather fast. Loved the old decor and general ambience of the place. My recommendation is to try Country Breakfast with buttermilk pancakes. The French toast is delicious too. Both pancakes and toasts are fluffy and light. Love their own syrup. Added too, the bacon is just crisp, link sausages soft not too salty but juicy. Eggs I had better in Hilton Head breakfast joint but this was not bad. For me to rave about it, the yolk has to have that taste of an yolk and golden thick color that flows like a lava. read more

Went to Millie's today for the first time. Blueberry pancakes where huge with blueberry syrup. Very good. Also ham & cheese omelet had a lot of ham and very filling. Overall the atmosphere was great, like visiting grandma's house. Only complaint was more of a distraction... we sat near the hostess stand and spent a lot of time watching the hostess playing with her hair, necklace, reapplying lip gloss, and readjusting the red bra under her white blouse... She seemed to have nothing to do other than stand around while everyone else seemed to be rushing to keep the full restaurant served. read more

I always look forward to eating at Millie's Restaurant, as it is not only consistent, but maybe a Sarasota institution. Today was no exception. We (my daughter and I) arrived at about 10:30AM and were seated within 15 minutes. We waited to be greeted as the table next to us, all seniors, were seated after us, but were promptly greeted. No problem. When the server arrived, a mid thirty-ish blonde, we were ready to order. Two omelettes and coffee and water. Food was delivered by a manager type guy later. He was accommodating and got me ketchup, almost immediately. Food was good and cooked to perfection. But then it started to happen. The blonde server checked on us quite rapidly, first asking if we were ok, then if needed anything to if we were done. The two tables that were seated before and after us were nowhere near done. In other words, the server needed to relax. Great food. Great atmosphere...kinda loud, but hey server, remember to treat the easy customers, not so expeditiously! read more

Millie's has always been a favorite of mine and my families. We've been going here for a few years now. I don't get to go much anymore but I sure do miss it! Best pancakes in Sarasota hands down.
