The service was amazing. The restaurant was clean. Im not sure what I was expecting for avacado Benedict but it definitely wasnt what I got lol. I liked the sauce and you cant go wrong w a grilled English muffin but the slice of cheese un melted was a little off. The hash browns were delicious crispy out side and soft in the middle. My bf got a make your own omelet it was good but would have been a lot better with seasoning. I would come back but wouldnt make a special trip for it. read more

Quiet and small breakfast place, really fast service, and amazing portions. Family and I (3 people) went on a Sunday morning at 9:30am and was seated immediately with plenty of open seats. Portuguese Omelet- comes with home fries and toast. This restaurant seems like it defaults to cheddar cheese on most meals, so be sure to specify type of cheese if you want something else. The omelet was cooked perfectly and was a decent size. The only thing was that the cheese was very stringy and looked like it wasn't cooked/melted fully. Wheat toast was good, but too much butter on top. Home fries were perfectly crisp. Ham and cheddar cheese omelet- comes with home fries and toast. This omelet was my favorite and the cheddar cheese tasted better for some reason. The cheese was still stringy but not as bad as the Portuguese omelet. We chose cinnamon raisin toast for this meal and it was amazing. Home fries were perfectly crisp. Little scrambler- doesn't say how much eggs were used but it was probably three. It came in a big bowl with cheese, Italian sausage, ham, onions, and peppers. This meal was an amazing portion, great taste, and got full so I couldn't finish it all! However, same issue with the cheese- was stringy and not cooked fully. Coffee was good too. They only have non-dairy creamer packets sitting at the table. Would come again but not dying to come back. Friendly, welcoming cafe, great for brekkie, brunch, or lunch. There are several tables available inside as well as out; we sat at the counter and got a good view of the short-order cook going about his competent and efficient biz. Food was pretty good too: my wife had the avocado toast special while I had the deluxe special of 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, home fries, and sausages - with some bacon thrown in on the side - and enjoyed a pleasant meal. The place was somewhat busy but luckily we found parking and was sat down right away. The place seems like standard breakfast place but offers alcoholic drinks as well. I ordered the Portuguese benedict with some home fries. Eggs and linguica were cooked to perfection and linguica came with good portion. Home fries were savory and crispy. Pairing of benedict with home fries and ketchup/hot sauce combo was very good. The service was pretty good and staffs were nice. We did have to ask for some utensils and condiments since there were none on the table that we needed but it was not troublesome to ask. Overall I did like Mimi's cafe as breakfast spot. It's a bit out of way from where I'm located but I would come back when I'm around the area and maybe try their other menu. I've come here a couple times now, and the food is consistently good. On our last visit, I had the burger. It's nothing super over the top, but it is done right. This place isn't boring though. They've got mimosa flights and chicken and waffles and all kinds of trendy stuff if that's what you're into. They've also got some good, old-fashioned, shredded hashbrowns that were on point. The food was amazing, I don't remember the name of the special, I ordered but it was top notch egg, sausage cheese on a muffin with sausage white gravy. Oh w/ the crispiest home fries. An amazing spot for breakfast. While the decor is a bit... stark (black and white aesthetic), the service and food more than make up for it. This place gets busy really quick for good reason - big portions and delicious food! Everything is made fresh in an open kitchen so if you sit at the counter you can see the breakfast magic. Although we live close to Mimi's, my wife and I rarely travel in that direction so we never thought of stopping there. Thanks to YELP community manager Rachael, we took a chance on a stormy day and tried it. Very easy to locate, we entered the restaurant and were quickly taken by the clean and comforting setting. The place was busy but we were immediately seated by Abbie, our waitress. She was delightful, explained the menus to us and provided great guidance in our selection. We split the Deluxe Special and so glad we did because together we just about were able to clean our plates. The food was bountiful and tasty. Noel, the owner came to visit us to make sure we enjoyed the experience. He explained the menu rotation he was planning around the upcoming holidays. It wasn't very busy and I was alone so I sat at the bar. It looked very nice with the menus and eating utensils meticulously arranged and wrap in a white napkin. They had a nice breakfast and lunch menu but I ordered the Vegi Omelette with included homefries and wheat toast dry. I watched the chef perform my meal directly in front of me because the grill is opposite the bar seating. The omelette was very good! Good portion with an abundance of vegetables, i.e. broccoli, spinach, onion and tomato. The home fries were fair at best. Not much flavor or onions. They drop small cubed potatoes in the grease fryer, not on the grill, which makes them more of mini French fries. I don't like or eat French fries so you can understand why I didn't like them. We were very surprised to find that our vegetables in our omelet weren't seasoned at all and had no taste. The vegetables were cooked nicely, however. In addition, my turkey sausage did not resemble breakfast sausage at all...again, no taste, sadly. Same for the eggs I had. Salt, pepper, and a hint of garlic powder would do wonders for your food. The "home fries" were just the cheap restaurant-chain type, if you will (deep-fried cubes with no discernable flavor, seasoning, chopped onions, etc.). Also, even for East Greenwich, the prices were obviously inflated on everything, including house wine...$13 a glass (of such cheap wine) is simply unforgivable! I rarely post negative reviews, but we chose Mimi's based on the 4.2 rating for our Sunday drive breakfast. The staff was inattentive, distracted, and was bothered. The food cold, bland, and the opposite of what was ordered- potatoes not hash browns, over easy not over hard, grilled not toasted English muffin, turkey sausage severely over cooked. My friend's avacodo toast was hard and the small thinly sliced sour dough bread was crispy. The $4 cup of coffee was undrinkable, especially with the only option - processed creamer. We had brunch and tasted their flight of mimosas during Valentine's Day weekend, and were very positively impressed. The service was a bit slow at the beginning, but when we explained we had another engagement, the server was responsive and accommodating. My favorite mimosa in the flight sampled was the sunrise mimosa, with Prosecco, pineapple, grenadine, and cherry, reminiscent of a refreshing Tequila sunrise cocktail. Their breakfast/brunch entrees are large and quite delicious. I had their 3 egg and corned beef hash with hash browns and rye toast and I couldn't stop raving. And my fiancée had their French toast platter and she remarked it was the best French toast breakfast she's ever had. We both finished our large plates! Nope, Nope Nope. I stopped at Mimi's this week for lunch, and sat the the bar. I noticed the cook had a beard, and was not wearing a beard net, the second cook also had a beard and was not wearing a beard net as well. I am servsaf trained and as a food handler, not wearing hair nets, or beard nets is a big no no. I also noticed their butter and kitchen staples were near the counter and could be contaminated easily. These poor food handling practices are a hard no for me.
