Excellent customer service from the representative that checked me out. It took about 15 minutes to get seen but that's understandable when you're busy. My biggest complaint is how I left and within a few minutes I had a flat tire. At the dealership I was called in and told that there was a metal object lodged in my tire. I figured no biggie because I had been driving around all day and my tire sensor never went off. I was told that it was highly recommended to replace it, but since I have a warranty on the tires from Discount Tire I would go back and get it fixed. When I checked out we looked at the tire and saw that it was leaking air noticeably as we could hear it. Struck me odd as stated prior I had been driving around all day and nothing. Even when I was at the dealership waiting to get checked in nothing. I left to get it fixed and hopefully it will be salvageable, but if not I'm out $170 dollars replacing my tire. Either something shady going on in the garage or the floor hasn't been swept. read more

I called and made an appointment for an oil change and an analysis of the "check engine" warning on the car's computer. I arranged for a loaner. Upon arriving I was told I couldn't get a loaner until they ran an analysis to check out the problem to make certain my extended warranty would cover the cost. I asked why I wasn't told that when I scheduled. They asked if I wanted to wait. I asked how long it would take. The service person was honest by saying she was uncertain which earned the one star rating. I decided to reschedule so I could make the appointments I had planned for the day. At my next appointment I had to repeat all the details from my previous visit. Either their computer system is antiquated or they don't both to enter information to provide better customer service. So this is now the third time I had to explain the message my car was giving me (to the person who scheduled my first appointment and then to both service reps). I told the rep it should be in their computer as this was a follow up visit. She asked me to show her the message. She read it. I left my car around 8 a.m. I hadn't heard anything by 4 p.m. so I called. My oil change was done but they were still working on the check engine light. The service rep called 15 minutes later and said the car was ready. Upon arrival my invoice read that the tech couldn't find anything wrong and cleared the message and reset the computer. I started the engine and the message was still there. I left out of frustration and figured it was too close to closing for anything to be done. I called the rep who said she would reach out to the tech....she did and then called and repeated he couldn't find anything. Then, she asked me to fax a photo of the actual message and not just the alert. The technician hadn't read the message! I won't be going back which is so disappointing because my former Toyota dealer was awesome and I had hoped to find the same here in Augusta. Many others have written about issues at this dealership. I should have listened but figured since we were new to the area I would give them a chance because they are local. I won't be returning there. read more

First off we purchased our vehicle from the Milton Ruben dealership a little over 4 years ago. Then we took it (2008 Toyota Tundra) to have 3 things fixed: rear main seal, front passenger side CV axle, and the water pump. Water pump install was fine however the busted the differential housing when they were fixing the CV axle and they did not fully clean the area after fixing the rear main seal so oil that pooled when they did the repair continued to drip for almost 2 weeks (even after we took it back and they "cleaned" it). They did not disclose the damaged differential housing but luckily we always check repair work. When my husband pointed it out they tried to tell him "it didn't matter" when it definitely does. I went back the next day and spoke with Colby (the service manager) again (my husband spoke with him the day prior) and he finally agreed to order a used one and put it on the truck. When I inquired about cost he informed me they would do it "at cost" and I quickly informed him that since we did not break the piece then we should pay nothing. He agreed with that so the repair would be done at no cost to us. Upon leaving the service center for a 2nd time after the housing was replaced we noticed a loud grinding metal sound and immediately took it back (now for a 3rd time). Mind you the first time we took it they quoted 4 days and then delayed it 2 more days until they gave us a rental for 4 more days. The 2nd repair was quoted same day then we received a call that it would be 5 more days (they ordered the incorrect part). So not only did they break a piece, we had to fight to get it replaced at no cost to us, and the quoted time was over doubled each time. Pick a different service center this place is underhanded and I don't know what kind of overview they have of their mechanics but it is a joke. I would give them a 5-star rating but for one thing. I took my car in for the 40K mile checkup--oil change, rotate tires, etc.--and they were finished in a little over an hour (the people talking about long wait times must just hit them at a bad time/day). The downgrade is because the diagnostic report said I needed new front brakes and battery service. Why they didn't ask me if I wanted this done instead of having to schedule another appointment (and I live 35 miles away) is beyond me. read more

My tire pressure got low due to the weather. So I got the tires inflated. After I had gotten my tires inflated, I noticed something felt different and off. I checked the tire pressure monitor and my tires were about 45-48psi. I called the service department asking about this and the person that answered my call said that this was completely safe and that my tires were over-inflated so that I would not have to come back. However, I didn't feel safe driving with tires this over-inflated and took it back to the service department. They even acknowledged that the tires were way too over-inflated. The max psi for my car's tires were 35psi. If I had continued to drive with the over-inflated tires, I could have gotten into an accident. read more

I had to stay on hold for 10 minutes each of the 4 times I called and was told each time they would call me back, which they didn't. I was called back once and then was blamed by the guy for not being able to get a hold of me. You couldn't get a hold of me b/c you NEVER called me yet your co-worker had an easy enough time calling me. And is it coincidence that my engine started miss-firing the very next day? I went to Milton Ruben Toyota today, because I was driving and suddenly the tire light came on, and my left side, passenger door, on my 2018 Camry became flat. Luckily for, I was nearby an Advanced Auto Parts Place, I went inside, those lazy ass guys said they wouldn't change the tire for me. I called Roadside Assistance, and they said the wait would be 1-2 hours. So I called a handy man that helps me at my house, and he came, and changed the tire for me. I went went straight to Milton Ruben, they had me waiting in the waiting area for about 2 hours, then the Serviceman kept playing games with me. Finally, I went over to the Service Manager, who had the nerve to tell me that I would have to pay 225.00 plus other fees for a new tire, so I just left, and went to Discount Tire down the Street from Milton Ruben, who sold me a Michelin tire for $170.00, and a $22.00 Replacement up to 60,000 miles. The car is only 7 months old, unimaginable. But that is okay, because I am going to Facebook them too. Awful Customer Service on New, or Used vehicles that they sell. The cost of this Camry is unimaginable, that they want me to pay them. But Discount Tire honors their tires, but not Milton Ruben who sold me this 2018 Toyota Camry. Bought a new tire from these guys around 5 months back. Today, I had the flat tire( Same new tire I bought from Milton Ruben ) and went to Stone mountain dealership in Atlanta. As I was in Atlanta for some work I had to get that fixed immediately. I was told that I have the warranty and roadside hazard protection for that new tire which is valid all across toyota dealerships. So when I went to the dealership I was told that Milton Ruben Toyota never actually filed my warranty details in the system so they cannot find me in the dealership in Atlanta. What a blunder from Milton Toyota! It cost me 200 bucks to get a new tire again even though having the warranty for the tire. I would not recommend these guys. They have been so negligent about the smallest thing of registering my tire warranty in the system. Imagine buying a car from them with extended warranty. Waste of time and money. read more

Horrible service. My brakes were not inspected although I specified twice that it needs to be inspected- once when I made the service appointment and again as I was dropping the car off. Furthermore, instead of putting the hubcaps back on the wheels, they put the hubcaps on my backseat without bothering to put a sheet under them. My son sat there and now has brown spots on his pants. Purchased our Toyota Sienna. I first dealt with the Internet staff then came in to meet with a rep. Took a few hours to negotiate price but very happy with purchase. We also traded in our old car. Friendly staff. Would suggest they update their showroom. I'm sure it will be renovated soon bc Toyota and Chevrolet have done so next door (believe they are all owned by same company). Update: 10/25/12 I took my 5 star to 4 bc of the long wait times at Toyota service. It shouldn't take 3 hrs for am oil change. I also had to read the manual in front of the service rep to fix a problem with my car. Wish they were more familiar with their cars and options Update: 7/2014 The service department is doing much better. I came here two times in the last few months and was able to get in and out. Well I am hardly ever impressed by a car sales man, but Christopher Foss set the standard and I would most definitely buy another car from him. He is a VETERAN, he SPEAKS FLUENT SPANISH! And from start to finish and even days later, he was still helping me out and doing what he could to take care of me and making sure I was more than happy with my purchase. Which I am thanks to him! Working with Mr. Foss was the best part of my new car purchasing experience. The business department on the other hand really didn't make me feel comfortable, they didn't listen to what I wanted and being with them felt like being at any other cutthroat car dealership. It was so bad I had to ask for the guys name first because he didn't even introduce himself to me he just started throwing fast numbers at me. Over all the business department I would score them a three (3) star rating. Like I said they were not any more or less different from any other car dealership. They real made me feel only like a number and could care less of what I wanted or needed. I do love my new Tundra, I will come back to Milton Ruben Toyota for a new car or truck. Overall I like this dealership. The staff are all friendly and helpful. However, my only gripe is that when coming in for service, it can be confusing or delayed when it comes to finding out how to get assistance. The signs are sometimes missing, and I don't know where to pull in, or who I need to come to in order to check in for an appointment. If there was a dedicated podium or lane or something of those nature, it would help greatly for the flow of everything. Otherwise, great dealership! read more

I liked working with Larry Shuler, he made me feel comfortable and was gracious in his manner. He gave me a good deal and was a professional the entire time. Ask for him when you go to Milton. I purchased 2 cars from him back to back for just that reason. One detractor is the finance department. The basically called me a liar and a fraud because they didn't get the payment for my pre-approval from USAA. Upon investigation they actually did receive the payment but decided not to look into it. "Unresponsive to a Customers' Needs" Our 2013 Toyota Rav4 was purchased new from Milton Ruben Toyota in 2013. Recently our Rav4 started experiencing transmission issues. The car has 95k miles and has never been mistreated. Before taking the car to Milton Ruben I did some research and found that there was an extended warranty on the torque converter. I brought this to the service advisors attention and the car was brought back for examination. Two hours later I was informed that it was not the torque converter and that I needed a complete new transmission at the cost of $6,400 plus tax. It was explained that two technicians had driven the car and this was their conclusion. Nothing was said about the Rav4 being analyzed using technology. I left with the Rav4 and traveled approximately 15 miles to a transmission shop that has been in business for 66 years. The car was tested showing no codes. However, two senior technicians drove the car and said it was the torque converter. The total cost for the analysis was $78.00. The technician that tested the car suggested that I take our Rav4 to another Toyota Dealership (Bob Richards Toyota) that was approximately 5 miles away. Consequently, we did go to Bob Richards. The Rav4 was tested at the second dealership and the conclusion was that it was the torque converter. The car was repaired under warranty and returned to me within twenty four hours. I found Milton Ruben Toyota in Augusta, Ga unresponsive to our needs and we will not be doing business with them again. read more

My daughter bought a cheap from Milton Ruben four months ago. She went to go have the Oil changed and they told her to come back when it had 5000 miles on it. At 4000 miles it suddenly stopped on the road. They told her that there wasn't any oil in her car. They made her pay for the oil change and told her that if she did not pay the amount they would not give her the keys and she'd have to pay lot fees. She could only trade it in if she bought a 2019. Went here to get my oil changed and tires rotated. Service person was nice, but when I got my car back I noticed that my tires weren't rotated at all. I only got 2 front tires changed a couple of years ago since the back tires didn't wear out as quickly. I told the service person that it wasn't done and I forgot to give them my wheel lock which was in the back. He ensured me that they would have looked, but I just wanted my money back for the tire rotation. I didn't want it to be rotated since I've already been waiting for over 2 hours at this point, but he said I'll look into the cameras for you but still need you car. He came back with the tires rotated anyways, and said the guy was at lunch now so he couldn't talk to him. After leaving, I opened my trunk to find everything everywhere, I had just gone to Walmart to grab a few items and everything was out of their bags. They also pumped my tires to 39 psi when the recommended manufacture only recommends 32. So while driving home all I hear is a loud continuous noise from my tires. I purchased a 2018 Toyota Camry SE on 10/6. 4-5 days after purchasing the car from , we went on a day trip and realized that the car didn't have a CD player. We are HUGE music fans and use CDs all of the time. This was a shock that a vehicle now wouldn't come standard with a CD player. We called our salesman William Jenkins and he was short and somewhat condescending. He said he was busy and he would talk to his manager and call us back. We never received a call back. When we purchased the Camry, I turned in my Corolla lease. I signed paperwork to turn the lease in and that I was authorizing Milton Ruben Toyota to pay off my lease from Southeast Toyota Finance. On 10/30 I was contacted by STF requesting I call them. I figured it was for the Camry so I called them back on 10/31 and realized that STF was calling about the Corolla, which I had turned in. I explained the situation and STF said that they would contact Milton Ruben. I called Milton Ruben and left a message for Linda Giles. She returned my call late on 10/31 and then again on 11/1, leaving me voicemails stating that the financial paperwork had been lost, but that she was contact STF and the new finance company to clear up the issues. My husband called Linda because I was at work and couldn't talk on the phone. She assured my husband that my credit wouldn't be affected due to the lease pay off or the new finance company not receiving my paperwork and that the paperwork for the new loan hadn't even been processed so the Camry payment would have no way of being late because it was like we hadn't even purchased the Camry. On 11/2 I was called again by STF and they said they hadn't received the lease pay off and that they were going to turn the lease over to collections and repossession. I explained I had already paid Milton Ruben for the lease payoff and they had told me it was taken care off on 11/1. Later that day my mom called me and said she had been contacted by STF and was threatened for collections as well, since she had cosigned the Corolla lease. They instructed me to call Milton Ruben and get the tracking number and payment information. I called Linda Giles on her cell number she provided and she gave me the tracking number and the date/time and person who signed the lease payoff at STF. She told ME to call STF to give them this info... which I thought, why do I have to do this because it's your mess up?!?! But I called STF and provided the information and they put a note on my account. I was called again on 11/5 by STF and I again explained it had been taken care of. They said it would probably post on 11/6 if it was received on 11/2, so if I didn't hear back from them by then that it had been resolved. I haven't received another call from then. It is now 11/11 (SUNDAY) and I received a call from Ally Financial Customer Resolution Department. They said that I would be turned in to a collection agency if payment wasn't received within 4 days. I have a 100% on-time payment history, so this is very stressful, especially since this was due to Milton Ruben's mistake. I purchased the vehicle on 10/6 and I don't have the new financial company information or the tag information (which expires on 11/20). I should receive the CD player sound system and MR should pay my first few months of payments for all of the harassment & headache. I have been a loyal Toyota customer because of the service, but I have been so disappointed. We have a huge family who all have Toyotas, but after this experience we will be switching to Hondas if this is not corrected. read more

I'm here, currently. I had an appointment for an oil change at 2:30 (when I pulled into the bay, the man said he didn't see an appointment in his system but not to worry), it's currently 4:30.. two hours later. I asked the cashier about the status of the oil change. They sent me to the middle office connected to the bays just to find out that, not only was the oil not changed, but they had no idea I was waiting. If I didn't have a lease with them, and if taking my truck somewhere else wouldn't void the warranty- I absolutely would never step foot on this property again until I drop the truck off when the lease is up. This is just the tip of the ice berg for me, unfortunately. I cannot stress *ENOUGH* the amount of frustration this poorly managed establishment has caused me from the very beginning. I wish I'd read some of their reviews before leasing with them. They genuinely do not care about their customers or the lack of support they give to us. The only time I've been treated respectfully by anyone in this building was the day I signed the lease (by the person who I test drove with.. nice young man) but even the man who worked in the finance department was a real jerk. I should've gone with my gut feeling which was to go somewhere else when we started dealing with the guy in the finance office. The car dealership part was fine. Our sales man was great and we were very happy with the car we purchased (a clean, 2005 Toyota Corolla), however, seven months later, when it started to experience some problems, we found that the service department is useless (and condescending). Generally I'd fix whatever was wrong with my car myself, but since I was paying an extra $30 a month for an extended warranty,I thought I'd let them look at it first. I have now been in twice, paid about $200 total, and they haven't found anything wrong. Even though the car did the same thing for them that it was doing for me (not shifting into a higher gear). The last time I went, they had the car all day then send me home right at closing and I broke down again within spitting distance of the dealership. I didn't make it half a mile away. What makes it worse, my husband called the dealership and told them what he thought might be wrong and they didn't even look into it...AND he was right. We fixed it by the side of the road with flashlights. We could have just saved ourselves some time, trouble, and frustration and did the work ourselves. Needless to say, I am not pleased with the service department. By a car there, by all means, but have it serviced elsewhere. read more

If you have them ship a car from port, ensure they double and triple check they are ordering the right car before signing. Doing so may prevent the staff from inventing stories of vehicle damage when the car you ordered is sitting on the lot (in the wrong color). Word of advice dealership, a simple phone call goes a long way when a problem is discovered. Also a comment to the management, when an employee tells you he lied to a customer, take over the process.. do something.. dont perpetuate the lie.. make it right.
