Don't hesitate to call Milton's Sudbury Appliance. I highly recommend them! I felt good about calling them as I saw glowing reviews from past customers who I know personally, and their service did not disappoint. That's why I'm writing a review - the first review I think I've ever written online for a non-restaurant business or service. If you need an appliance repaired, these folks deserve your business. They know their stuff; they communicate clearly; they show up on time; and they are a small family business that operates mostly on word-of-mouth recommendations. My dryer stopped heating and turning when I tried drying too many towels at once last week. I called Milton's and left a voicemail. Diane in the office called me back promptly to get my information and schedule the appointment. They were available to come out the next day. I had them come out earlier today instead, as that worked better for my work schedule. As other customers have noted, Justin, the repair person, is very friendly and knowledgeable. He heard my side of the story, immediately opened the dryer and saw that my drum belt was snapped / broken. He looked in his van and had a replacement belt that fit. He tested the dryer and it worked perfectly. This process took less than 15 minutes. We spent more time talking about how dryers are designed and how appliance manufacturers actually wish there more appliance repair people to service their warrantied machines than anything else. As others have noted, Milton's accepts credit cards, so payment is quick and easy if you don't have cash or a checkbook. The service fee consisted of a flat diagnostic fee, a reasonable labor cost, and the cost plus sales tax for the replacement belt. The price seemed reasonable to me and is certainly cheaper and easier than buying a new dryer or trying to fix it myself. When I bought my house the washer and dryer came with it, which I mentioned. Justin did me the courtesy of letting me know the washer is in good condition and will probably last a while, whereas the dryer is about 15 years old and may just need to be replaced next time something goes wrong with it. It's great to know that ahead of time to be able to plan for a future purchase. Milton's Sudbury Appliance is the only appliance repair business I will ever use. I hope they stick around for a long time and find a young person to train in the trade. read more

Prompt response to my request for an estimate. Similarly prompt to schedule a service appointment a few days from the initial contact. Estimate and prices were clearly explained/communicated prior to scheduling. Steve arrived for the appointment promptly and prepared. Steve explained the work and the costs before starting any service. Steve provided recommendations for replace versus repair. There was a part for our refrigerator which didn't fit quite right and Steve was able to get a better fitting part and returned a few days later to complete the repair. What can I say? I was s*** out of luck finding any appliance service to bail out our dead oven mere days before the big birthday that my wife was honored(?) with the job of baking the birthday cake for and the stove would NOT light!! All the other services could help me two months from now or else they required that the appliance be purchased from them. Believe me, this gas range is OLD. Nobody knows when or where it was bought. Since 2015, Milton's is our preferred appliance vendor. Justin and Diane are so kind and wonderful to work with. Over the years Justin has fixed 2 of our refrigerators (Dacor & LG French door styles), replacing an icemaker, fixed the freezer where water kept accumulating at the bottom. I no longer have use a hammer to remove the frozen water. Our 2010 Samsung dryer belt has been replaced twice. We use the dryer all the time and the belts last about 5 yrs. In February 2021, our Samsung dryer stopped spinning and I thought it was the belt. Justin came out and said we needed to replace the motor. The motor had to be ordered. Diane followed up to keep us posted on the status of the motor and scheduled Justin to come back to install which was about a week later. He showed us a work around if the dryer stopped so that we could continue using it until the motor arrived. What I like most is that Justin takes the time to answer all of my questions, even those not related to the original reason. He's very knowledgeable about all appliances and different brands. I asked for recommendations washers. He provided his recommendation for our next washer (Speed Queen) which I will be purchasing through Justin when our Samsung washer goes out. The best local appliance repair company, hands down! It took at least a week to get the appointment for our broken fridge, but it was well worth the wait. Kind support personnel and very efficient when getting the part needed to get our fridge back and working again. Most "larger" companies didn't return our calls, gave ridiculous repair dates, or simply weren't accommodating and would probably have charged double. Five stars for customer service & quality work! My wall oven died one week before thanksgiving. I called every repair service & could not get an appointment. Diane sent a repairman, who diagnosed the problem & ordered the needed part. He returned before thanksgiving to install but it was wrong part! While I appreciate your response on my review, I can tell you that the technician you sent did say, each visit would cost $109+ material otherwise I would have called back. I just wasn't willing to keep adding the cost for each visit and was leaning towards replacing the refrigerator. If the ice build up is a known issue by the Milton's I think it would have taken him just a few minutes to check that rather than being in and out in less than 30mins. read more

I called around for an appliance repair person after our LG fridge blew a water hose. We dealt with two other appliance repair places who came to look at the problem, said they would 'order parts' and then never returned our calls. I got this recommendation from another appliance repair place that doesn't service LGs. I called and spoke to a very nice and personable woman who scheduled Mike Milton himself to come out to our house the very next day. We live in Natick and this business is based in Marlborough. Mike came. He assessed the problem and came up with a work around solution that neither previous repair place could come up with that was much less expensive! He was clear, quick and clean. Milton Appliance came out today to fix my GE washing machine that was making awful noises. Great service and no bs. They came, they fixed, they explained, and they charged a less than their competitors. Very pleased with the service and speed. I called them on a Sunday night and they returned my call first thing on Monday and was at my doorstep exactly on time and with everything necessary to fix the washing machine. Milton was enlisted by a major retailer to service our problematic and poorly designed Samsung French door fridge (hint: Stay away from Samsung fridges, microwaves, and Blu-ray players). This was the 5th call for the same problem. Previous dealer assigned techs were inexperienced, obnoxious, unconsientious, arrogant, insulting or outright rude. Mike was the opposite on all counts. Since my fridge issue was an intermittent and irritating noise, I made several professional recordings and event charts linking compressor noise levels, fan chatter, and cooling failures. All other techs thought that my 10 bours of effort was a joke as compared to their 20 minutes of ineptitude, rudeness, and inefficacy. Mike actually studied my research and used it into his diagnostics. Unfortunely, the retailer who sent Mike as their "A" team consigned him to replace a part one of the junior teams previously ordered. Mike was quick to glean the part was probably not the culprit but had to follow through before he could try anything else. I look forward to his next visit in a few weeks when he has a chance to diagnose and order the parts he (not some retailer "C" team) deems necessary. Experience: 5/5 Attitude: 5/5 Promptness: 5/5 Professionalism: 5/5 Honesty: 5/5 Work Excellence: The "Excellence" rating above is empty since he hasn't yet visited to diagnose and fix what he thinks the problem is. More importantly, he will honestly tell you when NOT to fix the appliance because it is no longer cost effective for you to do so. Our clothes dryer developed a nasty squealing noise that sounded like a bad bearing. I asked my Facebook friends for an appliance service recommendation and several provided me with Milton's name. I set up an appointment for the following day and sure enough, the service tech came on time, and diagnosed the problem as soon as he turned the dryer on. Note this experience was over a year ago so this review is not recent, Scheduling (specifically Dianne) was excellent and prompt. Mike was another story. He railed against the service company who held the warranty on the product (he claimed they would make it difficult for me to get the unit fixed -- not true and that they were slow to pay him -- not my problem). He was rude indicating I should be paying more money for a service contract with a local business (purchase was online). Customers don't need to hear his issues. If you don't own a whirlpool Appliance and your product is less than a year old call the manufacturer of your product before calling anyone. After handing us a bill and repairing our LG washer the technician then tells us it would have been covered by LG. Did he mention this before or mention that there's something called LG authorized repair shop which Mike's is not? NO he did not. Now LG will not reimburse me and considers my warranty voided because this company touched my machine. This company is not cheap the bill was $198. read more

Our dishwasher was not draining properly, and by properly I mean you open the door at the end of the cycle and water would flood the floor. I called Milton's back in January, or February on one of the day's of the big snowstorms we got this year. I totally expected to just set up an appointment which is what the woman (Diane?/wife?/office manager?/all?) set up. This was on a Tuesday, and she said that Thursday he would be available to come out and take a look. Within 30 minutes the office called back and asked if I would be available today and that the worker (I want to call him Mike) could stop by in an hour or so since he was on his way back from Wayland. I said yes, but warned that my driveway was un-shoveled and I wasn't going to get to it by time he came. She was okay with that, (post office officials take note) When (I'm just going to call him) Mike showed up he took a look at the dishwasher, went item by item of how it drains. I had checked all the owner level maintenance long before calling, but he still went from filter to drain. Finally found the problem of a clogged pump. Blew out the pump with some pressured air and reinstalled everything. Then he didn't want to give a lecture, but wanted to advise me on why this happened and the importance of pre rinsing before putting dishes in the dishwasher (side not: If I need to do that, why not just throw a few drops of soap on a sponge and save myself a few $100 on buying the thing. Not this vendor's fault more of a commentary on "how things are built" nowadays). The price he charged was about 1/4 what a new dishwasher would of cost, and less than half a new pump alone, before installation. The only reason for 4 and not 5. I did get almost all the water out of the unit before he came, but there's still water in the piping that ended up on my floor, which is unfinished under my dishwasher. & about a month later I went to clean off my filter for regular maintenance and found that it was not locked into place, I could not be 100% if this is from Mike or another problem with my dishwasher, but it's been 3 more monthly maintenance since then and the filter has not come unlocked on it's own so this was a small, but could of been costly, as another call to a maintenance worker, oversight. I would still highly recommend Milton's and will use them again if ever needed. read more

Great service! Our washing machine stopped spinning one night in the middle of a load of laundry. I called Milton after finding them in the phone book. I ended up leaving a message because it was 11:30 at night. I got a return call from them at 7:15 the next morning, described the problem, and was told someone could be out in the next 30 minutes. I don't remember the name of the man who came out, but he was wonderful. Our washing machine is at least 15 years old, but he told me that he could repair it easily. He had a part for it on his truck. He did not pressure me to do anything and actually told me that we should repair and keep the washing machine as long as possible because it was a well made machine. He didn't make a mess in my house and didn't seem bothered that my dogs were barking at him like crazy. He found the part and repaired the machine in about half an hour. I wish I had known he could repair it so quickly so I didn't handwash the laundry the night before! All in all, excellent service! We will definitely call Milton again! read more

Irresponsible. Milton appliance provided me with part numbers for my broken oven, which I ordered. I ordered the non-returnable parts for $500, only to learn when a Milton employee came to install them that they are not in fact the right parts for my model oven. (All parties agreed that I did indeed receive the parts they told me to order.) They accepted no responsibility, told me it was their parts distributor's fault, he must have given them the wrong numbers and I'd have to call him. Basically, they implied I am SOL because I trusted them to give me the correct parts numbers. I hadn't even asked them to cover 100% of the cost, I was willing to split it 50-50. Milton's belligerence and defensiveness was almost as bad as being out $500 and still having a broken oven. Almost. read more

We called Milton's to diagnose/repair our Kenmore Elite frontload dryer ( actually an LG) that had trouble spinning. Milton's was able to show up same day. The service tech (Justin) was personable and experienced. I found the owners to be very communicative throughout the entire repair process . Diane kept us in the loop and was respectful of our busy schedule -- updating us on the ETA of the initial service visit, the parts order and the repair date.
