chicken pesto pasta ($27) - i love everything about this bowl of PESTO; from the pasta type to the flavor, it is everything i expected a simple pesto pasta to be - the shape is trottole, which became one of my favorite because it's thick and chewy, holds the sauce exceptionally well - the crazy ingredient is the pine nuts! Not many places have them in the dish; pine nuts add a subtle piney notes and faint forest aroma that i am a big fan of - the portion size is crazy too; with generous amount of chicken, i was full just half a bowl in - while the noodles can be even more chewy and the sauce a bit less heavy and oily, the quality is there and flavor hits the spot wild shrimp scampi ($20) - Super jumbo bouncy shrimp i love the quality and the chew - heavy on the garlic, herb butter, and squeeze of lemon ! Great flavors but could be a bit heavy as a starter - comes with grilled bread which was nicely toasted and crunchy, pairs perfect with the garlicky n buttery shrimp funghi pizza ($24) - a basic mushroom pizza that didn't really stand out - it was good but the truffle oil was a bit too strong for my liking and not in a pleasant way; it makes sense though because truffle oil will always come off stronger and different than actual truffle slices being freshly grated on top - the crust wasn't memorable and the flavor was average, so i wouldn't personally recommend this rating: 4.7/5 - i know this is a corporate spot and a chain but it is honestly so good if you just want something simple, easy, and reliable... they have it all - the ambiance could feel a bit upscale but still comfortable and casual - the service was OUTSTANDING! From wine tasting and giving recommendations, to serving food, our waiter did an amazing job accommodating us yay; he literally went above and beyond into splitting my pasta bowl into two, knowing i was gonna share it with my friend IG: @nom.noms.only

The restaurant was on my "to try list". The reservations were fairly simple and once we showed up, we were seated right away. The restaurant offers plenty of seating space inside as well as outside. Our server was really attentive and suggested items from the menu that are popular as well as some of the entrees that are loved by staff. Calamari Fritti was a different spin on a traditional calamari. It was fried with a batter that was a little sweet. The lemon wedge helped cut the sweetness. The two sauces provided a nice touch. Seared scallops were delicious and cooked perfectly. The bed of sweet corn risotto accompanied the protein well. The crispy shallots were a miss, for me. They were bitter. Roasted salmon entree was good. The fish was cooked well and the pesto pasta was good. Overall, the restaurant was a good choice for a delicious meal. The service is great and ambiance completes the dinner.

Stopped by North Italia for an early lunch and had a great experience. The space is beautiful--plenty of seating, a large bar, and a really inviting outdoor patio. We grabbed seats at the bar and Max took great care of us. Service was attentive without being overbearing. We shared the seasonal burrata, fungi pizza, and beet with chicken salad--everything was excellent. The standout was definitely the pizza. Some of the best I've had in recent memory--thin, perfectly cooked, and just really well done. Will absolutely be back.

We had an amazing experience celebrating a birthday at North Italia in Santa Monica! We really loved the ambiance, and one of the coolest parts of the ambiance is the visible open kitchen, where you can watch the chefs work their magic and see the fresh dough rising. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and beautifully plated, including the margherita pizza, the roasted salmon, the heirloom beet and chicken salad, and the roasted artichoke. They also have great options for kids, and both kids' meals were a hit. What really stood out was our warm, friendly server, who took extra care to accommodate a severe nut allergy in our party, making us feel completely safe. To top off a wonderful lunch, they brought out complimentary bombolini with a candle for the birthday celebration. Highly recommend!

Just so happened to stumble in after leaving the pier and trying to find something for a group of 4, with 1 vegan. This was a great experience. Our server was amazing throughout the night. It's a large restaurant, very nicely decorated. Everything we ate was amazing. I also tried the calamari and pina no colada, not pictured. It was great. Really enjoyed my pasta, and everyone at the table had a great meal. The vegan said this was the best pasta she has had.

Came back twice, and even though the service is pretty great, the food is a bit inconsistent. I get the same thing every time, which is the chicken pesto without cream. Each time, has been different. The first time was the best, rich flavor with a tang of lemon. Last time was sort of watery and runny. Another time, it was too lemon-y. I understand the modification of not adding cream may be something the staff isn't used to, but I would hope ingredients or measured out to be consistent. Consistency is super important to me because I want to be able to enjoy a meal and bring friends and family and feel excited to receive a great meal at the same standards each time. The ambience and service make the dining experience great, but I wish the food was more consistent.

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty these two dishes were? The cavatelli had a lot of shrimp and crab in it with a strong seafood taste, which I didn't mind, but it was a bit on the oily side. The truffle garlic bread was also really good!! Buttery, garlicky, and truffly but it wasn't hot when it arrived /: The service was good, they checked in on the table a decent bit and the interior is nice as well.

Love North Italia, been going here for years. Usually go to the one in El Segundo but this location was still super nice. Love the food & aesthetics !

Wow, so happy I finally got to check this place out! We came here for my niece's birthday and were able to snag a last-minute reservation. We waited a few minutes for our full party to arrive before being seated at a table near the back by the kitchen. I ordered the spicy vodka rigatoni and it definitely had a nice kick to it! Our waiter was super helpful and recommended a few appetizers to start since it was our first time visiting. The staff was also incredibly sweet for storing my niece's cake in the fridge and bringing it out when we sang happy birthday. This spot is very family-friendly, and the portions are generous enough to share while still being a solid serving for one person. I also didn't realize they have a Walnut Creek location, which is much closer to me, so I'll definitely have to check that one out next time!

    Seasonal vegetable salad was perfection

Our server, Summer, made our first visit extra special. She was cheery, engaging and made thoughtful recommendations. The restaurant was a bit cavernous with lots of tables, but many live plants softened the walls. We started with the hot honey and prosciutto pizza. The crust was pleasantly crispy, but I wish there was more prosciutto. The seasonal salad was a knock out! Delicious crisp veggies including corn, pea pods and asparagus in a green goddess dressing was a perfect 10! The bolognese was also delicious with fresh pappardelle pasta and a meaty sauce. Sunday Night Lasagna was rich, creamy and so flavorful. Food and service were outstanding. I look forward to eating here again.

    Black Mediterranean Mussels highly recommend!!!

I had a great time here last night and absolutely loved every dish that we ordered! Our experience at this restaurant started off slow. There were two extremely large parties of almost 20 sitting next to us and the servers seemed a little stress. We were not helped for about 10 minutes until I flagged down a server but after that, our experience was amazing. The server was absolutely the kindest and one of the most animated servers I've had. He was really excited about the food and said that we ordered some of the best dishes in the restaurant. Supposedly the white truffle garlic bread and the bolognese were the best dishes on the menu so we got those! The food began to come out about 15 minutes after ordering but I'm not complaining because the food was so good. Our server was absolutely right! The white truffle garlic bread was SO delicious. It came out really hot and the bread was cooked perfectly. It was so crunchy and the ricotto and mozzarella added a whole nother level to this appetizer. We also ordered the black mediterranean mussels and my god, I was so impressed with this. I'm usually not a huge fan of seafood but these mussels had such an amazing taste. Very minimal fishy taste which is what I don't like. It has pieces of salami in it too that I think added to the taste of the white wine and garlic butter sauce that the mussels were cooked in. For our entrees, we got the spicy meatball pizza which also was SOOO good. I was a huge fan of the ricotta and mozzarella and loved the sausage that they use. Again, we also got the bolognese which was the "house specialty" according to the menu. While this dish was really good, it wasn't as good as the other ones ordered; honestly, that was fine though given the extremely high expectations I already had. I think what made it a little disappointing was that it was slightly "too" al dente. The dough of the noodles were very chewy, but the taste was good! Overall, very impressed. Thank you for a great experience. Somewhat expensive though but worth it. Shoutout to Eddie F. for being such a great server!

The Pig Pizza (not shown, "bomba style")
    Emily H.

The restaurant is really nice, it's a bit dark inside so it feels a bit intimate. You can see the kitchen, which is also cool. Staff are a bit nonchalant, but do their job well otherwise. I do appreciate how they do their best to accommodate for allergies (one of our party has soy and dairy allergy). Personally, I wouldn't come back though. I was disappointed with the food. The plating was nice, but the pasta wasn't very flavorful and I felt like it didn't have enough sauce. Also, bomba style pizza comes with just a side of ricotta cheese (or some similar cheese), not sure why that costs $5 more, doesn't feel worth it. We should have asked what it was beforehand, but we assumed it was a stuffed crust or something of the like. The area is nice, so the high prices are understandable but the taste of the food doesn't meet expectations.

    Inside
    Aileen H.

I came here last night for dinner. The ambiance was open and modern. The inside was very spacious. This used to be the old Buca di Beppo and North Italia really opened up the space and exposed the high ceiling. I ordered the following: 1. Steamed mussels with bucatini - Since they didn't have clam linguine which was what I wanted, my waitress smartly suggested I do this customization of adding pasta to their steamed mussels made in a garlic buttery wine sauce. I appreciated the customization. I was charged $12 extra for the noddles. This dish also came with grilled bread. The grilled country bread was thick and tasty. 2. Hazelnut tart This was very dry. It had good chocolate flavor. The gelato it came with was delicious. I asked for the pistachio gelato which was another customization and that was creamy and the nuts provided a nice crunch. 3. Ice tea The ice tea tasted house-made and fresh. I would get it again. Overall, the food wasn't bad. Service was good. Good ambiance.

Are dogs allowed in the patio?

When I was there I saw someone with a dog on the outside patio/bar so I'm assuming yes.

Which is better, indoor dining or patio? Ambience wise

At first I was a little upset that we were unable to sit outside on the patio but once we got inside I realized the inside ambience it's a lot nicer, so, inside!

    Do you use 00 flour?

    No they use semolina. Sorry.

    Can I go without reservation?

    Yes

Do you have dairy free options?

Hi Britni! Yes, we have quite a few dairy options! We make every dish, to order, so we are always happy to accommodate any modifications or allergies.…

Does the meat sauce have pork in it?

Hi Walt! Yes our Bolognese meat sauce does have pork. Our Spaghetti and Meatballs, however, are all beef. Thank you!

What kind of meat is the bolognese made with?

Hi there! Our bolognese is a three meat sauce, ground beef, Italian sausage and prosciutto.

Can they make dishes vegan friendly?

Please contact the restaurant manager. She us very informed about dietary needs.

Is it appropriate for family with 3 year old? Table for 8 including child?

The restaurant is very family oriented, I went with my 14 & 17 year.old daughters and sat outside and had a great experience. That size party you should call ahead and reserve

Greeted by our very kind waiter, we were served the most delicious toasted bread, butter(s) and rock salt from La Boulangerie. As a film nut, of course I ordered the Cinema Paradiso, this is a very imaginative cocktail recipe, like a an Old Fashioned but with a movie theater twist, kindly served with a pinch of candy kettle-corn at our table by the mixologist herself; what a playful and tasty delight! For starters, we are ordered the Mini-French-Onion Grilled Cheese and Hamachi Crudo. Both absolutely delicious. The Hamachi Crudo Leche de Tigre sauce is beyond perfect. The balance of flavors between charriness of the bread and melted cheeses, and tangy onion soup dip...just wow. Then the steak! Accompanied by a delicious Châteauneuf-du-Pape, we shared between two, a perfectly cooked (medium rare of course, don't be basic) N.Y. Strip (au poivre sauce on the side) with au gratin, and it came with nice little on the vine roasted tomatoes and a little leafy salad...like I told Chef when he came to our table post meal: "INCROYABLE!". Every-Single-Bite!! But, aside every dish being perfect and the service being above and beyond, what literally brought me to tears was the dessert. I haven't had "floating islands" since my mom used to make it many, many moons ago (unfortunately ma is now at early dementia), and when I tasted my first spoonful here, I couldn't hold back the tears, memories flooded and complimented by the preceding meal which was perfect...too many feels. Merci Beaucoup! For a VERY special culinary experience to all at La Monique. Please don't change a thing. I rarely ever make the effort to write a review, but this is very much worth every second. We'll be coming back for sure. Feel like I just discovered fire.

This is completely unacceptable and feels like fraud. To make things worse, the food was completely average -- nothing special at all and definitely not worth the prices they charge. I would strongly advise others to double-check their receipts and statements after visiting this restaurant.

Parking: They have an adjacent paid parking lot though metered street parking is cheaper since they unfortunately don't validate. Ambiance: Really gorgeous inside, with high arced wooden beam ceilings, natural light through skylights, romantic dim lighting, candles, lots of potted trees for greenery, and velvet seating to add elegance. Even the plates are worth admiring. They have a nice patio with heat lamps for cooler evenings as well. I absolutely love the vibes for date night. I have eaten here four times now and have a reservation ready for my fifth. The menu changes EVERY WEEK and the fact that the ingredients are so seasonal, and the chef really seems to takes pride and passion in creating different dishes so often, keeps me coming back each time. They have done specials from Sunday Night $35 7-course omakase to 50% off Neighborhood Patio nights to $65 for two 4-course date nights and the quality is so worth it. I even came by for an art class hosted on the patio since they hold multiple community events, including sports watch parties. The best yellowtail I've had (including eating in Japan and various sushi spots in LA, OC, SF, and NY) was surprisingly here, at a place I was honestly hesitant to even order sushi from. It's the first time I actually really could taste the flavor as it's more subtle than tuna, salmon, or albacore but they somehow made it incredibly memorable from the freshness. Definitely order the hamachi with pomegranate. I loved the flavor with the ponzu and that it wasn't just the basic jalapeño combo. There was a Singaporean crab garlic butter noodle dish they made once that was incredible though sadly seemed to be on the menu that time only. This was my absolute favorite entree they've offered so far. The gem lettuces Caesar salad is amazing although unfortunately, both times I've ordered it without cheese, they forgot. The boquerones (anchovies) are a gem (ha) that really adds to the salad and I love the texture from the herb crust. Their signature shrimp toast has a good crunch from the sesame seeds and distinct pieces of shrimp rather than mush inside and the ikura on top adds another good layer of flavor. The vegetable curry was rich, flavorful, and savory witbout being too heavy with perfectly cooked potatoes that didn't just hide in the sauce in a way that actually didn't make me miss the meat. The short rib curry had such tender meat and the roti made in house was actually a major highlight for me as it was so flaky, hot, crispy and had an amazing garlic flavor. The chocolate pot de creme had a good orange zest flavor to add to the chocolate and wasn't too rich or heavy though the texture was thicker. The calamari had super crispy batter so didn't associate it as much with a lighter tempura one but the lemons in it and the roasted garlic marinara sauce it came with were so good and added a lot of depth. The butter curry prawns has SUCH well cooked shrimp - flavor was amazing. Miso salmon was good though crispy skin side up would have been better personally. I liked the olive oil flavor in the vinaigrette and the lemon with veggies on the side as well. The tres leches was surprisingly light for a cake and very moist so I enjoyed a lot and the caramel ice cream wasn't overly sweet. The lychee vodka drink is my favorite (came with a drink pairing they offered with Sunday omakase) and the imperial gold yuzu cocktail is better for those who like a stronger drink. The grilled asparagus was cooked to a tenderness with great flavor from the crispy onions on top that have somehow made it among my top favorite dishes here, despite it just being a small side vegetable dish but I didn't like asparagus until this! I would definitely recommend coming here for dinner over brunch personally, as those have been my most memorable bites. Definitely order the yellowtail sashimi, shrimp toast, gem lettuces Caesar salad! Hoping the garlic butter crab noodles, grilled asparagus with crispy onions, and housemade roti reappear on the dinner menu!

The portion was pretty large compared to other places. Excellent Tempura cauliflower.. this was good but the only thing I have any notes on .. I'd like a sauce .. it's has flavorful toppings and something like chili oil on the plate .. wish chili oil was more of a sauce .. but still was very good .. texture was perfect tho .. a little crunchier than traditional tempura which was nice Ambiance was charming .. cute little place .. a must try

The lamb kebabs were a bit gamey for my taste but I enjoyed the sauce that came with it. Fish tacos were flaky and well cooked but wished it was more flavorful. The kimchi grilled cheese felt pretty substantial and filling. The food was good but one dish didn't particularly stand out. The drinks on the other hand did. The shades of pink was a really good sippable drink that was perfect on a warm day. It wasn't too sweet and light enough to feel refreshing. The aloe & behold cocktail was delicious and got a hint of floral flavor that made it feel unique. The staff were great and attentive. The bathrooms were clean and had a cute aesthetic. The whole restaurant felt like a good date night place or a vibey place to go with coworkers. Street/meter parking was available but be wary of the neighborhoods which have parking restrictions.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and even without a reservation, they were able to seat us right away. Definitely 5 stars for service and not being rude, but friendly and attentive even at a busy time (World Cup was on tv!). I heard alllll about the happy hour specials so I was stoked when we were able to get the best outdoor seating and the happy hour was going on until 7pm he said. So naturally, ordered a bunch of things to try. Unfortunately, that was a solid 3 stars for me. It was just fine. I was actually bummed because I was so excited to try the menu items. They were okay. Ordered sliders (kinda dry and without flavor), Parmesan fries (seasoning was there but not very flavorful and the sauce was bland, the krab rangoons resembled egg rolls (that was new!) and fish tacos were meh. My friend ordered the chicken and it came with fries (the dish not happy hour selection) and that looks more substantial but maybe not worth $32. The drink was sweet (pink lady). Outdoor vibes were cool and def a great spot at the end of 3rd street but probably wouldn't come here for the food. Again, indoor (big tv!!) and outdoor set up was awesome, but food is just okay. Great for large groups but make a reservation!

I really liked Hailey's sikhye slushy super refreshing Food - well balanced, subtle rich tastes, only con is the spicy foods were not spicy???: -Kimchi pancake 7/10 thicker than regular, still very crispy. -Fried crispy chicken 7/10 regular -Spicy silken tofu skew 10/10 the broth was excellent rich zucchini/mushroom extract flavor, silken tofu & meat taste/texture were not muted vs standard bcd soondubu -Chilled acorn noodle 9/10 refreshing -Bluefin tuna bibimbap 8.5/10 this was good but tuna/fish roe bibimbap was nothing too special aside from putting $$$ ingredients. Can easily remake this at home -Stir fried hen of the woods mushroom 9.5/10 really good mushroom rice cake -Spicy braised black cod- fish was cooked well but nothing phenomenal. Ordered bc it sounded interesting with the ingredients but I couldn't taste the chrysanthemum or spice Desserts did not CALL for us. July 2026, I think there were watch parties here for FIFA games. These games are during work hours. Well, I decided to come here for a Singles Meetup. Where is everyone? The bartender showed me a menu which I could order food that will be delivered from The Brixton. Scan the QR code to order. "Sorry, we aren't accepting orders at the moment..." I guess I could finish my beer, pay my tab and go searching for something good to eat. She didn't know the Wi-Fi password neither because they changed the password. Why broadcast the guest Wi-Fi if you aren't going to make it available? There was no organizer for the meetup event. With only a handful of people here, do I want to wait for the karaoke session? It's time to go eat somewhere else.
