Even the crab cakes on my wife's Benedict were awesome! As a Marylander, I am snooty about crab cakes. I had the corned beef hash Benedict and the portion was huge, the eggs had golden and thick yolks, and we ordered one blueberry pancake as a side. It was bigger than the platter it came on, was malty with crunchy edges, and for $0.65, it was literally stuffed with blueberries! Went to Milton diner for breakfast and due to covid there are rules and we sat down our waiter came over with no mask or anything asking what we wanted, thought that he was going to come back with one on but no he served our drinks without a mask. Disgusting in every way. YOU SHOULD READ THIS. I'll take partial blame for this experience as the place smelled like wet cat food inside and that should've been my first clue to get back in the car. But in my defense my kids were starving, and we were going to sit outside anyway. Locals say the place is great, so I dismissed it as maybe a fluke thing. I shouldn't have. The food had no and/or weird flavor. The veggie burger was so over cooked and dry that I literally could peel it apart into rubber-like pieces. The fries somehow managed to be both raw tasting and burnt at the some time. The lemonade was literally warm (with ice cubes, but seriously...), and it had a weird astringent aftertaste. Chicken "tenders" were also overcooked, dry and crunchy. Acorn squash was served cut in half and baked (ooo! Real food! Promising, right?!) buuuut it was undercooked and under seasoned (a dash of cinnamon was the best attempt). Basically identical in flavor to the chunk of pumpkin you decided to bite when carving at Halloween just to see what it tasted like. I figured it was the safest thing to eat, so I did. I haven't died, so there's that. BUT WAIT - THERES MORE!! To get to the bathroom you have to walk through part of the kitchen, literally where food is being handled on both sides of you. Past trash cans that needed to be emptied. The bathrooms were (as by then expected) grimy with overflowing trash barrels. I wish I could give this dump negative stars. The Milton Diner is a local no-frills place. It's been a part of the town of Milton for years, and if you know the town of Milton this should be enough for you. If you're from out of town, this is a legit classic diner. The menu options haven't changed in years. You will not find any low carb, gluten free, local, or other fancy menu options. The burger is good. It is a little greasy, but it comes out hot. The size is good. French fries are the hand-cut style, not from a bag of frozen sticks. You can never go wrong with breakfast. Your home fries will always come out fresh and hot, and eggs can be done to your order. I don't recommend the sausage gravy. Ambience is nothing special. Dining room is clean and you will always overhear some of the local gossip. read more

When my family and I walked in we were not greeted at all. There were no workers in sight. Most of the tables were still dirty and it wasn't even that busy. The wait for the food was a good time but the food itself was bland and dry. Worst fries ever. However the prices were pretty cheap. Definitely get what you pay for. This is definitely a local place. I was pretty amazed at how good the food was cause I didn't expect much because of the atmosphere. I had a turkey club sandwich that came was delightful you could tell it was fresh the bread was toasted just right. It was far from fancy but it was truly just a good workingman's lunch. Our waitress forgot to bring a drink and some of the food when it finally came out. Omelets didn't have enough cheese but did have a lot of meat. I don't know what's worse, the food or the owners attitude that is clearly rubbing off on the staff. I waited 35 minutes to place an order, I understand staffing is an issue in this world right now so I remained patient, but I was very thirsty and stopped a waitress to see if she could grab my drink really quick, she replied "does it look like I have all the time in the world here? You need to wait or you can leave", I almost did but I figured she was stressed and decided to wait a little longer. She brought the drink 15 minutes later, slammed it down and walked away. When the horrific food was slid in front of me, she did apologize, saying the owner has been screaming at them all night and she had just been in the bathroom crying. He did make a quick appearance in which time he was berating another staff member in front of customers and smelling like a stale ashtray. The food sucked, there's no other way of putting it, it was bland, thrown together and there was hair in it. I didn't eat it after pulling the hair out of my throat (gag) I paid and left the waitress a hefty tip even though she treated me like that, I've been a waitress and I know firsthand what a vile restaurant owner can do to a whole fleet of workers.
