He had toast and I a tortilla. Bam the carne adovada was tender and delicious, eggs cooked perfectly over easy. My buddy loved the Huevos. Excellent meal. The only criticism was the tortilla was a store bought thin version not complimentary of the meal it was served with. By far the worst experience I've had here. Took one hr between placing order and finally starting meal. No one ever came by table to let us know status of order or why it was taking longer than normal. When it did show up, the server said 'the rellenos are handmade and so that's why it took longer to make your meal' WTH do we look dumb? After food came out, server never came back to table to check on us so we had to get up and ask for refills at counter. Next time, offer a free cinnamon roll or pie to customers that you're making wait much longer than you should. read more

Good food, fast service, private parking lot. I'm pretty positive they serve Peyton's Beef Chorizo. You don't understand - this is my #1 favorite Chorizo of all time. I grew up with it. We would smuggle that stuff from El Paso back to New Jersey because they didn't sell Peyton's in NJ. I ordered a side of chorizo with my eggs instead of bacon/ham and oh my - what a nice surprise! Notice the single cold Sysco tortilla? It tasted as manufactured as it looks. Not a fun way to start my Saturday ... In need of breakfast after a night shift. Since it's on the way home Milly's sounded like a good idea. Based on their hours definitely a breakfast/brunch/lunch place. Not many people as we grab a seat and wait for our server. Coffee and hot chocolate for starters then Greek Omelet with hash browns and a Mexican omelet with home fries. Both omelets were tasted good and came loaded with veggies & meat. The ingredients were mixed in the egg, versus being in the center of a folded egg. Not bad - just different. I'm shocked at how disappointed I was with this place after being loyal for so long. There's too much on the menu that I couldn't even find my usual food. Then the young new girl who originally took our order, disappeared after clarifying with me to get the pork souvlaki instead of the chicken. They delivered a chicken breast on the Greek salad instead (which was a different option on the menu) but not what I ordered. My mistake was sending it back. I'm not sure what I got back, but it was half a Greek salad and half a fajita salad. The dressing and what I assume was the souvlaki and the dolmas made it greek. The random grilled bell peppers and onions made it fajita style. It was too weird. And the pork was terrible meat selection, all fat and chewy. But the lady had semi yell explained earlier that souvlaki was new and the menu was new so I didn't want to bring it up. I have been going to Milly's for about 30 years, starting at the Candelaria location, every Thursday for years. I switched locations, to Jefferson, because of a job change and all I can say is that their kitchen is one of the most consistent I've seen. Love the food, like meeting friends, who also eat there. Order whatever you feel like, you won't be disappointed. I have exactly one complaint: they no longer have those amazing brownies at the checkout counter. read more

My experience at this place was far from what I had hoped for. I ordered a turkey sandwich, but it arrived soggy, with brown avocado, and cold French fries. Beyond the disappointing food, I was troubled by what I observed in the kitchen. The cooks were openly arguing with the waitresses on the front line, which is never a good sign for a restaurant's atmosphere. Additionally, the ladies working the registers were eating their meals right on the front line, which seemed unprofessional. What bothered me the most was witnessing the cook drop the chicken fried steak on the counter, the waitress picking it up and placing it back in the plate with their bare hands and served it. They were walking outside to witness the eclipse which I had no problem with. But did not wash their hands upon return. This lack of hygiene and the overall disorganization in the restaurant left me with a less than pleasant dining experience, even though I had high hopes for the place. I hate writing less than desirable reviews, but I had to with this place. Especially at a place when a few people recommended it. Hopefully it was just a bad day. My husband and I decided to visit Milly's on Candelaria this morning for breakfast. My husband and I agreed that out of all the New Mexican breakfast places we frequent, Milly's ranked last. For me, I had Milly's breakfast. It was packed with plenty of chile, meat, and cheese, but unfortunately the chile really missed the mark. Red tasted nothing like every red chile sauce I've had growing up here in ABQ and felt oddly sweet to me. I got Christmas and was very disappointed by the red and accepting of the green, but both made my dish... not something I wanted to finish. 5/10 My husband had the bacon cheeseburger. He described the burger patty as having a boiled flavor and said that the patty was much smaller than the bun. On top of that, he got one slice of bacon, not even halved, on his burger. The fries he got were breaded, which he doesn't like, so he ranked those low as well. 3/10 Overall I don't think we will be returning to Milly's with so many better options out there. read more

Jimmy's Cafe down the street (1 min drive) we could have went there, got our food, and eaten it by the time we finally got our food here. Waitress also seemed confused when I showed her the check in offer for free cookie and said just show the front. Food was not worth the wait, got the breakfast burrito as a baseline to compare to other places. It was not good. Tortilla was definitely store bought, like mission or something. Smaller than Jimmy's, not as packed as Jimmy's, not as good as Jimmy's. Green and red sauce were ok, but again, the green sauce is 10x better at Jimmy's. It's also more expensive than Jimmy's overall. Fiancee got the skillet with chicken sausage, which she said also wasn't great. Parking is bad, not enough, people parking in the bank parking lots on either side of them. When checking out and trying to get the check in offer, lady simply said "we're out of cookies" and turned away. No offer of alternate. Such a waste, not sure how they're as busy as they are. For the wait and the food, I wouldn't come back. Go to Jimmy's down the road or Vic's. You'll thank me later. read more

SO and I went to millys a few weeks ago. We didn't stay. We waited for service, were not even acknowledged but tables around us (who came in after us) were greeted AND served food. So we left. Even then no one noticed. I like the green chile there and we wanted NM food. So we were hoping they just had an off day. Prior to that visit their wait staff were awesome. Servers came around with coffee or just to check on us. We went again today at about noon. We were surprised at all the empty parking spots. Milly's is usually packed. So one bad experience doesn't mean it's always that way so we went again today, Monday September 30. Again we were not acknowledged. I caught the server's eye so she had to tell me she would return shortly. She didn't. But she did come. Took our order, delivered it and that's the last we saw of her. I had to ask the person cleaning tables for more coffee. In the past the servers circulated among the tables. No longer. But they do congregate at the counter, chatting and I saw one taking a selfie. Where is management? Who is training the servers. The food, as much as we like it, doesn't compensate for lousy service. We won't be back. The food is just as good at other places. We also won't be recommending them any more. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We wondered why the place was so empty at lunch time, maybe this is part of the problem.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Maybe we are a drop in the bucket for money spent but can any business afford to alienate repeat customers? I've visited here many times with coworkers for lunch. The service has always come with a smile and has been speedy. They always take our drink order as soon as we sit down. They ask for our meal order within minutes. The menu is laminated and easy to read, breakfast on one side and brunch/lunch on the other. The clientele is mostly older folks, and the meals are large, with no frills. Food prices are cheap. You can find artwork from local artists on the walls. The bathrooms and tables are always clean and spotless. This visit I came for breakfast with a former co-worker. I ordered two over medium eggs with three strips of bacon, hashbrowns, and sourdough toast. All this food was only $6.25. Hashbrowns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the eggs had a runny yolk and firm whites, and the sourdough was nicely toasted. The bacon was long, thick and crispy. All this food had great flavor and filled me up. My former co-worker bought me breakfast. I know I'll be back here over and over for a filling meal with great service. I totally overlooked this place and am glad a friend suggested we come here for breakfast! A cute mom and pop environment that has super friendly service. You seat yourself, have a variety of meal options, and the customer service checks on you often (but not too often that you can't eat your food without answering their check-ins). I ordered the breakfast tacos with a side of fruit. Two thumbs up for the tacos! My friend ordered the huevos rancheros and they were totes on point with the chile, and they use corn tortillas! We ordered a side of French toast thanks to the lady sitting next to us who didn't know we were eyeing her plate but felt drawn to order French toast thanks to her. The sandwich I had today would earn itself negative stars. I ordered the Santa Fe chicken sandwich. The cheese wasn't even melted all the way to start. After taking the first bite of what in the past has been a good grilled chicken breast, I noticed the cook must have forgot to season the chicken and then forgot that it was on the burner! It is EXTREMELY bland and way overcooked. One of the worst chicken sandwiches I have had! Overcooked chicken breast is the WORST! At least the fries were good!
