It ended up working well together, crispy and delicious, packed with flavor. I got the mixed green salad that was bright and refreshing. My partner got the soup which was a broccoli cheddar situation that was amazing! I ordered the Roman Carbonara and added the spicy Italian sausage that was juicy and perfectly spicy to my liking. My partner ordered the filet and that was also juicy and flavorful. We love sitting at the bar because you get to interact with a bunch of staff. Every single person we encountered was super friendly, cheerful, and gave us their opinions of their favorite menu items which was basically the entire menu so now we have to come back! It's hard to describe without sounding like a food blogger, but it tasted like someone actually knew what they were doing, the sauce had real depth to it and the pasta wasn't overdone. When the plate arrived I thought "that's it?" but ended up finishing it and not needing much else. They brought out bread with some dips while we waited, and we had to actually pace ourselves so we didn't ruin our appetite. Small thing, but a nice touch. Our server was good checked in a couple of times but wasn't constantly interrupting us. Food came out in reasonable time even though the place started filling up around us. The price is the part that gives me pause. Adding protein to a dish cost noticeably more than I expected, and it's not somewhere you'd go casually on a weeknight. The only small knock I will give is the rice pilaf...It didn't have any flavor and was void of any color. Most rice pilaf I've had was a myriad of different rice adding depth, texture, color, and flavor. But the steak still made up for it.
